Getting starting
Charging DynaMic
DynaMic contains the same re-chargeable built-in state-of-the-art lithium polymer battery
with fast-charge capability as inspiro. The operating time of the battery is up to 10 hours
depending on how much you speak into the microphone.
A fully-discharged battery takes one hour for an 80% charge and two hours for a 100%
charge.
Use only the original Phonak charging unit for inspiro/DynaMic.
To simultaneously charge your inspiro and DynaMic we recommend the twin
charger.
Select an easily accessible socket outlet and plug the charging unit into the socket outlet.
Connect the Mini USB plug from the charging unit to the DynaMic.
During charging the LED flashes two short green pulses every 5 sec.
When the charging is completed the LED shows continuous green light.
8
We recommend you are fully charging the DynaMic. The battery cannot be over-
charged.
Battery status indication
DynaMic provides as inspiro an automatic vibra alarm if the battery is low.
Ca. 1 hour before the battery is empty: It needs to be charged within one hour.
The LED indicates 3 orange flashes repeated every 60 seconds and the vibra alarm starts
vibrating.
Ca. 15 min before battery is empty: It needs to charge DynaMic immediately.
The LED indicates 10 orange flashes and the vibra alarm starts vibrating.
If the battery is not being charged at that time, DynaMic switches off automatically after
flashing 10 flashes.
Vibration alarm indication
The transmitter provides a vibration alarm, if
• The battery is low,
• The device is out the range of the initiator of the MultiTalker Network,
• DynaMic is muted for more than 15 minutes,
• There is no FM transmission , DynaMic is not paired,
• The distance in the MultiTalker Network is higher than 8m,
• System problem, which are transformed in fast blinking orange LED signals and a
vibration alarm.
In case of system problem one need to press the Reset button
Switch on DynaMic
DynaMic is a pass- around microphone to transmit with inspire in the MultiTalker Network .
It is not a standalone FM transmitter.
To switch DynaMic follow the steps below.
• inspiro and DynaMic are both off
9
• Switch on inspiro: push the slider to the left until the green mark appears and the
LCD starts up.
• Set-up the MultiTalker Network. Initiate your Multitalker Network by pressing “OK”.
• Start your DynaMic by pushing the slider from Off to On.
10
• After the initiation was completed, the name of the DynaMic appears, press
OK.During the auto pairing time window of 8sec. DynaMic joins the MultiTalker
Network as secondary. If it is paired as secondary, it starts working as FM
transmitter,
After switching On the microphone the LED turns off to save power.
On the list of participants the microphone can be recognized.
As described earlier in the chapter “Switching on inspiro” pg 25, it is recommended to
activate the key pad lock whenever possible.
Mute: If the DynaMic is On, it is possible to mute the microphone. Switch the slider from
On to Mute.
If DynaMic is not paired in the MultiTalker Network it does not start to
emit FM.
11
Using DynaMic
User cases
• On a child’s desk using the supplied table stand
• Holding the DynaMic in the hand
• Wearing the remote mic with a lavalier* - not supplied by Phonak
• Using the floor stand*- not supplied by Phonak
Pass- around microphone
DynaMic can be passed from one child to the next.
Talking
Inspiro : Follow all the steps described in the chapter “Talking” under inspiro chapter pg.
28.
DynaMic
Make sure DynaMic:
• is recognized into the MultiTalker Network by the initiator inspiro. You can check
this on the inspiro’s LCD.
• is within the right distance in the MultiTalker Network
• is turned on
• is not in the muted mode
Speak into the microphone at relatively close range.
When speaking do not cover:
• the head of the microphone
• the antenna
Colored rings
12
With the rings you can personalize your DynaMic transmitters.
In case you are stepping out of your class the personalize rings will help you immediately
recognize your Dynamics.
You may put only 2 rings at the time. Do not place them on the opening of the
microphones head.
DynaMic Data Logging
DynaMic logs automatically the usage time. It is stored every 15 minutes. The first log
entry is stored after the transmitter has worked for 15 minutes.
A usage data log contains e.g. name, timestamp, MTN mode, average noise level.
Dynamic can store up to 800 data log, which covers approx. 20 days of usage.
Programming
Programming is optional – the frequency is automatically selected by the initiating inspiro
in the MultiTalker Network.
