It is thereforerecommended that only Ericsson and Sony Ericsson originalaccessories be used in conjunction with Sony Ericsson phones.**Before a phone model is available for sale to the public in theUS, it must be tested and certified by the Federal CommunicationsCommission (FCC) that it does not exceed the limit established by2
the government-adopted requirement for safe exposure*. Thetests are performed in positions and locations (i.e., by the ear andworn on the body) as required by the FCC for each model. The FCChas granted an Equipment Authorization for this phone model withall reported SAR levels evaluated as in compliance with the FCC RFexposure guidelines. While there may be differences between theSAR levels of various phones, all mobile phones granted an FCCequipment authorization meet the government requirement forsafe exposure. SAR information on this phone model is on file atthe FCC and can be found under the Display Grant section ofhttp://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid after searching on FCCID PY7A3880071. International safetyguidelines have been developed through periodic and thoroughevaluation of scientific studies. These guidelines establish5
permitted levels of radio wave exposure. The guidelines include asafety margin designed to assure the safety of all persons and toaccount for any variations in measurements.Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is used to measure radiofrequency energy absorbed by the body when using a mobilephone. The SAR value is determined at the highest certifiedpower level in laboratory conditions, but because the phone isdesigned to use the minimum power necessary to access thechosen network, the actual SAR level can be well below thisvalue. There is no proof of difference in safety based ondifference in SAR value.Products with radio transmitters sold in the US must becertified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).When required, tests are performed when the phone is placed atthe ear and when worn on the body.
