Secure Sounds“ Digital Handheld Color Video
Monitor With Remote Controlled Crib Soother
Thank you ior buying the Secure Sounds" Digital Handheld Color Video
Monitor with Remote Controlled Crib Soother from Summer Infant. Now
you can soothe your baby back to sleep without disturbing them. Parents
can choose irom Z-speed vibration, night light, lullabies or nature sounds
and have control from their location without having to disturb baby. The
Crib Unit attaches securely to baby’s crib and shuts off automatically alter
20 minutes. The Handheld Parent’s Unit with color video screen gives
visual reassurance and peace of mind, keeping you and your baby in
touch at all times.

QUICK SET UP:
Read the instruction manual lor more detailed instructions and explanations,
- Parent’s Unit should be charged lor 12-16 hours before
lirst use.
- Place Camera in nursery and position lacing crib (do not
place in crib or within child’s reach). Tilt the Multi-Position
Camera/Microphone so it is lacing baby as much as
possible (Figure A).
- Plug Camera AC Adapter (with small Connector Jack)
into Camero’s AC Adapter Receptacle and other end 01
cord into a standard electrical outlet.
- Use Security Clips included to secure Camera's cord
away lrorn baby's reach (Figure B), Alternately, Camera
may also be attached to a wall using wall anchor and ,,
screw (included) (Figure C). "‘
- Turn Camera on by sliding Power Switch to ON on side
ol Camera.
- Position Handheld Monitor in the room from which you
will monitor baby. Use 4.8V rechargeable battery
(included) or plug AC Adapter into Handheld Monitor‘s
AC Adapter-Jack and plug the other end into a
standard electrical outlet.
- Turn Handheld Monitor on using by sliding Camera
Switch on side at unit to Camera 1. Press the Quick View!
Video Orr/Oil Button on top of unit. You should now be
able to see a view of the nursery and hear any sounds
in the nursery.
- Adjust the volume on the Handheld Monitor as needed.
Crib Soother Unit:
- Remove the Mounting Bolt Cap.
' Insert 4 C batteries (not included) in back at Crib Unit,
- Position the Crib Soother so that the back post passes
between two vertical crib rails, with the top piece of the
Crib Soother resting on the horizontal crib rail. Screw the
Mounting Bolt Cop back onto the back post to secure
in place (Figure D). IMPORTANT: Please be sure that
Mounting Bolt Cap is screwed on tightly to ensure that
Crib Soother is mounted securely in place.
Nate: Camera should lace Crib Soother to operate
Parent Unit remote control functions.
' The Crib Unit operates independently as well lrom the Handheld Monitor.
Turn the Crib Soother on by sliding the switch on the right side of unit to ON.
AWARNING:
THIS PRODUCT CANNOT REPLACE RESPONSIBLE ADULT SUPERVISION.
- Prevent cord entanglement — do not place Camera in crib or
within arm’s reach of baby. Use enclosed Security Clips to help
secure cords away from baby’s reach. Never use extension cords
with AC Adapters. Only use the AC Adapters provided.
- When an AC Adapter is plugged into an electrical outlet, do not
touch the exposed end.
0 Test Monitor before first use, periodically, and when changing
location of the Camera.
- Do not use Monitor near water (such as bathtub, sink, etc).
- Keep Monitor away from heat sources (such as stoves, radiators,
etc) and make sure there is proper ventilation (not on sofas,
cushions, beds, etc which may block ventilation).
~ Nursery monitors use public ainivaves to transmit signals. This
Monitor may pick up signals from other monitors or similar
devices and signals broadcast by this Monitor may be picked up
by other receivers.

SET UP 8: USE:
CAME RA
Step 1: Table Top or Wall Mounting:
Tilt Camera/Microphone up, and pull up (Figure A). Determine
a location tor the Camera that will provide the best view ol
your baby in their crib. Place the Camera on a ilat surface,
such as a dresser, bureau, shell, or mount the Camera on a
wall, Be sure not to place Camera in crib or within arm’s reach
of baby. Place Camera on a hard, well ventilated surface
approximately 4 — 6 Ieet from the child or viewing object.

To Wall Mount:
a) Pre-drill a hole in the wall (3/16', 4.8mm, drill bit)
(Figure B).
b) Insert the wall anchor (included) into the hole and with a
hammer, tap gently on the end until the wall anchor is
ilush with the wall.
c) Insert Ihe screw (included) into the wall anchor
and tighten screw until only 1/4“ (6.2mm) oi the screw
is exposed.
d) Plug Camera AC Adapter (with small Connector Jack)
into Camera's AC Adapter Receptacle and other end ol
cord into a standard electrical outlet.
9) Slide the back oi the Camera down onto the screw until
the Camera is secure to the wall.
i) Plug the AC Adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
9) Secure the cord to the wall using the 6 Security Clips included to keep cord
away irom baby‘s reach (Figure C).
To Adlust Camera:
Pivot camera lens upward until it is standing upright in the base. Adjust Camera
by tuming Ieit to right 180 degrees and tilting lorword or backward lor optimal
viewing positions.
Stop 2: Set Power Slide Switch to ON. The Power On LED will illuminate
solid green.
CRIB SOOTHER
Step 1: Remove the Mounting Bolt Cap.
Step 2: Open Battery Compartment Door on the back oi the Crib Soother.
Insert 4 C batteries (not included) in back oi Crib Unit. Insert batteries + and -
orientation as marked in the Battery Compartment.
Tips:
- Make sure Camera is on and pointed at the Crib.
- Ii batteries are exhausted, remove them immediately irom the Crib Soother.
- Properly dispose oi exhausted batteries. 5

