Keyboard
(KB-160E)
The KB-160E Keyboard is NEXiO S160’s exclusive keyboard which
combines functionality and mobility.
You may use the external keyboard immediately by attaching it to
NEXiO. Also, when on the run, the keyboard can be folded and
used as a protective cover for the LCD.

Attaching/Removing the Keyboard
To Attach the Keyboard
1 Place the keyboard on top of NEXiO, and then align the guide rib
on keyboard with the keyboard hole on the bottom of NEXiO.

Push the bottom of the keyboard down to attach it to NEXiO.
The keyboard icon (
) will appear in the NEXiO task bar.
Note You will hear a sound when the keyboard is connected or disconnected
from NEXiO.
To Remove the Keyboard
1 While (a) holding hook bar on keyboard to the right, (b) slide the
keyboard toward the bottom side of NEXiO.
Keyboard is now disconnected.
Using the Keyboard
Hot Keys
Ctrl Key
Fn Key
Shift Key
Hot Keys Executes the Calendar, Contact and Messenger programs.
Fn Key
Allows you to use the orange keys.
Ctrl Key
Allows you to use the green keys.
Shift Key Allows you to type capital letters or the symbols on the
upper part of the keys.
Note The keyboard will not work when NEXiO’s Hold Button is activated or
when the LCD is turned off.
Note Due to the fewer number of keys (53) than a standard keyboard, the fol-
lowing features are not supported.
We recommend using the software keyboard in the following instances:
- The features on a standard keyboard are activated using Ctrl + the
arrow keys.
- Key entry when using the RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) to activate
the PC’s Client terminal.
To Lock Internal Software Keyboard
You can lock the NEXiO’s internal software keyboard when using
the external keyboard.
1 Tap on the extended keyboard (
) icon in NEXiO’s task bar.
"Lock Soft Keyboard" message appears.
2 Tap the message. The software keyboard will be locked, and (
icon will replace (
) icon in the NEXiO’s taskbar.
3 Tap on this message again to activate the software keyboard.
To Keep Keyboard while not in Use
Attach the keyboard to the underside of NEXiO when not in use.
Turn the NEXiO so its LCD is down, and attach keyboard to the
backside. Use the same method explained above.
