Transferring a mobile phone’s Phonebook to the BT1000
With the BT1000 and mobile phone connected, press the “V-” for 3 seconds or until the
blue LED indictor comes on. The BT1000 will announce “Loading Phonebook. Please
wait”. The unit will continue to announce “Please wait” every 30 seconds until the process
is complete. When the phone transfer is complete the BT1000 will announce “Contacts
Saved” and the amount of SIM and phone memory remaining. If the memory is depleted
the BT1000 will prompt “Phonebook Full”. If the phonebook transfer is unsuccessful the
unit will announce “Loading Phonebook Failed”. Make sure your mobile phone supports the
transfer function. The BT1000 will store a maximum of 1000 phone numbers

REMOVING PHONEBOOK ENTRIES
In standby mode, press and hold the “V+” and “V-” buttons simultaneously for 6 seconds.
The BT1000 will announce “Phonebook Deleted” and the entire phonebook will be deleted from the unit’s memory.
TURNING ON/OFF THE TEXT-TO-SPEECH FUNCTION
In standby mode, press and hold the “V+” button for 6 seconds. “Voice Prompt On” or
“Voice Prompt Off” will be announced to denote the unit’s current status.
Restore default settings
To restore the BT1000 to its original setting, press and hold the “V+” and “V-” buttons
simultaneously for 10 seconds until the blue LED flashes rapidly. Press and hold the “V+”
and “V-” buttons simultaneously for 3 more seconds to power off the unit automatically.
When the process is complete the BT1000 will announce “Set Factory Default Complete”.

This warranty does not apply to product which has water or physically damaged by accident or which has been misused,

The original dated sales slip or proof of purchase will establish warranty eligibility. If the product should prove defective
within the warranty period, return the product with proof of purchase to Scosche Industries Inc. Scosche, at its option, will
replace or repair the product free of charge and return the product postage paid. In no event shall Scosche Industries, Inc.
be responsible for claims beyond the replacement value of the defective product, or in any way be liable or responsible

INSTALLATION CAUTIONS & WARNINGS:
BEFORE BEGINNING, check all vehicle manufacturer cautions and warnings regarding
electrical service (AIR BAGS, ABS BRAKES, ENGINE/BODY COMPUTER AND BATTERY).
PLAN OUT YOUR INSTALLATION. You should pre-determine the location of the
microphone, remote control andspeaker box. This will save time and ease the installation
process.
USE A VOLT/OHM METER: We recommend the use of a LED style test light or Volt/Ohm
meter to test and locate all connections. Test lights could possibly damage a vehicle’s
computer system or cause an airbag to deploy.
DO NOT ROUTE ANY WIRING THAT MAY BECOME ENTANGLED with the brake/gas
pedals, steering column, or any other moving parts in the vehicle.
OPERATION
Making a Call
Calls may be initiated from your mobile phone or directly from the BT1000 using voice-dial commands. Note:
Voice-dial feature must be supported by your mobile phone.
Making Calls from your Mobile Phone
Dial directly from your mobile phone. The call is automatically connected to the BT1000.
Receiving A Call
The BT1000 will signal an incoming call with the announcement “Call from (Name or Number)”. Press the MFB
once on the BT1000 to answer the call.
ENDING A Call
During the call press the MFB to end the call. The BT1000 will announce “End call”.
REJECTING A Call
To reject an incoming call press and hold the MFB for 3 seconds The BT1000 will
announce “Reject call Successful”.
Making A Call using voice dial
Note: Make sure your mobile phone is voice-dial enabled. In Standby mode, short press the MFB. When you
hear a beep, say the voice tag. Important: Make sure to record a voice tag before using the voice-dial function.
This function is only applicable to mobile phones with Bluetooth Hands-Free Profile. Functionality varies
depending on the mobile phone model. Please refer to your mobile phone’s user guide for additional information.
Last Number Re-Dialing
Press the “MFB” button twice to re-dialing the last number; The car kit announced” Redialing”.
Transferring Calls
Speakerphone to Mobile Phone - During a call, Short press “V+” and “V-” button and the call is routed to your
mobile phone.
Mobile Phone to Speakerphone - Press the “MFB” button once and the call is routed back to your mobile phone.
ADJUSTING THE VOLUME (ACTIVE CALL)
To Increase: Press the volume button “V+” to increase the volume by one level. Repeat until desired level is
reached.
To Decrease: Press the volume button “V-” to decrease the volume by one level. Repeat until desired level is
reached.
TEXT-TO-SPEECH VOLUME (BT1000 CALLER ID ANNOUNCE)
To Increase: In standby mode press the volume button “V+” to increase the volume by one level. Repeat until
desired level is reached.
To Decrease: In standby mode press the volume button “V-” to decrease the volume by one level. Repeat until
desired level is reached.
ANSWERING OR REJECTING A SECOND CALL
To Answer: During a call with a second incoming call, short press the MFB to answer the second call and put
the first call on hold.
To Reject: During a call with a second incoming call, press the MFB for 3 seconds to reject the second call.
SWAPPING CALLS
1. During a three-way call, press the MFB for 3 seconds to swap the call.
2. During a three-way call, short press the MFB to end the current call and automatically
switch to one of the other calls.
TEXT-TO-SPEECH LANGUAGE OPTIONS
Press and hold the “V+” button for 3 seconds and the BT1000 will announce “Select
language”. Repeat the process to select the desired language in the following order:
English, French, Italian, German & Spanish.
PAIRING, CONNECTION & DISCONNECTION
TURNING ON/OFF
ON: The BT1000 will switch on automatically when the ignition key is turned. Wait until you hear “Power on”
and the blue LED indicator light is on for 3 seconds. To turn on/off manually press & hold MFB for 3 seconds.
Press the “MFB” button for 3 seconds if you have turned the ignition key. Until you hear “power on” and the Blue
LED indicator light 3secs.
INSTALLATION

