6 Getting startedNote: •You can user the phone while it is charging.•Keeping the charger plugged to the mobile phone whenthe battery is fully charged will not damage the battery.The only way to turn off the charger is to unplug it, so itis advisable to use an easily accessible power socket. •If you do not intend to use your phone for several days,we recommend that you remove the battery.•If a fully charged battery left unused, it will lost its chargeover time.•If a battery is being used for the first time or the batteryhas not been used for a prolonged period, it may takelonger time to recharge.Insert a Micro SD card (Memory card)You can expand the memory of your phone byadding a micro-SD card.1Unlock the memory card cover.2Align your micro-SD card with the slot. Put it inplace.3Press down the card holder and pull it until it islocked.Connect to your PCData communication software (Mobile PhoneTools) offers instant sychronization between yourphone and your computer. You can use thesoftware for the data synchronization between yourphone and PC, like phonebook, calendar, SMSmessages, and audio/video/picture files. Install MobilePhoneTools on your PC1Insert the supplied Data communicationsoftware into the CD drive.2Run the autorun.exe program.3Make selections as prompted, and installationstarts automatically.
Getting started 7Connecting your Phone to the PC 1Connect your phone to the PC using thesupplied USB cable or through the Bluetooth. 2When using the USB cable for connection,select COM port on your phone.  3On your PC, double click the MobilePhoneToolsicon, then the connected icon is displayed. Customize your phoneCustomize your phone to match your preferences.Set time & date 1Check that your phone is turned on. Enter thePIN code if required.2On the home screen, go to  >Settings>General>Time & date.3Select Set time/Set date: tap on icon   or until you reach the desired digits.Note: •The PIN code is preconfigured and communicated toyou by your network operator or retailer.•If you enter an incorrect PIN code three times insuccession, your SIM card will be blocked. To unblock it,you must request the PUK code from your operator.•If you enter an incorrect PUK code ten times insuccession, the SIM card will be locked permanently.When this happens, please contact your networkoperator or retailer.ProfilesThe profiles are defined for several scenes. Theyconsist of the settings for ringtones, volume, andothers. With preset profiles, you can easily adjustthe settings for incoming calls and messages asdesired.  1Go to Profiles, tap on Activate to activate theprofile.2Tap on Modify to modify ringtone, volume andothers.Note: If you select Flight mode, you disable the connectionbetween your phone and your mobile phone network.
8 Basic function  Use basic call functionsLearn to make or answer a call and use basic callfunctions.Make a call1Tap on   to display dial pad, and tap on thenumeric icons to enter the phone number.2Press ( to dial the number.3Press ) to hang up.Note: For international calls, long press   to enter the"+" sign for the international prefix.Answer and end a call 1Press  ( to answer the call (Press the sidevolume key to adjust the volume).2Tap on H-free to select hands free mode.3Press ) to hang up.Note: You can use the supplied headset to answer or end acall.Make a conference callIf network applicable, you can handle two or morecalls, or make a conference call.1During a call, enter a phone number, and thenpress  ( to dial the number. In Europe, the standard emergency number is 112;in the UK, it is 999.Receive and send messagesYou can use the Messaging menu to send textmessage, multimedia message and E-mails.Send a SMS message1Select >Messaging>Create SMS.2Write your text message.3Tap on Send to send the message.Send a MMS message1Select >Messaging>Create MMS. 2Enter the contact number (To), a copy (Cc), ablind copy (Bcc) and subject.3Edit contents, and tap on Options  to addmultimedia contents (photo, audio, video,attachment or bookmark text).4Tap on Done to send the Multimedia message.Note: Copyright protected pictures and sound cannot besent by MMS.Send an E-mail1Go to E-mail  >  Email accounts >  Options  >New account.
