Wireless controller for Reference Tool
WARNING
Carefully read this instruction manual and the instruction manual
for the compatible hardware (Development/Verification Tool for
PLAYSTATION3) before using this product. The compatible
hardware’s instruction manual contains safety precautions for the
prevention of accidents, and instructions for the use and handling of
the hardware.
•If you come into contact with material from a damaged or leaking
battery, take the following actions:
–If the material gets into the eyes, do not rub. Immediately flush
the eyes with clean water and seek medical attention.
–If the material comes into contact with the skin or clothes,
immediately rinse the affected area with clean water. Consult
your physician if inflammation or soreness develops.
•Do not allow the battery to come into contact with fire or subject it
to extreme temperatures such as in direct sunlight, in a vehicle
exposed to the sun or near a heat source.

•Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party
responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to
operate the equipment.
• NOTICE
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits
for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules.
These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against
harmful interference in a residential installation.
This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency
energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the
instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio
communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference
will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does

and RSS-102 of the IC radio frequency (RF) Exposure rules. This
equipment has very low levels of RF energy that it is deemed to
comply without testing of specific absorption ratio (SAR).

Description
This product is designed only for use with the Development/
Verification Tool for PLAYSTATION3. For detailed instructions on
use, refer to the instruction manual of the compatible hardware or
visit your local technical support Web site.
Battery (supplied)
•Be sure to charge the battery before using it for the first time. The
battery can be charged by using the supplied USB cable to connect
the product to the Development/Verification Tool for
PLAYSTATION3.
•Charge the battery at a temperature between 10 °C to 30 °C/50 °F
to 86 °F. Charging may not be as effective under other
environments.

•Battery duration may vary depending on the usage condition and
environmental factors.
•The battery has a limited lifespan. Battery duration will gradually
decrease with repeated usage and age. The lifespan of the battery
varies depending on how it is stored, the conditions of use, and
environmental factors.
Disposal of the battery
The lithium-ion battery within the controller is recyclable.
Upon disposal of the controller, remove the battery and dispose of
it by following your local rules and regulations.
•Do not disassemble the battery, except upon the time of disposal.
•Please use up as much of the battery charge as possible before
disposing.
•For safety purposes, please cover the metal parts of the battery
with tape before disposing.
Removing the battery
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the controller.
2. Remove the 5 screws on the back of the controller using a
screwdriver.
3. Take off the outer cover, and remove the battery.
For customers in the U.S.A. and Canada
Recycling Lithium-Ion Batteries
Lithium-Ion batteries are recyclable. You can help preserve our
environment by returning your used rechargeable batteries to the
collection and recycling location nearest you.

Caution: Do not handle damaged or leaking Lithium-
Ion batteries.
