Sonic Radio Model - Quick Installation Guide Radio Model Name: CIC WL Fusion 2 Sonic Innovations, Inc. 2501 Cottontail Lane – Somerset, NJ 08873 – United States of America Page 1 Main +1 888 423 7834 www.sonici.com The CIC WL Fusion 2 radio model is a low power, short range, inductive radio transceiver working at 3.84 MHz. It can be seen below: CIC WL Fusion 2 - Typical Radio Model Assembly The most important parts of the module are an amplifier (containing a Digital-Signal-Processor (DSP), a radio Front-End (FE), memory and smaller components), a battery and a coil antenna, all mounted on a plastic faceplate. The microphone is also mounted on the faceplate and externally to it there is normally also an audio receiver/speaker and some optional push buttons, but they are not part of the radio model. The radio model is intended to be installed in Sonic and affiliated wireless hearing aid devices of CIC WL (Completely-In-the Canal, with Wireless option) and IIC WL (Invisible-In-the Canal, with Wireless option) wearing styles.

The DSP is the main processor controlling the amplifiers functionality and the FE is a complete radio transceiver, including both transmitter, receiver and local oscillators. The module also includes all voltage regulators inside the DSP and FE and buffered data programming inputs (PC_DATA and PC_CLOCK) on board. CIC WL Fusion 2 – Amplifier Assembly in 2D The module only requires a battery, an external microphone and speaker to be attached in order to run. All components are kept in place by the face plate as mechanical carrier for the radio model.

End product labelling requirements For an end product using the module “CIC WL Fusion 2”, there MUST be a label containing, at least, the following information: This device contains FCC ID: ZTOF2CIC01 IC: 9799A-F2CIC01 The label must be affixed on an exterior surface of the end product such that it will be visible upon inspection in compliance with the modular approval guidelines developed by the FCC. OEM Integrator must ensure that the end user manual may not contain any information about the way to install or remove the module from the final product. Any notification to the end user of installation or removal instructions about the integrated radio module is NOT allowed. Depending on the final host device additional authorization requirements for the non-transmitter functions of the transmitter module may be required (i.e., Verification, or Declaration of Conformity) The OEM integrator is responsible for ensuring that after the module is installed and operational the host continues to be compliant with the Part 15B unintentional radiator requirements. The module must be installed and used in strict accordance with instructions provided by Sonic Innovations, Inc. When the final host product operating with this transmitter deviate from instructions provided by Sonic Innovations, Inc, installation of this module into specific final hosts may require the submission of a Class II permissive change application containing data pertinent to RF Exposure, spurious emissions, RP/EIRP, and host/module authentication, or new application if appropriate. 1.1. FCC end product labelling In accordance with 47 CFR § 15.19 the end product shall bear the following statement in a conspicuous location on the device: "This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:  this device may not cause harmful interference, and  this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation."
