Thank you for buying the 900 MHz Day and Night Video Monitor
from Summer Infant. Now you can hear and see your baby!
Ideal for older children too — monitor playroom activities!

QUICK SET UP:
Read the instruction manual lor more detailed instructions and explanations.
~ Place Camera in nursery lacing crib (do not
place in crib or within child’s reach). Tilt the
Camera/Microphone so it is lacing baby
(Figure A). Use Security Clips included to secure
Camero's cord away from baby's reach (Figure B).
Camera may be attached to a wall using
wall anchor and screw (included) (Figure C).
- Plug small AC Adapter into Camera's AC Adapter
Jack and other end of cord into a standard
electrical outlet.
- Turn Camera on and set Channel Selector
(Aloft/B) to channel A.
- Position TV in the room away lrom nursery. Plug
large AC Adapter into TV's AC Adapter Jack and
plug the other end into a standard electrical outlet.
- Turn TV on using Power OnNolume Dial. Set Channel
Selector to channel A. You should now see a view oi
and hear sounds lrorrt the nursery. It you don't get a
picture, press the Quick ViewNideo On/Otl Button.
~ It the picture is not clear, lry switching both the
Camera and the TV to channel 8. Sometimes a
slight adiustment to the Camera or TV can make
a significant dillerence in reception.
- Adiust the volume on the TV as needed.
AWARNING:
THIS PRODUCT CANNOT REPLACE RESPONSIBLE
ADULT SUPERVISION.
- Prevent cord entanglement— do not place Camera in crib or within
arm's reach of the baby. Use enclosed Security Clips to help secure
cords away from baby’s reach. Never use extension cords with AC
adapters. Only use the AC Adapters provided.
- When anAC Adapter is plugged into an electrical outlet, do not touch
the exposed end.
0 Test monitor before first use, periodically, and when changing location
of the Camera.
. Do not use monitor near water (such as bathtub, sink, etc.).
0 Keep monitor away from heat sources (such as stoves, radiators, etc).

SET UP & USE:
CAM E RA
Step 1:
Table Top or Wall Mountlng:
Tilt Camera/Microphone up, and pull up (Figure A). Place Camera in nursery
lor best view ol baby and crib. Place the Camera on a flat surlace, such as a
dresser. bureau, or shell. Or mount the Camera on a wall. Be sure not to
place camera in crib or within arm’s reach of baby. Be sure to lost
reception and Camera pasltlaning belore mountlng
to a wall (see Westlng Your Inlllal Set Up' sectlon).
To Wall Mount:
(1) Pre-drill a hole in the wall (3/16‘, 4.8mm, drill bit)
(Figure B).
b) Insert wall anchor (included) into hole and gently tap
with a hammer until flush with the wall.
c) Insert screw (included) into wall anchor. Tighten screw
until 1/4" (6,2mm) ol screw is exposed.
d) Insert smaller AC Adapter into Camera’s AC Adapter Jack.
e) Slide Camera down onto screw until Camera is secure
to wall.
1) Plug AC Adapter into a standard electrical outlet,

To Adlust Camera:
Place Camera on a hard, well ventilated surface approximately 4 — 6 leet
from child. Pivot Camera Lens upward until it is upright in base. For
additional height gently raise Camera a maximum 012 "clicks”, Camera may
be turned Ieit or right and tilted backward and lorward lor best viewing.
Step 2: Set Channel Selector to channel A. The Power On LED will
illuminate solid green.
TV
Step 1: Position TV away lrom nursery.
Step 2: Plug the larger AC Adapter into the TVs AC Adapter Jack. Plug the
other end into a standard electrical outlet.
Stop 3: Turn the TV on using the OnNqume Dial. The Power On LED will
illuminate green. Set the Channel Selector to channel A. Press the Quick
ViewNideo On/Oll Button (labeled "Video OnlOfl") once tor a view of the
nursery. When video mode is on, the Video On Light will illuminate green.
Step 4: Adiust the volume as needed using the Volume Dial. Adjust picture
using the Contrast, Brightness, and Venicol Hold Dials on the back of the N

again to shut all the video mode.

