WARNINGA
The WanderGuard signaling device is designed for
wrist placement. Contact WanderGuard Customer
Service at 800-824-2996 tor special instructions ii ankle
placement or other non-standard use is intended.
1) Slip the hand through the slot in the signaling deVice. Fig. 2.
Be sure the snaps are positioned as shown.
2) Place the band around the resident's wrist with the
signaling device atop the wrist, like a wristwatch.
3) Slip the lips of two fingers -
between the resident‘s wrist y Figure 3
and the band to gauge tor '
proper fir. Fig. 3. Connect the
band onto the rivet as shown.
4) Check to he sure the band
will not slip over the resident's hand. and that it is loose
enough (or comlort and to allow for washing underneath.
5) Once correct band adiustment '
is made. double the remaining ‘
portion oi the band overthe rivet,
then secure it with the locking tab.

6) Make certain the locking snap is
secure, then trim off the excess band,

Make regular Inspections lo contirm the band is in place.
Test the device daily per manutaeturer’s instructions
and record the results in the resident's records. Failure
to do so could result in iniury or death to a person in
your care.

32013 Activation

The WanderGuard signaling device is not compatible with the FirstQ departure
alert system. Before activating, check to make sure the signaling device you've
received does not have a black back,
The WanderGuard signaling device. Model 32013. is ‘oif’when shipped to you.
To turn “on" (activate) the signaling device:

Turn ‘on’ (activate) the device. Use a use pen to

by standing a minimum at three feet
trom the door. Open the door. The alarm
should soundTest the devvca in
accordance with the instructions in the
WanderGuard User Manual. on the
signaling device tester. or see "Testing”.

Note the date on the back of the device.
This is the last day the device can be
activated to provide approximately 90
days of useful lite. Record the date in
the resident’s records.

Testing with a signaling device tester
1) Point the tester toward the signaling device. and hold it within two leet of the
signaling device. No other signaling devices should be Within six feet of the
tester,
2) Press the button. The TEST light will flash red or green for three seconds. then
turn green to indicate the signaling device is functioning properly.
3) if the tester‘s TEST Iightdoes not turn green. refer to WanderGuard signaling
device tester instructions.
Testing wlthout a signaling device tester
1) Move the signaling device within three feet of a properly operating
WanderGuard monitor.
2) Open the door (or activate a passive infrared sensor). The alarm sounds it
the signaling device is active.
3) Move signaling device away from the monitored area and reset alarm.

TEST BEFORE USING
The components inside this signaling
device were carefully tested prior to
sealing the case. However. It is
impossible to pretest the activation
switch (see Activation section of these
Instructions.) it is therefore Important.
after activation, to test the signaling
device before putting it into use.
Thereafter, test the device daily and
record the results in the resident’s
records. if a signaling device fails to
activate call WanderGuard Customer
Service at 800—824-2996.
Do not use more than one signaling
device on a resident.Two signaling
devices, It brought very close together.

monitor and the alarm will not sound.
WanderGuard equipment should be
operated only by trained personnel who
are thoroughly familiar with the
procedures outlined in the User Manual.
Failure to comply could result In injury

device should be tested daily (and alter

operating life
Due to variances in manufacturing dates
by the battery manufacturer and by
WanderGuard, model 32013 has up to a
six month shell life from the manufacturing
date. Model 32013 should be acilvated
by the date stamped on back oi the
case to provide approximately 50 days
of useful life.
