Class B digital devices
“This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device
must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.”
Changes or alterations to the Altierre ESL System not expressly approved by Altierre could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
Note:
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide
reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency
energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Operation of this equipment in a
residential area is likely to cause harmful interference in which case the user will be required to correct the interference at his own expense.
“To satisfy RF exposure requirements, this device and its antenna must operate with a separation distance of at least 20 centimeters from all persons and must not be co-located or
operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.”

AAP User Manual
The Altierre Access Points or AAPs are the Altierre radios that talk to the Altierre Electronic Store Signs (E-Signs) or Electronic Shelf Labels
(ESLs). These AAPs use a proprietary RF signal to update the content on the Altierre E-Signs or ESLs. The Altierre Access Point RF uses the
2.4GHz ISM band with a frequency hopping proprietary protocol.
This device has been designed to operate with the antennas listed below, and having a maximum gain of 7 dBi. Antennas not included in this list or
having a gain greater than 7 dBi are strictly prohibited for use with this device. The required antenna impedance is 50 ohms.
To reduce potential radio interference to other users, the antenna type and its gain should be so chosen that the equivalent isotropically radiated
power (e.i.r.p.) is not more than that permitted for successful communication.
The AAP radio antenna must be installed by a trained professional.
Installation
Step 1
Attach the AAP rail to the T-Bar ceiling using T-Bar ceiling clips.
Step 2
Mount the AAP to the AAP rail.
Step 3
Once the bracket is mounted to the ceiling plug the Sync wire and the POE wire into the AAP and then slide it into place on the bracket
Configuration
Step 1
The DHCP server must be programmed in order to return the ASG Server IP address or domain name based on the VCI (Vender Class
Identifier) of the AP.
Step 2
Create a new vendor class in order to program the DHCP server to recognize the VCI altierre-aap-002. In the MMC, right-click the
DHCP server icon, and choose Define Vendor Classes.