The following parameters could be programmed with FM SuccessWare 4.3 or higher
• Name, school, date (for DataLogging FM purposes)
• Updating the firmware
• Reading and erasing logged data
13
The MultiTalker Network
One or more inspiro and one or more DynaMic transmitters can participate in a MultiTalker
Network.
A maximum of nine DynaMic microphones can take part into a MultiTalker Network.
• The MultiTalker Network is available in the inspiro’s Extended operating mode.
• The Network operating range, i.e. the distance between the initiating inspiro and each
inspiro/DynaMic joining the network is 8 m / 25 feet.
If a user should unintentionally leave the network, an alarm signal of the inspiro/
DynaMic alerts the user.

Initiating a MultiTalker Network
Initiating or setting up a MultiTalker Network should be performed before the lesson begins
in the classroom. The procedure to follow is straightforward and the inspiro menu guides
you through the necessary steps. See the chapter “Switch on DynaMic”.
• Make sure that you have on the desk all the inspiro and DynaMic transmitters you plan
to include in the network. Ensure that all inspiro/ DynaMic transmitters are switched off.
• Take the main teacher’s or main speaker’s inspiro and switch it on. In this inspiro,
select MultiTalker Network and then Set up network. This inspiro is known as the
initiator.
• Read the information on the LCD display and then press the Start soft key.
• Then switch on all of the other inspiro and DynaMic transmitters.
• A list of the inspiro and DynaMic transmitters that have joined the network should now
be displayed on the initiating inspiro. If all of the transmitters are listed, press the
Continue soft key.
You have successfully created the network!
All inspiro and DynaMic transmitters are synchronized by the initiator inspiro.
Begin talking as usual.
How to use a MultiTalker Network
• The inspiro that has set-up (initiated) the network has first priority; all other
transmitters inspiro/DynaMic that joined the network have second priority. The
teacher with first priority can interrupt any teacher or student that has second
priority; a second priority teacher or student can only take over during the speech
pauses of the first priority teacher.
• All devices transmit on the same FM channel, but they do not transmit at the same
time
• No user action is required; if the first priority inspiro does not detect speech, any
second priority teacher or student can ‘get the microphone’ just by starting to talk
• The listening FM receivers only receive one voice at a time
15
Leaving a MultiTalker Network
The MultiTalker Network cannot exist without the presence of your initiating inspiro in the
network. If you decide to end the MultiTalker Network, the entire network will cease and all
of the inspiro and DynaMic transmitters will activate an alarm.
If you are using an inspiro that just joined a network, you can always leave the network by
selecting Stop MultiTalker Network.
Your inspiro will then be set to single teaching mode, but all of the other inspiro
transmitters in the MultiTalker Network will remain in MultiTalker Network mode.
If you are switching off one of the DynaMic, it will be deleted from your participants list.
The MultiTalker Network could continue with all other DynaMic and inspiro transmitters.
Should you unintentionally be outside the distance range of the MultiTalker Network, you
will be alerted by an alarm. You can then choose to either return to the operating range of
a maximum 8m / 25 feet from the initiating inspiro, or to leave the network.
Practical tips
• The MultiTalker network setting is stored in the inspiro transmitters. If the inspiro and
DynaMic transmitters have been switched off in MultiTalker Network mode, e.g. before
lunch, when decided to then switched back on again after lunch, the MultiTalker
Network mode can be selected by simply pressing a key in the inspiro. In this case,
there is no need to re-initiate the network. However, start the inspiro first. All the
DynaMic transmitters will join the network in the pairing window of 8 sec after the
initiator inspiro was switched on.
• If you have set up a MultiTalker Network with for instance two inspiro transmitters and
then a third person needs to subsequently join the network with inspiro or DynaMic, it is
necessary to set up a new network (to initiate a new MultiTalker Network).
• inspiro and Dynamic transmitters joining a network automatically use the FM channel of
the initiating inspiro in the MultiTalker Network.
• If an inspiro reverts to single teaching mode, it automatically applies the FM channel
used previously.
• If the initiating inspiro alters the FM channel in MultiTalker Network mode for any
reason, the new channel will automatically be sent to the other inspiro and DynaMic
transmitters in the network and then activated.
