The push/pull motion releases the steam as you mop. Steam output is adjusted by the speed of your moping motion. 3 Open the water tank cap, use the filling flask to fill the tank with water, then replace & tighten the cap. ** TIP: The initial use of the steam mop may cause streaking or clouding due to the residue from chemicals and polish previously used on your floors. Regular use of the steam mop will diminish this effect. For stubborn cases, you may need to rinse the floor with a mixture of one part vinegar and two parts water. Remember, a clean mop pad is essential for residue removal. * Under controlled test conditions, results may vary. For brighter, streak free floors, try Problem Resolution Checklist P P P P P P Issue Resolution The Shark® Steam Mop will not turn-on. Ensure the power cord is plugged in correctly to a working 120 volt outlet. Shark® Steam Mop will not make steam. Check the water tank. If empty, add water to the steam mop by following the instructions above. Shark® Steam Mop leaves water on the floor or is hard to push. Be sure that the cleaning pad is soaked through and properly affixed to the entire mop head. If the pad is over saturated, unplug the unit, wait 2 to 3 minutes for the pad to cool, and then replace with a clean dry mop pad. Shark® Steam Mop left white spot on the floor. Check to see if the cleaning pad is soaked through. We recommend that you unplug the unit and replace the cleaning pad. Make sure that the cleaning pad is attached correctly. Floors are cloudy, streaky or spotty after steaming. The initial use of the Steam Mop may cause clouding, streaking, or spotting of floors due to the residue from chemicals previously used to treat the floor.
