BluetoothHEADSETHM3300Please read this manual before operating your headset, and keep it for future reference.Understand all safety precautions before using your headset to ensure safe and proper use.Graphics used in this manual are for illustration purposes. The actual products may vary.
Safety precautions•• When using your headset while driving, follow local regulations in the region you are in.•• Never disassemble or modify your headset for any reason. Doing this may cause theheadset to malfunction or become combustible. Bring the headset to an authorisedservice centre to repair it.•• Keep your device and all accessories out of the reach of small children or animals.Small parts may cause choking or serious injury if swallowed.•• Avoid exposing your device to very cold or very hot temperatures (below 0 °C or above 45 °C).Extreme temperatures can cause the deformation of the device and reduce thecharging capacity and life of your device.•• Do not allow your device to get wet — liquids can cause serious damage. Do not handle yourdevice with wet hands. Water damage to your device can void your manufacturer’swarranty.•• Avoid using your device’s light close to the eyes of children or animals.•• Do not use the device during a thunderstorm. Getting startedTurning the headset on or offTo turn the headset onSlide the Power switch on. The blue indicator light flashes 4 times.Turning the headset on for the first time, it will automatically enter pairing modefor approx. 3 minutes.To turn the headset offSlide the Power switch off. The indicator light flashes blue and red then turns off.Charging the headsetThis headset has a rechargeable internal battery which is non-removable. Ensure that you fullycharge the battery before using the headset for the first time.Use only Samsung-approved chargers. Unauthorised or Non-Samsung chargersmay cause an explosion or damage to the headset and could invalidate anywarranty on the product.1Connect the travel adatper to the charging socket on the headset.2Plug the travel adatper in to the wall outlet. During charging, the indicator light will turn red. Ifcharging does not begin, unplug the travel adapter and plug it in again.3When the headset is fully charged, the red indicator light changes to blue.Unplug the travel adapter from the wall outlet and the headset.• Repeatedly charging and discharging of the headset, over time will cause thebattery performance to diminish. This is normal for all rechargeable batteries.• Never make or receive calls while charging, always disconnect your headset from
the charger and answer the call.Checking the battery levelTo check the battery level, press and hold the Volume down button and the Talk button at thesame time. Depending on the battery level, the indicator light flashes 5 times in one of thefollowing colors:Battery level Indicator light colorAbove 80% Blue80 ~20% VioletBelow 20% RedWhen the battery power is lowThe headset beeps and the indicator light flashes red. If the headset powers off during a call, thecall will be automatically transferred to the phone.Wearing the headsetDepending on which ear you are going to wear the headset, simply adjust the ear hookaccordingly.You can also use the optional ear rubbers instead of the ear hook. Removethe earpiece cover and attach the ear rubber. Then, rotate the ear rubber left orright slightly depending on which ear you are going to wear the headset.
Turning the indicator light on or offThe Headset status light is there to show you the current status of your headset, but if it bothersyou at night, you can turn it off.•Press and hold both Volume buttons simultaneously to turn the indicator light on or off.•You cannot switch the indicator off while in pairing mode.•The indicator light will always work when the headset is turned on or off, whena call is received, in Pairing mode and when the battery is low.Using your headset• Activated functions and features may differ depending on the phone type.• Some devices, especially those that are not tested or approved by Bluetooth SIG,may be incompatible with your headset.To ensure you get the best performance from your headset.• Keep the distance between your headset and device as small as possible and avoid placing yourbody or other objects in the signals path.• If you usually use your mobile phone with your right hand, wear the headset on your right ear.• Covering your headset or device could effect its performance so keep contact to a minimum.
Pairing and connecting the headsetPairing means unique and encrypted wireless connection between two Bluetooth devices whenthey agree to communicate with each other.In Pairing mode, two devices should be placed close enough to each other.Pairing and connecting the headset with a phoneNFC(Near Field Communication) PairingWith NFC-enabled Samsung phone,pairing is simple.1. Activate the NFC feature on your phone.• Make sure your phone is unlock mode.2. With the headset turned on, touch your headset’s front side to the phone’s NFC antenna.3. Hold the headset to the phone until NFC pairing completes.• Some NFC-enabled devices couldn’t compatible with HM3300.• For details on NFC, see your phone’s user manual.Manual Pairing1Enter Pairing mode. (The blue indicator light stays lit and stays for 3 minutes.)• With the headset turned on, press and hold the Talk button for 3 seconds.2Activate the Bluetooth feature on your phone and search for the headset (see your phone’s usermanual).3Select the headset (HM3300) from the list of devices found by your phone.4If requested, enter the Bluetooth PIN (0000, 4 zeros) to pair and connect the headset to yourphone. Once pairing is completed, the headset will attempt to reconnect each time you turn it on.
