TIPS FOR IMPROVING RECEPTION: FEATURES & COMPONENTS: - Position the Parent's Unit closer to the Baby's Unit if necessary. - Move Parent's Unit away from other monitors, cordless phones, walkie—talkies, etc.; moving even slightly could greatly improve reception. - If you hear a leedback or squealing noise, move the Baby’s Unit and the Parent’s Unit lurther away lrom each other. PROBLEM SOLVING: No sound coming lrom speaker - Make sure both Units are 1‘ON." - Set volume to a higher setting. Plug the Adapter into a standard electrical outlet. Note: Be sure to keep all cords out of baby’s reach. Step 2: Slide power switch on back of unit to either 'F or 'C setting. You should see a temperature displayed on the screen on the front of the unit. Baby Unit's housing and screen will glow (most visibly in dimly lit rooms) based on temperature in the Baby's room as shown below: Note: Do not place the baby’s unit near open windows, direct sunlight or heat sources as temperature accuracy may be effected. Blue — Too Cool - Lower than 67'F Yellow — Recommended Temperature - 67'F - 73'F Red —Too Warm — Higher than 73'F Nate: Press the GLOW on/off button on the bottom of the Baby’s Unit to disable glow. Parent's Unit Note: Charge battery in Parent‘s Unit (in portable/battery mode) for 12—16 hours before first use. Step 1: Place the Parent's Unit in the room from which you want to monitor your baby (ie. bedroom or living room). Plug an AC Adapter into the AC Adapter Jack on the right side of the Parent’s Unit recharger base and the other end into a standard electrical outlet. Step 2: Turn unit on and adjust volume level by using PowerNolume Dial on left side of the Parent's Unit. You should see a temperature display on the screen on the front of the unit. Temperature display and screen color will correspond to the temperature in the child's room. To use the Parent's Unit in Portable Mode For use in portable mode, the Parent's Unit requires one 3.6 V rechargeable battery (included). Open battery compartment door using a phillips screwdriver and make sure battery is connected. Replace battery compartment door. When the power LED is amber color, the battery needs to be recharged. Tips: - Before using monitor in portable mode (battery), be sure to charge battery 12—16 hours. - To charge battery, plug the larger AC Adapter into the Monitor's AC Adapter Jack. Plug the other end into a standard electrical outlet. - After initial 12-16 hour charge, to achieve optimal battery life, charge battery overnight and unplug all day during use. Battery Installation: Note: This step is only needed if replacing battery. 1. Locate the battery compartment door on back of monitor. 2. Loosen screws, open battery compartment door and connect battery as shown (Figure A). Replace door and tighten screw. Testing the Product You should be able to clearly hear all levels at sound coming from the Baby's Unit through the Speaker on the Parent's Unit. Digital technology will automatically scan and select a free and secure channel so you only hear your baby. If no sound comes from the Speaker of the Parent’s Unit check to make sure all cards are fully plugged in and connected and batteries are tresh. Make sure both Units are turned on. Belt Clip: For convenience and portability, you can clip the Monitor to your belt or waistband after a battery has been installed.
