COMPUTER INTERFACE CONNECTION (OPTIONAL)

Minuteman Power Management suflware and lnteflace cables Kits can be used with the
MBK 520 & MEK 680 UnIIS. Use only Minuteman or Minuteman wproved intertace cables WIII’I
these UPS‘s. Connect the interface cable to the 9 pin computer interface port on the rear of
the UPS secure the connector to the UPS via the screws on the connector housing
Connect the other end at the cable to the deVlce that will be monitoring/controlling the UPS
NOTE; CONNECTING TO THE COMPUTER INTERFACE PORT IS OPTIONAL THE UPS
WORKS PROPERLY WITHOUTA CONNECTION.

CHARGING THE BATTERY
The MBK Series UPS‘s will charge the internal batteries whenever the unit is connected to
an AC source It ls recemmended Ihat the UPS batteries be charged for a minimum of 4 hours
belcre use. The UPS may be used immediately however the “an battery" run time may be
less than manually expected.
CONNECTING YOUR EQUIPMENT
Plug the equ'nmenl into the receptacles on the rear of the unit. Insure
that you do not exceed the maximum output rating of the UPS treIer to

CAUTION! DO NOT CONNECTA LASER PRINTER TO THE BATTERY BACKUP
RECEPTACLES ON THE UPS UNLESS THE UPS IS RATED MINA OR
A GREATERALASER PRINTER DRAWS SIGNIFICANTLY MORE POWER WHEN
PRINTING THAN AT IDLE, AND MAY OVERLOAD THE UPS.
