disconnected when the grills are unlocked or removed.

Guide the power cord between the
two pillar sections. Make sure the
smaller ends are facing the fan, then
snap the pillar sections together.
Align the pegs of one half of the base
with the holes in the other. Assemble
the base by sliding the halves together.
Guide the power cord through the
hole in the base.
Align the pegs on the base with the
hole at the bottom of the pillar and
attach the base to the pillar with the
large nut.
Attach the pillar and base assembly to
the fan and lock them in position by
sliding the four latching locks inward.
Run the cord through the groove at
the bottom of the base.
The Fan has five parts. Two tall pieces comprise the pillar and two
larger pieces are the base. The fan itself is the fifth part.

Operation
Note: If you change settings on the fan control panel, it does
not update or change your remote display.
For example, if you turn the fan off at the control panel, the
remote will still indicate that the fan is on. In this situation, you
would need to press POWER on the remote twice to turn the
fan back on.

Fresh Air and Negative Ions
One of the distinct differences between “fresh” outdoor air and
“stale” indoor air is the balance of negative ions vs. positive ions.
Outdoor air has high concentrations negative ions — specifically,
oxygen molecules with an extra electron attached — and relatively
few positive ions (oxygen with an electron stripped away).
High concentrations of negative ions are found in the most
invigorating outdoor placesevergreen forests, around waterfalls,
on beaches with crashing surf or anywhere after thunderstorms,
when the air seems almost crisp and spicy with freshness!
At the other extreme, positive ions are found in high concentrations
inside closed, air-conditioned and heated buildings, and outdoors
in cities during rush hours (pollution depletes negative ions).
Many believe that this balance of negative ions versus positive
ions may someday be controlled indoors — just as we currently
regulate indoor air’s humidity and temperature. In this way, we
would hope to restore our homes and work environments to
something more like those refreshing outdoor places.
Sharper Image Design’s Feel-Good Fan® — with its negative-ion
feature — is a step in that direction.

Temperature Control
Use the remote control to set a desirable temperature point for the
fan. Although there is a temperature readout on the remote itself,
the measurement that controls the fan is taken at the fan. This
way, if the remote is left in direct sunlight, next to a window and
getting a false reading, it will not affect the operation of the fan.
The fan stops and starts automatically according to the room
temperature as measured at the fan.
To activate the fan and display, press
POWER.
To activate automatic monitoring,
press AUTO.
To display the set temperature and
raise or lower it, press the TEMP +
or button.
Once the set temperature is reached,
the fan will switch off.
To cancel and resume full-time
operation, press AUTO.
TEMP Settings
Unplug the unit before cleaning and allow it to dry before
returning the plug to the power outlet.
The exterior of the unit and the remote control can be cleaned
using a soft cloth or sponge, and a mild solution of dishwashing
detergent.
The front and rear grills can be
taken off the main housing for
easy removal of any dust col-
lected on the grills or interior
of the fan.
Press the two release buttons
on the side of the rear grill to
unlock it from the housing.
A release latch for the front grill
is hidden at the bottom. Pull the
latch forward to unlock the grill.
Use a vacuum to remove visible
dust from the grills and interior.
