ii3A1Before connecting the AC power cordto an outlet, make sure the voltagedesignation on your monitor corre-sponds to the local electrical supply.2Never insert anything metallic into themonitor openings. Doing so may create the danger of electric shock.3To avoid electric shock, never touchthe inside of the monitor. Only a qualified technician shouldopen the monitor’s case.4Never use your monitor if the powercord has been damaged. Do not allowanything to rest on the power cord,and keep the cord away from areaswhere people can trip over it.5Be sure to hold the plug, not the cord,when disconnecting the monitor froman electric socket.6Openings in the monitor cabinet areprovided for ventilation. To preventoverheating, these openings shouldnot be blocked or covered. Also,avoid using the monitor on a bed,sofa, rug, or other soft surface. Doingso may block the ventilation openingsin the bottom of the cabinet. If you putthe monitor in a bookcase or someother enclosed space, be sure to provide adequate ventilation.7Put your monitor in a location withlow humidity and a minimum of dust.   8Do not expose the monitor to rain oruse it near water (in kitchens, nearswimming pools, etc.). If the monitoraccidentally gets wet, unplug it andcontact an authorized dealer immedi-ately. You can clean the monitor witha damp cloth when necessary, but besure to unplug the monitor first.9Place the monitor on a solid surfaceand treat it carefully. The screen ismade of glass and can be damaged ifdropped, hit or scratched. 10 Locate your monitor near an easilyaccessible AC outlet.11 If your monitor does not operate normally – in particular, if there areany unusual sounds or smells comingfrom it – unplug it immediately andcontact an authorized dealer or service center.12 High temperatures can cause problems.