Step 5: Position the Crib Soother so that the back post
passes between two vertical crib rails, with the top piece
oi the Crib Soother resting on the horizontal crib rail. Screw
the Mounting Bolt Cap back onto the back post to secure
in place (Flgure D). IMPORTANT: Please be sure that
Mounting Bolt Cap is screwed on tightly to ensure that
Crib Soother is mounted securely in place.
Step 4: Turn the Crib Soother on using the Slide Switch on the
right side at unit. The soother has 3 modes. LOCKOUT (lock
icon on unit) allows parent to control Crib Soother only with
Parent Unit. OFF turns unit oil and it cannot be controlled by
Parent Unit or by buttons on lront of unit. ON allows unit to
lunction by pressing buttons on tront ot unit and by Parent Unit.
Step 5: There are tour buttons on tront ot the Crib Soother
(Figure F). The first button activates a LOW vibration of
Crib Unit. The second button activates a
HIGH vibration oi Crib Unit. The third
button activates the Night Light. The first
three buttons can be turned oil by Vlhlmlan - E
pressing again. The tourth button POND") __‘~ _:Lfl:fl'§L_fi
activates the Lullabies and Nature Sounds I
selection. Press the button twice to switch turn
to the next sound. To turn oil music, press 3?)

Stop 6: Alter selecting the desired
vibration, light or sound option, slide switch to LOCKOUT
position to ensure baby does not reset buttons (Figure G),
MONITOR
To Use the Vldoo Monltor wlth the Camera:
Step 1: Position Handheld Monitor in the room from which
you will monitor your baby.
Stop 2: Plug the Monitor AC Adapter (with large Connector Jack) into the Monitor's
AC Adapter Receptacle. Plug the other end into a standard electrical outlet.
Stop 5: Turn Handheld Monitor on by slidlng Camera Switch on side at unit to
Camera 1. The Power On LED will illuminate green. Press the Quick ViewNideo
OnlOtt Button on top 01 unit tor a view at the nursery There will be a 4 second
delay once Parent Unit is turned on to see picture.
Stop 4: Adjust the volume as needed using the Volume Up Button and Volume
Down Button on lront ot the unit.
Stop 5: For audio and no video. press the Quick ViewNideo Orr/Oil Button again to
shut off the video mode.
Step 6: To turn Monitor oil, slide the Camera Switch on side at unit to OFF