SET UP & USE (continued):
Testing Your lnltlal Setup:
Be sure to test your monitor's reception before initial use. We also
recommend testing your monitor’s reception periodically. Please keep in
mind that the Day and Night Video Monitor will not provide the some level
ol picture quality as your television with cable, satellite dish, or digital
service.
To test reception you will need two adults. One adult should view the
picture on the TV while the other is in the nursery to adjust the Camera.
Olten the quality ol the reception can be improved by slightly
repositioning the Camera, TV, or both. Adjust the picture quality on the TV
as needed by using the Contrast, Brightness and Vertical Hold Dials,
To test sound quality, have one adult speak in both a normal tone and a
whisper near the crib. Adiust volume on the TV's Volume Diol as needed.
TIPS FOR
IMPROVING RECEPTION:
- Change the channel on both the TV and the Camera. Always make sure they
are set to the same channel (both on A or both on B)
- Position the TV closer to the camera if necessary.
- Move TV away lrom other monitors, cordless phones. walkie-talkies, etc; even
slightly could greatly improve reception.
- ll you hear a leedback or squealing noise, move the Camera and the TV further
away lrom each other
SPECIAL FEATURES:
‘ Sound lights: The 5 Sound Lights will illuminate on the TV depending on the
level at your baby's sounds. For example, it your child is just coorng, only one or
two lights will illuminate. ll your baby is crying, several will illuminate, depending
on how loud she is crying. This leature is particularly helplul it you are in a
noisy room.
~ Dulclt VIewNIdoo Onion Button: This button turns the video mode on. it you
only want to hear your baby, press the Quick VlewNideo Orr/Off Button again to
shut all the video. The Quick ViewNideo Om'Ofl Button is ideal lor easily turning
on the video option in the middle ol the night.
- nght Vision: In a darkened room the monitor will automatically use its inlrared
LED‘s to transmit a clear image 0! baby, so you can see your child at nightl
- Multi-Posltlon Camera/Mlcrophono: The Camera! Microphone should be
adjusted so it is lacing baby as directly as possible This multi-position lecture is
unique to Summer Inlant nursery monitors. It allows the microphone to locus on
baby’s voice while lilterlna out other household noises
PROBLEM SOLVING:
No picture or sound on TV
- Make sure the TV is turned on
- Make sure the AC Adapters are plugged in
~ Make sure the outlets are working
' Make sure the Camera and TV are set to the same channel
(try using the other channel it necessary)
Sound but no picture on TV
' Press the Quick ViewNideo Orr/Off Button once to turn on video made
- Try adjusting the Brightness, Contrast and Vertical Hold Dials on the TV
- Test reception by moving the TV andior Camera to dillerent locations
- Make sure the Camera and TV are set to the same channel
(try setting both to the alternate channel it necessary)
Picture but no sound
- Turn up the volume on the TV using the Volume Dial

Monitor. The additional video monitor gives you the conve ience at seeing your
child from another location without having to move the ori ‘nal video monitor
between rooms, The additional camera allows you to monitor a second room with
another child or a playroom lor day use.
Please note: lhe Video Monitor is a wireless product and subject to environmental
conditions. It was designed with two (2) channels so you can select the one with the
best reception. When you add an additional camera, you are using both channel
A and B and may experience some interference on one at the channels. This can

HELPFUL HINTS
“WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR
DAY AND NIGHT VIDEO MONITOR'M”
Please read this helpful hint guide in addition to reading your
instruction manual carefully.
- During use at night, the closer the Parent unit is to the Baby‘s unit. the better the picture quality. The farther
the distance away. the picture may get grainy. Optimal distance for normal in home use is 15-60 feet. Also,
too close (about 15 feet or less), audio feedback could result.
0 Optimal distance of the camera from the child for night vision is 4 to 6 feet; over 6 feet, and the picture may
get grainy due to the lack of light. Any additional light source in the room such as a night-light, may improve
night vision.
- Use of other 900 MHz products (such as a cordless phone) may cause interlerence with the picture quality.
Try to change channels on both monitor and camera from A to B or B to A. Also discontinuing use of other
900 MHz cordless products will help.
0 The Wdeo Monitor is a wireless product and is subject to a number of environmental conditions. Walking
between and near the parent’s unit may cause temporary interference,
