Connecting NEXiO with peripherals
This part explains connecting NEXiO with peripherals such as AC
Adapter, Cradle and using.
NEXiO power is supplied with AC Adapter or internal battery.
Battery should be sufficiently charged with AC adapter to be in
use.
Note
Sufficiently charge internal battery.
It takes 2 1/2 hours to fully charge internal battery. If
you want to charge quickly, charge 2 hours and you will
be able to use.

pressing cover against NEXiO, slide two lock buttons to arrow
direction and fix cover.

Basic uses of NEXiO
Turning on/off NEXiO
When you are first using NEXiO, you have to charge

internal battery sufficiently with AC Adapter before using. (Refer to
"Charging battery")
Press power button on the left side of NEXiO, then NEXiO will be
turned on.
When you turn on NEXiO for the first time, Stylus calibration
setting screen will appear.

When you turn on NEXiO for the first time, + mark will be shown
on Stylus calibration setting screen. Tap on + mark to correspond
stylus and the location on screen.
1. Follow instructions on screen and tap on the + marks with
stylus. + marks disappears after tapping 5 times.

2. Tap screen once, then setting will be completed and NEXiO
screen appears.
Turning off NEXiO
Press power button once more, then NEXiO will be turned off.
Or you can tap Start > Suspend on taskbar with stylus.
NEXiO runs on Flash memory, so when you turn off and on
again, last screen status before turning off will be shown.
Tap is softly pressing LCD screen with stylus. Refer to
Note
"Using Stylus" for more information.
NEXiO is automatically turned off when no action is
occured in set time. To change setting, refer to "...".
Learning NEXiO Program
When you turn on NEXiO and finish Stylus calibration setting,
NEXiO Program appears. NEXiO Program is a launch program
that lets you run programs easily.

Using Stylus
Stylus is a screen touch pen to operate NEXiO, and corresponds
to mouse in computers. In this section, you will learn how to input
using stylus.
Always use stylus to input data into screen. LCD screen

will be damaged if you use sharp tools, so be careful.
Tap
Pressing screen one time. Corresponds to
clicking left button in mouse.
You can select item or run program by
tapping.
Double Tap
Pressing screen two times continuously.
Corresponds to double clicking left button in

Entering Text
There are several ways to enter text in NEXiO.
- Using Software Keyboard which is internally embedded in NEXiO
- Using External Keyboard which is an option (refer to Accessory
Guide)
Software Keyboard is provided in NEXiO. so let's learn how to
use Software Keyboard with stylus.
Using Software Keyboard
Software Keyboard is a keyboard shown on the screen. Software
Keyboard is made up of Keyboard Mode, Hand Writing Mode, and
Internet Mode.
Tap Keyboard (그림) Icon on the taskbar, then Software Keyboard
will appear.
When you first run Keyboard, Small Size Keyboard in Keyboard
Mode will be shown. When you change keyboard mode and run
keyboard again, recently changed mode will be shown.

Retting(Normalizing NEXiO)
You can reset to normalize NEXiO when NEXiO is not operating
properly.
There are two ways of resetting : Soft reset, which is just shutting
down all running programs, and hard reset, which is initializing
NEXiO to the state when you first bought it.
Soft Reset
When you soft reset, all running programs are shut down and
NEXiO is turned on again.
To soft reset, press reset hole in the rear side with stylus.

Hard Reset
When NEXiO does not operate normally even after soft resetting,
hard reset. When you hard reset, NEXiO is initialized to the state
when you first bought it.
When you hard reset, data and password are deleted.
Note
Reter to "Backup and restore" to save data before hard reset.
To hard reset, press reset hole in the rear side with stylus while
you are pressing power button.

