HOW DOES IT WORK?
Simply press the TALK button and tell Alfie what you need.
“Alfie, I need a gift recommendation for my friend’s 30th birthday.”
“Alfie, fetch me laundry detergent.”
“Alfie, I’d like to buy a new toaster.”
“Alfie, I need a dozen organic eggs.”

Alfie will receive your request and reply within a short time directly to the Alfie device and the
companion app. Alfie always looks for the best prices on items and never applies markups.
Let’s get started
Plug provided power adaptor into Alfie, then plug power
adaptor into wall outlet.
For iOS only: Go to wireless settings on your iOS device
and select the network “Alfie™-XXX”.
Download the Kenmore Alfie™ app to your smartphone.
For iOS only: reopen the Kenmore Alfie app.
Select your wireless network from the list and enter the
network password (if required).
Wait until Alfie connects to the network. When connected,
the light will turn blue and a sound will be played.
Open the app, select “Get Started” and follow the instructions
on the screen to set up Alfie.
Sign in with your existing Shop Your Way account information,
or sign up to create a new account.
Press and hold both buttons on the Alfie device simultaneously
for 5 seconds until the light ring turns green.
That’s it! Alfie is ready to go.

How do I restart Alfie?
If Alfie freezes or experiences any other unexpected behavior, hold both buttons until the
green led turns on (configuration mode), then press and hold the small button. The device
will perform a restart.

Send a request
– Tap the talk button to send a request. You will see the light
		 ring indicating that Alfie is listening.
– Tap to stop recording. The recording light will turn off.
– Recording will stop automatically if you stop talking for
		 more than 5 seconds.
– Alfie will tell you the request has been received.
– Alfie communicates using normal conversation. No special
		 “computer” speak is needed. Just talk normally.

Receiving your responses
– When you receive a new response, the listen button
		 will light up.
– Tap to listen. The playback light will turn on, and all of
		 your responses will be played in sequence.
– Tap to stop listening. The playback light will turn off.
Responses are communicated audibly from Alfie and via the
app on your smartphone, where you can also view photos.
Note: Alfie is rechargeable and has a built-in magnet. Alfie can be charged and attached to metal surfaces such
as appliances as desired. Or Alfie can remain plugged with the provided power adaptor.
