60-153 RC Jet Race Boat sailing your boat Antenna Tube Holder Insert your boat’s antenna tube here. Thank you for purchasing your RC Jet race Boat from RadioShack. Your boat comes in two frequencies (27MHz and 49MHz), so you and your friends can race together. The boat is equipped with a fan for cooling the motor. The automatic speed regulator enables smooth steering. Direct Alignment If you can not drive the boat forward in a straight line, you can adjust the switch to left or right to adjust the boat forward. ON/OFF Left Forward Release to go straight Release to stop Turn to open the battery compartment. The power switch is located in the battery compartment. NOTES Right Reverse Latches This vessel sails at high speeds. Avoid using it where people are swimming. Caution: Immediately after recharging, the boat runs at a higher speed than normal, which can cause your boat to capsize on choppy water. Maneuver your boat carefully immediately after replacing the battery. Attach the antenna to your transmitter. Thread the boat’s antenna wire through the supplied antenna tube. Then, insert the tube into the antenna tube holder. Turn the latches on the boat to open the battery compartment and turn on the boat. Place your boat in the water and use the transmitter’s controls to operate it. Your transmitter’s LED lights when in use. • Your transmitter does not have a power switch. It turns on when you move either lever. • Your transmitter is not waterproof. Do not submerge it in water. • The boat decreases its speed when turning to make sharper turns. • When you finish playing, remove your boat from the water and shake excess water from your boat through the two drain holes. LED safety information what’s included RC Boat Transmitter Battery Tray Boat Antenna Tube Transmitter Antenna User’s Guide Please read this user’s guide before installing, setting up and using your new product www.radioshack.com 60-153.indd 1 • Do not use your boat near devices with transmitters using the same frequency (27 or 49 MHz). • Running your boat continuously for long periods generates high heat levels, which cause wear and tear on the motor. To help keep heat levels down, let the boat cool at least 25 minutes before installing a fresh battery pack. • Keep your boat away from grass and debris that could cause propeller damage. • If your boat does not respond, drives slowly, or the range reduces, recharge your battery pack. • If your boat doesn’t respond after recharging, replace the transmitter battery and check for propeller debris. • If your boat slows down due to loss of battery power, guide it to shore immediately so it won’t drift away. • If your boat goes outside the transmitter’s range, it stops. Hold your transmitter high above your head to re-establish contact. If this doesn’t work, move closer and try again. Do not wade into deep water. • Never touch the propellers while they are spinning. • Children must be supervised by adults when playing with toys around water. • Do not operate the transmitter with the battery compartment open. The cooling fan in the boat starts when you operate the transmitter. 12/7/2006 11:15:15 AM installing your batteries in your transmitter • Dry your boat thoroughly after use. • Handle your boat and transmitter carefully. Do not drop them. • Wipe them with a damp cloth occasionally to keep them looking new. • Store your boat on the included stand when not in use, and leave the battery cover off while in storage to allow moisture to evaporate. Your transmitter requires one 9V alkaline battery (not supplied). When your transmitter’s control range decreases, replace the battery. Open the battery cover and insert the battery as marked (+ and -). battery cautions Replace the cover. in your boat Your boat requires one 7.2V rechargeable Ni-MH battery pack or 6 AA alkaline batteries(neither supplied supplied, NiMH only, not NiCD). Turn the latches to open the battery compartment. Turn off your boat. Attach the boat’s connector to the battery pack or the battery tray with six AA batteries. Do not force them; they fit only one way. Then, rotate the battery clip to hold the battery in place. Carefully insert the wires into the battery compartment, and close the battery compartment. Do not use NiCD batteries. • Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. Do not burn or bury batteries. • Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended type. • Do not leave a dead or weak battery in your transmitter. If you do not plan to use your RC boat for a few weeks, remove the battery from your transmitter. Batteries can leak chemicals that may damage electronic parts. • Do not charge or recharge your battery pack when it is in the boat. • Do not overcharge your battery pack. • Do not recharge your battery pack immediately after use. Allow it to cool first. • Make sure your battery pack is securely fastened to your boat before playing. • Batteries used in this toy may be hazardous to children.