Battery Disposal
Do not put rechargeable batteries or products powered by non-removable
rechargeable batteries in the garbage.

batteries that you cannot use or recharge any longer.
Follow all local regulations when disposing of old batteries.
Power Cord Requirements
The power cord set (wall plug, cable and AC adapter plug) you received
with your computer meets the requirements for use in the country where
you purchased your equipment.
Power cord sets for use in other countries must meet the requirements of
the country where you use the computer. For more information on power
cord set requirements, contact your authorized dealer, reseller, or service
provider.
General Requirements
The requirements listed below are applicable to all countries:
· 227The length of the power cord set must be at least 6.00 feet (1.
8m) and a maximum of 9.75 feet (3.0m).
· All power cord sets must be approved by an acceptable accredited
agency responsible for evaluation in the country where the power cord
set will be used.
· The power cord set must have a minimum current capacity of 7 A
and a nominal voltage rating of 125 or 250 volts AC, as required by
each country's power system.
· The appliance coupler must meet the mechanical configuration of
an EN 60 320/IEC 320 Standard Sheet C13 connector, for mating with
appliance inlet on the computer.
Regulatory Compliance Statements
Wireless Guidance
Low power, Radio LAN type devices (radio frequency (RF) wireless
communication devices), operating in the 2.4 GHz Band, may be present
(embedded) in your notebook system. The following section is a general
overview of considerations while operating a wireless device.
Additional limitations, cautions, and concerns for specific countries are listed
in the specific country sections (or country group sections). The wireless
devices in your system are only qualified for use in the countries identified
by the Radio Approval Marks on the system rating label. If the country you
will be using the wireless device in, is not listed, please contact your local
Radio Approval agency for requirements. Wireless devices are closely

regulated and use may not be allowed.
The power output of the wireless device or devices that may be embedded
in your notebook is well below the RF exposure limits as known at this
time. Because the wireless devices (which may be embedded into your
notebook) emit less energy than is allowed in radio frequency safety
standards and recommendations, manufacturer believes these devices are
safe for use. Regardless of the power levels, care should be taken to
minimize human contact during normal operation.
This transmitter must not be collocated or operate in conjunction with any
other antenna or transmitter.
Some circumstances require restrictions on wireless devices. Examples of
common restrictions are listed below:
Radio frequency wireless communication can interfere with equipment on
commercial aircraft. Current aviation regulations require wireless devices to
be turned off while traveling in an airplane. 802.11B (also known as
wireless Ethernet or Wifi) and Bluetooth communication devices are

do not operate the wireless device unless all covers and shields are in
place and the system is fully assembled.

Body-worn Operation
This device was tested for typical body-worn operations with the
device directly contacted to the human body to the back and side of
the Hand PC. To maintain compliance with FCC RF exposure
compliance requirements, use other accessories should not contain
metallic components in its assembly. The use of accessories that do
not satisfy these requirements may not comply with FCC RF exposure
compliance requirements, and should be avoided.
Face Held Operation
This device was tested for Face Held operations with the separation
distance of 2.5 cm between the microphone of the device to the
human face. While using face held operation, hold the Hand PC at
least 2.5 cm(1 inch) from your face and speak in a normal voice.

LIMITED WARRANTY TO ORIGINAL PURCHASER
This SAMSUNG brand product, as supplied and distributed by Samsung
Electronics America, Inc. (SAMSUNG) and delivered new, in the original
carton to the original consumer purchaser, is warranted by SAMSUNG
against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for a limited
warranty period of:
One (1) Year Parts and Labor Carry-In/Ship-In Service*
(*90 Days Parts and Labor for Commercial Use)
This limited warranty begins on the original date of purchase, and is valid
only on products purchased and used in the United States. To receive
warranty service, the purchaser must contact SAMSUNG for problem
determination and service procedures. Warranty service can only be
performed by a SAMSUNG authorized service center. The original dated
bill of sale must be presented upon request as proof of purchase to
SAMSUNG or SAMSUNG's authorized service center. Transportation of the
product to and from the service center is the responsibility of the purchaser.
SAMSUNG will repair or replace this product, at our option and at no
charge as stipulated herein, with new or reconditioned parts or products if
found to be defective during the limited warranty period specified above.
All replaced parts and products become the property of SAMSUNG and
must be returned to SAMSUNG. Replacement parts and products assume
the remaining original warranty, or ninety (90) days, whichever is longer.