To Use the Video Monltor In Portable Mode:
Installlng the battery: For use in portable mode, the Monitor
requires one 4.3V rechargeable battery (included). Open
Battery Compartment Door and make sure battery is
connected (Figure H). When the Power On LED is illuminated
amber, the battery needs to be recharged.
Tip]:
- When battery is low, the Power On LED will illuminate amber.
~ To conserve battery power, use AC Adapter whenever possible Remove battery
during long periods at non-use.
t It a battery is exhausted, remove it immediately from the Monitor
- Properly dispose of exhausted batteries.
Belt Clip:
For convenience and portability, you can clip the Monitor
to your belt or waistband alter a ba|tery has been installed
(Figure I).
Footrest:
The Monitor has a built-in Footrest for tabletop convenience.
Simply lllp out Footrest and place the Monitor on a stable, level surloce.
To “I. the Video Monitor with the Crlb Soother:
Step 1: The Monitor can be used as a remotefontrol unit tor the Crib Soother.
Turn the Monitor on by sliding the switch on the side 01 the Monitor to Camera 1.
Note: Camera must be on and in the some room as the Crib Soother tor the
Video Monitor to be used as o remote-control unit.
Step 2: There are tour buttons to control the different vibrations, light and sound
options at the Crib Soothen
Note: Crib Soother cannot be controlled it it is switched to OFF position. The lirst
button activates a LOW vibration of crib unit. The second button activates a HIGH
vibration of crib unit, The third button activates the Night Light. The lourth button
activates the Lullabies and Nature Sounds selection. Press the button twice to
switch to the next sound. All lour buttons‘ lunctions can be turned off by
pressing again.
To turn oft music, press music buttons until music turns 0", All leotures have a 20
minute auto shutoff,
To adjust the volume at the music, hold the music button down and press the
Volume Up Button or Volume Down Button at the some time,
Step 3: Adiust the volume as needed using the Volume Up Button and Volume
Down Button on tront of unit,
Step 4: To turn Monitor off completely, slide the switch on the side at the Camera
to OFE
SET UP 8: USE (conl'd):
Testing Your Initial Setup:
Be sure to test your Monitor’s reception before initial use. We also recommend
testlng your Monitor’s reception periodically, Please keep in mind that the Secure
Sounds" Digital Handheld Color Video Monitor will not provide the some level of
picture quality as your television with cable, satellite dish, or digital service.
To test reception you will need two adults. One adult should view the picture on the
Monitor while the other is in the nursery to adjust the Camera. Often the quality of
the reception can be improved by slightly repositioning the Camera, Monitor, or
both. Adiust the picture brightness on the Monitor as needed by using the
Brightness Rocker Switch.
To test sound quality, have one adult speak in both a normal tone and a whisper
near the crib. Adjust volume on the Monitor’s Volume buttons as needed.
Tips for Improving Reception:
~ Position the Monitor closer to the camera if necessary.
- Move Monitor away from other monitors, cordless phones, walkie-talkies, etc.;
moving even slightly could greatly improve reception.
- If you hear a feedback or squealing noise, move the Camera and the Monitor
lunher away lrom each other.
Syncronlzlng Parent Unit and Child Unit:
The Parent Unit and Child Unit are synchronized at the factory. The Child Unit
should only work when the switch on the side of the Parent Unit is on Camera 1.
If the Parent Unit and Child Unit are not synchronized with each other, please
synchronize them as described below,
Turn on the Camera Unit, press 8. hold the button on bottom of Camera Unit.
Press and hold the Wdeo OnlOfl Button when turning on the Parent Unit lor 3-5
seconds, until you hear a beep out of the Parent Unit. Turn off both the
Camera Unit a. the Parent Unit, then turn back on both units and they should
be paired up and synchronized.
If you purchase an additional Camera lor this unit, you may repeat above
procedure with the Slide Switch on the Parent Unit switched to Camera 2.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
~ Video Sleep Mode: While operating on battery power, the video screen will go
to sleep after 3 minutes of use, to conserve battery power. Audio and sound
lights will function normally Press the Video OnIOil to resume viewing.
- Sound Lights: The 4 Sound Lights will illuminate on the Monitor depending on
the level of your baby‘s sounds, For example, it your child is just cooing, only one
or two lights will illuminate. If your baby is crying, several will illuminate,
depending on how loud she is crying. This feature is particularly helpful il you are
in a noisy room,
SPECIAL FEATURES (cont'd):
- Oulclt ViowNideo OnlOfl Hutton: This button turns the video mode on. ll you
only want to hear your baby, press the Quick Viedeeo Orr/Oil Button again to
shut oil the video. The Quick Wedeeo OnIOli Button is ideal for easily turning
on the video option in the middle ol the night
- Night Vision: In a darkened room, the Monitor will automatically use its
infrared LED's to transmit a clear image ol baby, so you can see your child
at night!
- MuItI-Posltlort Camera/Mlcrophone: The Camera/Microphone should be
positioned so it is lacing baby as much as possible. This multi»position feature is
unique to Summer Inlant nursery monitors. it allows the microphone to locus on
baby's voice while liltering out other household noises.
- lockout Feature on Crib Soother: Puts Crib Unit in lock mode so child cannot
activate buttons on unitt
PROBLEM SOLVING:
No picture or sound on Monitor
- Make sure the Monitor is turned on
- Make sure the AC Adapters are plugged in
- Make sure the outlets are working
~ Make sure the Camera and Monitor are set to the same channel
(try using the other channel ll necessary)
Sound but no picture on Monitor
- Press the Quick WewNideo Orr/0" Button once to turn on video mode
- Try adiusting the Brightness Rocker Switch on the Monitor
- Test reception by moving the Monitor and/or Camera to dilterent locations
- Make sure the Camera and Monitor are set to the same channel
(try using the otherchannel it necessary)
Picture but no sound
- Turn up the volume an the Monitor using the Volume Buttons
- Make sure the Parent‘s Unit is set to Camera 1
Nature not clear
- Position the Monitor closer to the Camera il necessary
- Move Monitoraway tram other monitors, cordless phones, wolkie-talkies, etc.
. Try adjusting the Brightness Rocker Switch on the Monitor

Summer Infant, Inc. will repair or replace (at our option) your unit free of charge for
12 months from the date of purchase if the unit is delective in work manship or
materials. To claim your repair/replacement, the product must be returned to
Summer Infant along with a copy of the original purchase receipt. In the absence of
the purchase receipt, the warranty will be 12 months tram the date of manufacture.
This warranty does not apply to normal wear or damage from misuse, abuse,
improper storage and handling, installation, accident, unauthorized repair or
