The Main Display

Power Button 1 ]
Pressing the Power button turns starmate a On or on.
Navigation Buttons (Q)
Pressing Leh, quhl. Up, arm Down navigates through various reatures
and functions of Starmate B.
- Left 1 or Right b button: isplays the channel categories such as Rock, Pop.
Sports, Talk/News. etct Repeated presses cycle through the categories one at
a time Also, decreases or increases the settings of various menu options such
as Brightness. Audio Level, etc.
- Up A or Down v button (press and release): Immediately tunes to the
next or previous channel in the channel lineup. Also, scrolls through lists and
highlights an item in the list.
- Up A or Down 7 button (press and hol ontinuously sl:ro|ls through any
list While on the main display screen. continuously scrolls through the
channel lineup and briefly displays the information at each channel, When
the button is released, Radio tunes to the last channel it had scrolled to in
the channel lineups

Pressing menu displays various options to make setup and leature Changes,
Pressing menu when in menu options returns to the previous menu ovllon screen
until menu options is exited. Pressinq and holding menu returns to the main display
screen in most instances.
FM Button HI
Pressing m provides easy tuning at FM presets tor optimized Powerconnec!
perlflrmances Repeatedly pressing FM displays and cycles through the list nl
preset FM channels one at a time. The Radlo automatically tunes to the displayed
FM channel. pressing and holding m accesses the m Settings menu, lt is not
available when Aux In Cable or Cassette Adapter is used for audlo connection.
Jump Button
Depending on how it is configured. pressing iurnp either tunes to the channel
broadcasting traffic and weather conditions ol 3 city of your choice, selected
from a list of the 22 most congested cities. or tunes to the previous channel that
was being played Pressing it again returns it to the original channel.

Pressing direct prompts for the entry ol a channel number using the number
buttons. Once the channel numher is entered, the Radio directly tunes to the new
channel

A channel can be tuned directly by entering the
channel number usmg the number buttons.

Return to Main Display Screen
Pressing and holding menu in most instances will return you to the main dlsplay
screen. In some Cases. you may need to follow the instructions on the display
screen.
Jump
Dependlnq upon how you configure the made, pressing jump will either go to the
traffic and weather channel for the city of your choice, which you select from a
llst of the 22 most congested cities, or go to the previous channel to which you
were listening.
If Jump is set to Traffic, when you press lump
am! the traffic/weather broadcast of your 28

Color Themes
You can Change the color of the display screen to one of 6 Color themes: Blue.
Red. Amber, Vellow, Sliver, or Teal. You can choose the display Color that matches
your dash lights. and personalile with the trim rings, The default Color theme is
blue.
To change the color theme:
1 Press menu.

Trlm Rinqs
Your starmare E has a Chanqtahle Trim Ring to Style the Radio in your liking. The
Trim Rinq surrounds the Select button on the Radio. A total of three trim rings
are included with your starmate B, includinq the on! that is already installed in
the Radial
Ta remove and replace the Trlm Hing:
The Trim Ring can be removed by using the Trim Ring Removal Toul. Placing this
tool against (he Trim Ring, and mildly applying pressure while turning it, will
loosen or tighten the Trim Rinq depending upon which direction you turn the (DBL

to align the tool so it's Centered on the Trim Ring.
2 Using mild pressure to keep the toe! against the Trim Ring, rotate the tool
counterclockwise until it will not rotate any further.
3 The Trim Ring Is now loose. Turn Starmate 8 over and the Tnm Rim;
should iall nut. II it does not, gentlv tap the bath of the Radio until it does.
Turn the Radio face up again and insert the new Trim Ring intD the Radio.
Align the Trim Ring Removal Tool on the Trim Ring on the Radio. Use care
to allgn the tool so it's centered on the Trim Rim].
Usinq mild pressure to keep the tool against the Trim Ring, rotate the tool
clockwise until it will not rotate any lurther. The new Trim Ring is now
installed.

Starmate B has a parental Contml feature whith allows you to lock access tD
Channels, or lock access to an entire category A 4-digit code controls access to
the locked Channel or locked category.

2 Press V to scroll to and highlight Parental Controls. Press the Select
