Welcome
The Saffire BT Pod 3008 iPod Transmitter is very simple and convenient to use. With the Advance Audio
Distribution Profile (A2DP) of Bluetooth wireless technology, it enables the iPod to transfer the stereo signal
wirelessly.
Together with the Bluetooth Enable Stereo Headset, it delivers astonishingly high quality stereo sound and very
easy to use. It provides a difference experience in listening to the music.

Users are not permitted to make changes or modify the device in any way. Changes or modifications not expressly
approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. See 47
CFR Sec. 15.21.
The antenna provided is a unique antenna, by installation of unauthorized antenna to this equipment, such
unauthorized antenna cold void user’s authority to operate the equipment.
The manufacturer is not responsible for any radio or TV interference cause by unauthorized modification to this
equipment. Such modifications could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This

Electromagnetic Interference/Compatibility
Note:

Facilities
To avoid electromagnetic interference and/or compatibility conflicts, turn off your Bluetooth device in any facility
where posted notices instruct you to do so. Hospitals or health care facilities may be using equipment that is
sensitive to external RF energy.
Aircraft
When instructed to do so, turn off your Bluetooth device when on board an aircraft. Any use of a Bluetooth device
must be in accordance with applicable regulations per airline crew instructions.
Medical Devices
Hearing Aids
Some digital wireless phones may interfere with some hearing aids. In the event of such interference, you may
want to consult with your hearing aid manufacturer to discuss alternatives.
Other Medical Devices
If you use any other personal medical device, consult the manufacturer of your device to determine if it is
adequately shielded from RF energy. Your physician may be able to assist you in obtaining this information.

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part
15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a
residential installation. This equipment generates; uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed
and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However,

Introduction
What Is Bluetooth Wireless Technology?
Bluetooth wireless technology propels you into a new dimension in connectivity. Bluetooth devices communicate
without wires, using built-in radio transceivers that operate on a globally available radio frequency to ensure
worldwide compatibility. Your Bluetooth iPod Transmitter can communicate with other Bluetooth devices within a
range of approximately 10 meters (30 feet).
How Can I Use My Bluetooth iPod Transmitter?
The Bluetooth iPod Transmitter lets you connect your iPod with a Bluetooth headset such as Saffire SHP 2118
Stereo Headset. It allows you listening to your iPod music hands-free.

This package includes the following:

1 - Power On/Off switch: Turn on and turn
off power to the transmitter

Using Your iPod Transmitter
First-Time Use
Before you can use your iPod Transmitter, you need to charge the battery. New factory installed batteries are
shipped partially charged. You can charge the BT 3008 Transmitter in two ways:
Connect you BT 3008 Transmitter to your computer
Use the USB Power Adapter, provided to you in the package
Charging the battery
When to charge
Before you can use your iPod Transmitter, you need to fully charge the battery. Over extended periods of time,
batteries gradually wear down and require new charge. When the indicator light is dim the unit needs to be
recharged. When the BT 3008 is connected to a power source a red LED light indicates charging status and Green
LED light indicates the unit is fully charge.

Insert the travel charge plug into your iPod Transmitter
Plug the other end of the travel charge into the appropriate electrical outlet
Remove the charger, when the charge indicator is on solid green.
Note: The BT 3008 uses a rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery, these battery have a limited number of charge
cycles and might eventually be replaced. Battery life and number of charges vary by use and settings.
Linking Your Stereo Headset and iPod Transmitter
Link your stereo headset and iPod transmitter is very simple. You will establish a Bluetooth link between your
stereo headset and the iPod transmitter with a paired link. After you set up a paired link, your stereo headset
connects to the iPod transmitter and will be ready to use.
NOTE: YOU MUST PAIR YOUR BLUTOOTH TRANSMITTER AND HEAD PHONES BEFORE YOU CAN LISTEN TO MUSIC
WIRELESSLY. “Pairing” create a link between devices equipped with Bluetooth wireless technology and allows the
BT 3008 transmitter to remember you Head Phone unique ID.
Paired Link
With the stereo headset and iPod transmitter in close proximity:
•
Attach the BT 3008 Unit to your iPod via the top connector. (See Picture)
•
Switch the Stereo Head Phone ON/OFF switch to ON position. The Stereo Head Phone power indicator will
turns on and starts blinking. (Please refer to your Head Set Manual)

From the BT 3008 transmitter turn the Power ON (Press on Button for 3 seconds) to perform Bluetooth
device discovery and pairing link. The power indicator in the stereo headset continues to blink steadily
until pairing completed. Pairing is successful when the stereo headset indicator stops blinking rapidly. The
Blue LED light now will blink at a steady rate.

Now the Stereo Head Phone unit is ready to use with your iPod.

Press play on your iPod to listen to your favorite songs wirelessly. (Please refer to iPod Manual for detail
Instruction)
Disconnecting the Bluetooth Link
To terminate the Bluetooth connection between the stereo headset and host device, turn the BT 3008 transmitter
power off by pressing the power button for 5 seconds.
Note: You may continue to use the normal functions from your iPod when the BT 3008 transmitter is connected
to your iPod.
Pairing to Additional Devices
You may also pair your BT 3008 to a Bluetooth Phone and continue to listen to your iPod wireless and never miss a
phone call. (Compatible with Saffire EP 2008 Ear Buds, Saffire SHP 2118, Motorola HT 820). Please refer to
manufacturer Web Site for more information on Bluetooth Head Phones.
Range
Your BT Pod 3008 transmitter conforms to Bluetooth Class 2 range of 30 feet (10 Meter)
