1. Preparation for Installation:
Before interconnecting the individual components of the system, an equipment configuration should be decided upon
The system components can be positioned in many different ways allowing for installation in various space
allocations. Any cartridges should be installed in the laser printer in accordance with the manufacturers instructions
Minimum site requirements are defined in SCOP-SAIOO Installation Procedures.
2. Connecting the System:
Use the following procedure to connect the various components. Check the block for each step as it is completed. Use
MA in a block when that step is not applicable
D Connect the printer cable to the printer connector on the back of the printer and to the appropriate outlet labeled
“printer” on the hack of the central unit
3 Connect the Printer Power Cord to the power connector on the rear of the Printer, then to the Power Outlet,
3 Connect the Touchscreen Cable if present, to the serial port at the rear of the Central unit labeled ‘Tmrchscreen”,
:| Connect the Monitor Cable to the DB15 Connector at the rear of the central unit labeled “Monitor".
jComect the monitor power cord to the power connector at the rear of the monitor. then to the power outlet
:| Connect the long Telemetry Cable (if used) between the DB9 connector at the rear of the telemetry receiver modrfle
and the DB9 cormector at the rear of the central unit, both labeled ”Telemetry Cable".

D Connect the central unit power cord to the power connector at the rear of the central unit, then to the power outlet.
3 Connect the antenna wire attached to the telemetry antenna to the 80-239 jack provided at the rear of the receiver
module. The anterma should be placed at least 12” avtmy from the central unit. Avoid coiling the antenna wires to
cut down on the possibility of interference caused by magnetic fields.
3 Connect the power wire jack to the receptacle on the back of the receiver module, and plug the transformer into an
electrical outlet.
3 Plug the keyboard cable into the jack provided on the rear of the central unit.
If this system is not equipped for transtelephonic monitoring, go to step 3.
3 Connect the transtelephonic R8232 cable between the R5232 connector at the rear of the central unit labeled
“Tmnstelephonic Cable" and the RSZSZ connector at the rear of the transtelephonic unit
3 Connect the transtelephonic unit power cord to the power outlet.
3 Connect phone wires provided between the R11 1 jacks on the back of the transtelephonic unit and the M11 jacks
provided for the individual phone lines,
3 Connect the Audio Cable to the R11 1 jack provided on the transtelephonic unit and to the R.“ 1 jack provided on the
back of the central unit, both label “Audio Cable".
3 Connect the operator headset to the central tmit by inserting the black and white plugs into the jacks located on the
tram of the central unit
j Assemble each patient kit in accordance with the patient kit manual.
3. System Set Up and Calibration:
D Turn each individual power switch to the on position Upon power-up, the central unit will perform a self test, while
the laser printer will begin its wami-up period. If the system self tests are satisfactory, the system software will
automatically boot, and the TOP MENU will be displayed (See Figure I), If the system self tests are unsatisfactory,
an error message will be displayed on the screen Record the error message and call ScottCalc for assistance,