Your headset supports the Simple Pairing feature which allows the headset to bepaired with a Bluetooth device without requesting a PIN. This feature is availablefor devices that are compliant with Bluetooth version 2.1 or higher.Active PairingWith the Active pairing feature, your headset automatically looks for a Bluetooth devicewithin range and tries to make a connection with it.Make sure the phone’s Bluetooth visibility option is set on.•In Pairing mode, press and hold the Talk button on the headset. The indicator lightcolor changes to violet from blue. The headset will attempt active paring for up to20 seconds.•The Bluetooth phone you want to connect with must not be pairedwith otherdevices. If the phone is already connected to another device, end the connectionand restart the Active pairing feature.•This feature may not be supported on some devices.Connecting with two Bluetooth phonesWith the Multi-point feature activated, your headset can be connected with twoBluetooth phones at the same time.To turn Multi-point feature onIn Pairing mode, press and hold theVolume up button. The blue indicatorlight flashes twice.To turn Multi-point feature offIn Pairing mode, press and hold theVolume down button. The red indicatorlight flashes twice.1After connecting with the first Bluetooth phone, enter Pairing mode again.2Activate the Bluetooth feature on the second Bluetooth phone and search for the headset(see your phone’s user manual).
3Select the headset (HM3300) from the list of devices found by the second Bluetoothphone.4If requested, enter the Bluetooth PIN 0000 (4 zeros) to connect the headset to the secondBluetooth phone.5Reconnect to the headset from the first Bluetooth phone.Some phones may not be able to connect as a second Bluetooth phone.Connecting the headset with a music deviceYou can also pair and connect your headset with a music device such as an MP3 player. Theprocess of connecting to a music device is the same as for connecting with a phone. Whenconnected to both devices (phone and music device) you can make or receive a call on the phonewhile listening to music from the music device.You cannot control playback using your headset.Reconnecting the headsetIf the connection is lost while in use:• Press the Talk button on the headset or use the Bluetooth menu on your phone.When the headset is paired with a phone, it will attempt to automaticallyreconnect each time you turn it on. If the Multi-point feature is activated, yourheadset will attempt to reconnect to the two most recently connected devices.This feature may not be supported on some devices.Disconnecting the headsetTurn off the headset or use the Bluetooth menu on your phone.
Using call functions•Available call functions may vary depending on the phone.• Some functions are only available on the Hands-Free profile.Making a callRedialing the latest Number dialedTo redial the latest number of the primary phone, press and hold the Talk button.To redial the latest number of the secondary phone, press the Talk button twice.Some phones open the call log list on the first press of the Talk button. Press theTalk button again to dial the selected number.Dialing a number by voicePress the Talk button. This function is only available on the primary phone.Answering a callWhen you hear incoming call tones, press the Talk button to answer a call.Rejecting a callPress and hold the Talk button to reject a call when a call comes in.If you receive calls on both connected phones at the same time you can onlyanswer or reject the call on the primary phone.Ending a callPress the Talk button to end a call.Options available during a call
You can use the following functions during the call.Adjusting the volumePress the Volume up or down button to adjust the volume.You will hear a beep when the volume level of the headset reaches it’s lowest orhighest level.Muting the microphonePress and hold the Volume up or down button to turn the microphone off so that the person withwhom you are speaking cannot hear you. When the microphone is turned off, the headset beepsat regular intervals. Press and hold the Volume up or down button again to turn the microphoneback on.Transferring a call from the phone to the headsetPress the Talk button to transfer a call from the phone to the headset.Placing a call on holdPress and hold the Talk button to place the current call on hold.Answering a second call• Press the Talk button to end the first call and answer a second callwhen you hear call waiting tones.• Press and hold the Talk button to place the first call on hold and answer asecond call when you hear call waiting tones.To switch between the current call and the held call,press and hold the Talk button.
Using voice promptsVoice prompts will inform you about the current status of the headset and usage instructions. Ifyou can’t hear any voice prompts, make sure the voice prompt feature is turned on.Turning the voice prompts on or offTo turn the voice prompts onIn Pairing mode, press and hold the Volume up button for 3 seconds. You will hear“Voice prompt is on”To turn the voice prompts offIn Pairing mode, press and hold the Volume down button for 3 seconds. You will hear“Voice prompts is off”.Changing the languageSupported languages may vary depending on the region in which it was purchased.• In Pairing mode, press both volume buttons simultaneously to select a language.Resetting the headsetWhen the headset is paired with a device, it automatically saves connection and featuresettings,such as the Bluetooth address or device type of the mobile phone.If you want to reset the connection settings in the headset:• In Pairing mode, press and hold both Volume buttons and Talk button at the sametime for 3 seconds. The blue indicator light flashes 4 times.When you reset the headset, all connection settings in the headset will be deletedand the connection with your phone will be lost. In order to use the headset, youwill have to pair it again.

Therefore, you shouldnot expect any interference with standard, consumer-grade electronic equipment.Can other Bluetoothphone users hear myconversation?When you pair your headset to your Bluetooth phone, youare creating a private link between only these twoBluetooth devices. The wireless Bluetooth technology usedin your headset is not easily monitored by third partiesbecause Bluetooth wireless signals are significantly lowerin radio frequency power than those produced by a typicalmobile phone.Why do I hear an echowhile on a call?Adjust the headset volume, or move to another area andtry again.How do I clean myheadset?Wipe it with a soft dry cloth.The headset does notfully charge.The headset and the travel adapter may not have beenconnected properly.Separate the headset from the traveladapter, reconnect, and charge the headset.I cannot use all thefeatures described inthe manual.Available features may vary depending on theconnected device.
