4Getting startedYour keyboard overviewMake sure you have the following items: Bluetooth keyboard, travel adapter and user manual.  The supplied items may vary. keysCaps lock status indicatorPower switchPairing ButtonBluetooth indicatorCharging socket
5EnglishCharging the keyboardThis keyboard has a rechargeable internal battery which is non-removable. Make sure the keyboard is fully charged before using it for the first time. Use only Samsung-approved chargers. Unauthorised or Non-Samsung chargers could cause damage to the device or in extreme circumstances an explosion, it could also invalidate any warranty on the product.Connect the 1.  travel adapter to the charging socket on the keyboard.Plug the 2.  travel adapter in to the wall outlet. During charging, the Power indicator will turn red. If charging does not begin, unplug the travel adapter and plug it in again.When the keyboard is fully charged, the power indicator 3. light changes to blue. Unplug the charger from the wall outlet and the keyboard.
6Repeatedly charging and discharging of the keyboard, over time will cause the battery •performance to diminish. This is normal for all rechargeable batteries.To save energy, unplug the travel adapter when not in use. The travel adapter does not •have a power switch, so you must unplug it from the outlet when not in use to avoid wasting power. The travel adapter should remain close to the socket when in use.Checking the battery levelTo check the battery level, press and hold the [Ctrl] key (located on the left corner) for 3 seconds. Depending on the battery level, the indicator flashes 5 times in one of the following colours:Battery level Power indicator colourAbove 80% Blue80 ~20%  VioletBelow 20% Red
7EnglishUsing your keyboardThis section explains how to turn the keyboard on or off, pair and connect the keyboard to the other bluetooth devices, and use various functions.Some devices, especially those that are not tested or approved by the Bluetooth Special •Interest Group (SIG), may be incompatible with your keyboard.Keep the distance between your keyboard and device as small as possible and avoid •placing your body or other objects in the signals path.
8Turning the keyboard on or offTo turn the keyboard onSlide the Power switch on (red background covered), the blue indicator flashes 4 times. Turning the keyboard on for the first time, it will automatically enter pairing mode for •approximately 3 minutes. If the keyboard enters Sleep mode when the Power switch turned on, press and hold •the Pairing button for 1 second to awake it. To turn the keyboard offSlide the Power switch off (red background uncovered).Pairing and connecting the keyboardPairing means a unique and encrypted wireless connection between two Bluetooth devices when they agree to communicate with each other.
9EnglishIn Pairing mode, two devices should be placed close enough.Pairing and connecting the keyboard with a phone or tabletEnter Pairing mode. (1.  The blue indicator stays lit and stays for 3 minutes.)With the keyboard turned on, press and hold the Pairing button for 3 seconds.•Activate the Bluetooth feature on your phone or tablet and search for the keyboard in order to 2. pair with each other (see your phone or tablet’s user manual).Select the keyboard (Samsung Bluetooth Keyboard BKB-A) from the list of devices found by 3. your phone or tablet.Type in the PIN at your keyboard (*it will not show on your screen) and then press [Enter]. 4. If they are connected successfully, the LED light will flash in every six seconds of interval after 5. rapidly flashing three times. You can also check pairing states in Bluetooth settings of your phone or tablet. Once pairing is completed, the keyboard will attempt to reconnect to the last device for 10 seconds each time you turn it on.
10The power indicator will go into sleep mode after one minute of no disturbance. •However, it will resume flashing once a key is pressed.Without charger connected, the keyboard will be turned off when bluetooth •connection is not made for 3 minutes to save energy.Reconnecting the keyboard If the connection is lost while in use: Use the Bluetooth settings on your phone or tablet.•Press any key on the keyboard or turn the power off and on again.•Disconnecting the keyboardTurn off the keyboard or use the Bluetooth settings on your phone or tablet .
11EnglishKey functions Before using the keyboard, you should set the language to be used. Where marked, the chemical symbols Hg, Cd or Pb indicate that the battery contains mercury, cadmium or lead above the reference levels in EC Directive 2006/66. The battery incorporated in this product is not user replaceable. For information on its replacement, please contact your service provider. Do not attempt to remove the battery or dispose it in a fire. Do not disassemble, crush, or puncture the battery. If you intend to discard the product, the waste collection site will take the appropriate measures for the recycling and treatment of the product, including the battery.
