Importing Initial Configuration
The initial configuration is imported on the appliance through the FW-
100 web interface.
V To import initial configuration
1. In the web interface. expand Maintenance in the menu on the left
and select Software & Configuration (Illustration 5).

2. Select Import Configuration in the Action field. If the initial
configuration has been encrypted, the Encryption for Configuration
options are enabled.
3. (To import an encrypted configuration) Enter the password for the
encrypted configuration in the Passphrase field.
4. Enter the path and name of the initial configuration file in the
Filename field or click Browse and select the file in the dialog that
opens.
5. Click Go.
6. Select Yes and click OK in the confirmation message to start the
configuration import.
7. When the configuration has been imported, click Reboot in the
message box to reboot the appliance.
The initial configuration of the appliance is now finished, unless the
administrator has informed you that you must add information for ADSL
use through the FW-100 web interface.
16 Initial Configuration
To be able to connect to the web interface, the IP address configuration
of your computer must match the IP address configuration of the
appliance's corporate interface (see Configuring the Computer, on
page 13). As the initial configuration also includes the interface
definitions created in the Management Client. you must also check that
you have connected the cables to the correct ports (see Back Panel, on
page 11). Once you have checked the computer's lP configuration and
the cabling. proceed to Entering Information for ADSL Usage, on
page 18.

Entering Information for ADSL Usage
If your Internet Service Provider requires a user name and/or password
for ADSL usage and the information was not included in the initial
configuration, you must enter the user name and password through the
FW-100 web interface after the initial configuration of the appliance. You
will only need to enter the ADSL information if your administrator
instructs you to do so.
Note — You can access the web interface only if your computer has
been configured correctly as described in Configuring the Computer,
on page 13. The computer must also be connected to a port that
corresponds to a corporate interface defined in the Management
Client (see Back Panel, on page 11).
7 To enter ADSL information
1. In the web interface, expand the WAN menu on the left and select
Internet + Dlalup (Illustration 6).

2. Select either PPPoE or PPPoA according to the administrator's
instructions.
3. Enter the required user information in the User Name and/or
Password fields.
4. Click Save Configuration to save the changes.
The ADSL information has now been added to the appliance's
configuration.
15 Initial Configuration
Resetting the Configuration
You can reset the configuration on the appliance, if there are problems
in configuring it or connecting to the Management Server.
V To reset the configuration
1. Turn the power off on the appliance by unplugging the power cord.
2. Press down the Reset button. While pressing the button,
reconnect the power cord to the appliance.
3. Watch the LEDs on the front panel.
- First the Power and Status LEDs will light up.
- The Ethernet LEDs (1—4) for ports connected to the Ethernet will
flash.
- The boot sequence begins.
4. When the Status LED has lit up five times, release the Reset
button.
The appliance now boots up. You can now reconfigure it by importing a
configuration as described in Initial Configuration, on page 14.

The 5—GHz equipment meets the Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS)
requirements applicable to client cards (slaves) as defined in ETSI EN
301 893.
In order to meet the Transmit Power Control (TPC) requirement, the
equipment has different user-selectable power levels from which the
maximum power level is 3 dB below the applicable limit.

Operating Frequency
The operating frequency is determined by the access point to which the
client is associated. The operating frequency of the client cannot be set
manually. It is important that the Access Point is correctly configured to
meet the local regulations.
