The mini RITE Fusion 2 radio model is a low
power, inductive radio transceiver working at 3.84
MHz consisting of:
a Digital-Signal-Processor (DSP)
a radio Front-End (FE)
memory (EEPROM)
antenna coil
and smaller components
All components are mounted on a flexible Printed-
Circuit-Board (PCB), which is intended to be
installed as a module into Sonic wireless hearing
aid devices.
The module also has all voltage regulators
included inside the DSP and FE and buffered data
programming inputs on the board.
The module requires a battery, one or two
microphones and an audio receiver to be attached
and must be mounted in an external plastic shell.
The module is depicted to the right with its main

1. End product labelling requirements
For an end product using the modulemini RITE Fusion 2”, there MUST be a label containing, at least, the following information:
This device contains
FCC ID: ZTOF2RITE3
IC: 9799A-F2RITE3
The label must be affixed on an exterior surface of the end product such that it will be visible upon inspection in compliance with the
modular approval guidelines developed by the FCC.
OEM Integrator must ensure that the end user manual may not contain any information about the way to install or remove the module
from the final product. Any notification to the end user of installation or removal instructions about the integrated radio module is NOT
allowed.
Depending on the final host device additional authorization requirements for the non-transmitter functions of the transmitter module may
be required (i.e., Verification, or Declaration of Conformity) The OEM integrator is responsible for ensuring that after the module is
installed and operational the host continues to be compliant with the Part 15B unintentional radiator requirements.
The module must be installed and used in strict accordance with instructions provided by Sonic Innovations, Inc.
When the final host product operating with this transmitter deviate from instructions provided by Sonic Innovations, Inc, installation of
this module into specific final hosts may require the submission of a Class II permissive change application containing data pertinent to RF
Exposure, spurious emissions, RP/EIRP, and host/module authentication, or new application if appropriate.
1.1. FCC end product labelling
In accordance with 47 CFR § 15.19 the end product shall bear the following statement in a conspicuous location on the device:
"This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
this device may not cause harmful interference, and
this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation."

When the device is so small or for such use that it is not practicable to place the statement above on it, the information shall be placed in a
prominent location in the instruction manual or pamphlet supplied to the user or, alternatively, shall be placed on the container in which
the device is marketed. However, the FCC ID label must be displayed on the device.
In case, where the final product will be installed in locations where the end-consumer is not able to see the FCC ID and/or this statement,
the FCC ID and the statement shall also be included in the end-product manual.
1.2. IC end product labelling
User manuals for licence-exempt LPDs shall contain the following or equivalent statements in a conspicuous position:

2. Antenna
Our module mini RITE Fusion 2 is for OEM integrations only.
The module must in the end-product be installed in such manner that only the authorized antennas can be used. The antennas may not be
modified. The antenna must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. No additional antenna
must be used.

3. Caution
Any changes or modifications NOT explicitly APPROVED by Sonic Innovations, inc. may void the FCC / IC authorization to operate this
equipment.
4. RF-exposure statement
This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed
and operated with minimum distance 20 cm between the radiator & your body.