OFF: The BT1000 will turn off automatically when the ignition is off. Press the “MFB” button for 3 seconds if you
have turned the ignition key. Until you hear “power off”.
EASY PAIRING
Note: The BT1000 must be paired with your mobile phone before use.
The BT1000 includes an “Easy” pairing feature that will automatically re-connect it to the most recently paired
device. If the most recent device is not present within 5 seconds, then the BT1000 will AUTOMATICALLY go into
pairing mode and you will hear the announcement “Power on” followed by the announcement “Pairing phone please place your phone in pairing mode and enter PIN code 0000”. The blue LED with flash every (1) second.
MANUAL PAIRING
1. Power off the BT1000.
2. Press and hold the Multi-function Button (MFB) for 6 seconds until you hear the announcement “Power on”
followed by the announcement “Pairing phone - please place your phone in pairing mode and enter PIN code
“0000”. The blue LED will flash every (1) second.
3. Activate the Bluetooth feature from your phone’s menu. The phone will search all Bluetooth devices within 10
meters (30 ft.) and display them as a list.
4. Select “BT1000” from the list. Enter “0000” to pair and connect the BT1000 to your phone. If you are using
an Apple iPhone, you can just hit “OK” to pair to the BT1000.
5. The blue LED will blink when both devices are successfully paired, and you will hear the BT1000 announce:
“Pairing successful”.
Note: If the pairing cannot be completed with 2 minutes of pairing mode activation the BT1000 will power
down. The BT1000 will announce “Pairing failed - please put your phone in pairing mode and try again.” Please
repeat steps 2 through 4.
CONNECTION
If the BT1000 and the mobile phone are disconnected, connection may be restored by the following steps:
1. If the BT1000 has been switched off, turn on power and the connection will be restored automatically if set to
“Trusted” on phone”.
2. If the mobile phone has been switched off, turn on the mobile phone and restore the connection either through
the phone’s menu or by pressing the MFB once.
3. If the BT1000 and phone are out of range, make sure the devices are within working range (10 meters) and
press the MFB once.
Note: Once the connection is successful the BT1000 will announce “Phone is ready for use,” and the blue LED will
flash every 3 seconds.
DISCONNECTION
If the BT1000 needs to be disconnected from the phone connection (Example: To connect your phone to another
device) the device may be disconnected using the following steps:
1. Turn off the BT1000.
2. Disconnect the BT1000 using the phone’s menu.
Note: Once disconnection is successful the BT1000 will announce “Disconnect complete.”
WIRING
Yellow: +12V Constant
Connect the Yellow wire to a +12V constant power source (continuous power). We
recommend the battery positive terminal. This wire must be connected for the
system to
function correctly.
Red: +12V Switched
Connect the Red wire to a +12V switched IGN or ACC power source in the vehicle
(controlled with the vehicle key).
Black: <->12V Ground
Connect to the metal body of the vehicle using a sheet metal screw and a star
washer to ensure a good ground. Scrape away any paint or debris from the ground
location.
Pink: <-> Negative Mute Output
Connect to the Negative “Phone” or “Mute” input of stereo (if available). Some car
stereos include an input wire to be used with a cellular phone kit. Refer to your
stereo’s user guide to see if you have this connection available.
