Accessing more information
Connecting the Keyboard Cover
To turn on the device, press and hold the Power key
for a few seconds.
Visit www.samsung.com/ca to view device
information, the user manual, and more.
Attach the device to the stand.
Ensure that the rear camera is correctly aligned
with the camera hole in the stand.
Connect the keyboard dock port at the bottom of
the device to the connector on the keyboard, and
then set the device in position.
Before turning on your device for the first
time, you must connect the device to a power
supply.

If your device is frozen and unresponsive, press and hold the
Power key for more than 10 seconds until the device turns off.
Then, press and hold the Power key again to restart it.

The device and the Keyboard Cover contain
magnets. The American Heart Association (US) and
the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory
Agency (UK) both warn that magnets can affect the
operation of implanted pacemakers, cardioverters,
defibrillators, insulin pumps or other electro medical
devices (collectively, “Medical Device”) within the
range of 15 cm (6 inches). If you are a user of any of
these Medical Devices, DO NOT USE THIS DEVICE AND
THE KEYBOARD COVER UNLESS YOU HAVE CONSULTED
WITH YOUR PHYSICIAN.
Follow the warning information provided below to
prevent incidents such as fire or explosion
• Do not expose the device to physical impact or damage.
• Use manufacturer-approved batteries, chargers, accessories,
and supplies.
• Prevent the multipurpose jack from contacting conductive
elements, such as metal or liquids.

• If any part of the device is cracked or broken, stop using the

Follow the warnings below to prevent injury to people

• Do not allow children or animals to chew or suck the device.
• Do not poke eyes, ears, or other body parts with the device or
insert the device into the mouth.
• If the device has a camera flash or light, do not use it close to
the eyes of people or animals.
• The device can be used in locations with an ambient
temperature of 0°C to 35°C. You can store the device at an
ambient temperature of -20°C to 50°C. Using or storing the
device outside of the recommended temperature ranges may
damage the device or reduce the battery’s lifespan.
• Do not store your device near or in heaters, microwaves,
cooking equipment, or high pressure containers.
• Keep your device dry.
• Do not use your device outdoor during a thunderstorm.
• Comply with all safety warnings and regulations regarding
mobile device usage while operating a vehicle.
To prevent possible hearing damage when using
a headset, do not listen to sound at high volume
for long periods.

Exposure to Radio Frequency (RF) Signals

Your wireless device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed
and manufactured not to exceed the exposurel imits for radio
frequency (RF) energy set by the Federal Communications

Although your device is quite sturdy, it is a complex piece of
equipment and can be broken. Avoid dropping, hitting, bending,

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the
limits of a Class B digital device. These limits are designed to
provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a
residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can
radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in
accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference
to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that
interference will not occur in a particular installation; if this
equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television
reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to
the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful
interference,and (2) this device must accept any interference received,
including interference that may cause undesired operation.
The exposure l imit set by the FCC for wireless mobile devices
employs a unit of measurement known as the Specfic Absorption
Rate (SAR). The SAR is a measure of the rate of absorption of RF
energy by the human body expressed in units of watts per kilogram
(W/kg). The FCC requires wireless devices to comply with a safety
limit of 1.6 watts per kilogram (1.6 W/kg). The FCC exposure limit
incorporates a substantial margin of safety to give additional
protection to the public and to account for any variations in
measurements. SAR tests are conducted using recommended
operating positions accepted by the FCC with the device transmitting
at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands.
Although the SAR is determined at the highest certified power level ,
the actual SAR level of the devicce while operating can be well
below the maximum value. This is because the device is designed to
operate at multiple power levels so as to use only the power required
to reach the network. In general, the closer you are to a wireless base
station antenna, the lower the power output.
Before a new model device is available for sale to the public, it must
be tested and certified to the it does not exceed the exposure limit
established by the FCC. Tests for each model are performed in
positions and locations (e.g. near the body) as required
by the FCC.
