INSTRUCTION MANUAL SECURE SOUNDS 2.4 GHz DIGITAL MONITOR WITH 2 PARENT UNITS Thank you for buying the Secure Sounds“ 2.4 GHz Digital Monitor from Summer Infant. Two parent units are included for either multi-room monitoring or so that both parents can monitor their baby from anywhere in the home. The 2.4 GHz digital technology provides a secure and private transmission, minimizing interference Auto-channel scan selects a tree and secure channel for parents so the only sounds you hear are from you and your baby. Rechargeable batteries are included in both parent units as well as belt clips Ior maximum portability. AWARNING: THIS PRODUCT CANNOT REPLACE RESPONSIBLE ADULT SUPERVISION. - Prevent cord entanglement — do not place transmitter in crib or within arm’s reach of baby. Never use extension cords with AC adapters. Only use the AC Adapters provided. 0 When an AC Adapter is plugged into an electrical outlet, do not touch the exposed end. - Test monitor before first use, periodically, and when changing location of the components. - Do not use monitor near water (such as bathtub, sink, etc.). 0 Keep monitor away from heat sources (such as stoves, radiators, etc.) and make sure there is proper ventilation (not on sofas, cushions, beds, etc. which may block ventilation). - Nursery monitors use public airwaves to transmit and receive signals. This monitor may pick up signals from other monitors or similar devices, and signals broadcast by this monitor may be picked up by other receivers. - This product is not a toy. Do not allow children to play with it. éBATTERY WARNING: - Do not mix old and new batteries. - Do not mix alkaline, standard, or rechargeable batteries. 0 Remove batteries and unplug the rechargeable battery pack pigtail when product is stored for a long period of time or when batteries are exhausted. 0 Dispose of exhausted batteries properly. 0 Use only the original rechargeable battery pack. Insert AC Adapter into the AC Adapter Jack on the right side at the Baby’s Unit. Plug the AC Adapter into a standard electrical outlet. Note: Be sure to keep all cords out of baby’s reach. Step 2: Slide power switch to On position on top of Baby's Unit. Parent’s Unit Step 1: Place one or both Parent Units in the room from which you want to monitor your baby (ie, bedroom or living room). Step 2: Slide power switch to On position on top of Parent's Unit. Step 3: Set Volume to desired level using Volume Control on side at Parent's Unit. Rechargeable Base Step 1: Plug an AC Adapter into the AC Adapter Jack on the back of the recharger base and the other end into a standard electrical outlet. Note: Charge battery in Parent's Unit for 124 6 hours before first use. To use the Parent's Unit in Portable Mode For use in portable made, each of the Parent Units require one 4.8 V rechargeable battery (included), Open battery compartment door using a phillips screwdriver and make sure battery is connected. Replace battery compartment door. When the power LED is amber color, the battery needs to be recharged. SET UP & USE (continued): To use the Baby's Unlt in Portable Mode For use in portable mode, the Baby’s Unit requires 3 "AAA" batteries (not included), Open battery compartment door using a phillips head screwdriver and insert 3 "AAA” batteries. Replace battery compartment door. Power LED on Baby's Unit will blink if batteries need to be replaced. Caution: When using Baby’s Unit in portable mode, be sure to keep it out of the child's reach, Testing the Product You should be able to clearly hear all levels of sound coming from the Baby’s Unit through the Speaker on the Parent's Unit, Digital technology will automatically scan and select a free and secure channel so you only hear your baby. If no sound comes from the Speaker 01 the Parent’s Unit check to make sure all cords are fully plugged in and connected and batteries are fresh. Make sure both Units are turned on. Belt CIIp: For convenience and portability, you can clip the Parent’s Unit to your belt or waistband. PROBLEM SOLVING: No sound coming from speaker - Make sure all Units are "ON." - Set volume to a higher settingt Static - Reposition the Parent Units, or move the Parent Units closer to the Baby’s Unit, Squealing noise - Parent Units and Baby’s Unit too close togethern move further apart - Turn down the volume on Parent Units or both Units. Beeping noise - Beeping noise every 3 seconds coming from Parent’s Unit indicates that Child Unit is not turned on, Weak reception or no reception - Make sure both Units are turned on - Move Parent's Unit closer to the Baby’s Unit. - Make sure the battery is charged. NOTE: Digital technology will automatically scan multiple channel frequencies and select a free and secure channel. Monitor Warranty Policy Summer Inlont Inc. will repair or replace (at our option) your unit lree of charge lor 12 months lrom the date ol purchase if the unit is defective in workmanship or materials. To claim your repair/replacement, the product must be returned to Summer Infant along with a copy oi the original purchase receipt. In the absence of the purchase receipt, the warranty will be 12 months from the date of manufacture. This warranty does not apply to normal wear or damage lrom misuse, abuse, improper storage and handling, installation, accident, unauthorized repair or alteration.
