1. Before You Start

If any of the above contents are missing, please contact your reseller.
Minimum Requirements
- A computer with a wired or wireless network adapter properly installed
(Note: It is recommended that you configure the Wireless Router from a
wired computer)
- Web Browser: Internet Explorer (6.0 or higher), Firefox (2.0 or higher),
Opera, Chrome, Safari
- Broadband Internet
- Installed Cable or DSL Modem
2. How to Install
Note: Gather all information related to your Internet Connection before you
start. If necessary, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
1. Verify that you have an Internet connection when connecting your
computer directly to the Cable or DSL modem. Open your browser
(e.g. Internet Explorer) and type in a URL (e.g. http://www.trendnet.com)
in the address bar.

2. Power off your Cable or DSL
modem.
3. Disconnect the network cable
from your Cable or DSL modem
and your computer.
4. Connect one end of a network
cable to one of the TEW—6598RV's
network ports. Connect the other
end of the cable to the computer's
network port.

5. Connect one end of a network
cable to the TEW-6598RV's WAN
port. Connect the other end of the
cable to your modem's network
port.

6. Connect the PowerAdapter to
the TEW-GSQBRV and then to a
power outlet. Push the power
button to the “On” position.
7. Power on your cable or DSL
modem. Wait until the LEDs
indicate that thye modem is fully
booted up. Consult with the modem
user‘s guide for more information.
8. Verify that the following panel lights
are on: LAN (port (1, 2, 3, 4) your
computer is connected to)
(Green), WAN (Green) and
Wireless (Green). Please see
troubleshooting section for
additional information on LED
behaviors.

3. Configure the Wireless Router

1. It is recommended that you configure the Wireless Router from a wired
computer.
2. For VPN configuration instructions please refer to the User‘s Guide. The
User's Guide is located on the provided CD-ROM.

then click Login. By default:

5. Enter the Old password (By default,
the Password is admin), enter a
New Password, reconfirm the
New Password and then click

Note:
1. Setting a password prevents other
users from accessing the
TEW-GSQBRV configuration.
2. It is recommended that you enter a
new password. If you decide to
change this setting, please write
down the new password.
3. Password is limited to up to 9
characters.
6. Select your Time Zone and then
click Next.

7. Select Auto Detecting WAN Type
and then click Next.
8. Configure the settings based on
information provided by your ISP.
Follow the wizard instructions to
complete the configuration.
Note: Each Internet Connection
type may have different options.
9. You will need to configure the
following:
Wireless (Enable/ Disable): The
default setting (Enable) must be
selected. Select Disable if you do
not want any wireless computers or
devices to connect to this device.
Network ID (SSID): The SSID is
the wireless network name of your
wireless network (e.g. wireless
router or access point). Enter a
unique SSID. Choose something
that you would easily identify when
searching for available wireless
networks.
Channel: In most cases, the
default setting should be fine.

Note:
1. To protect your network from any unauthorized access it is recommended to
enable wireless encryption.
2. The example below is for WPA-PSK/WPAZ-PSK (AES) security. If you select
WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK, make sure your wireless adapters support WPA or
WPA2. If your wireless adapters do not support WPA or WPA2. then select
WEP.
3. WEP encryption only supports 802.11 b/g speed of up to 54Mbps.
4. Once encryption is enabled on the router, each wireless computer and device
must be configured with the same encryption key.

2. Installation du matériel
Remargue: Avant de débuter, réunissez toutes les informations concernant
votre connexion Internet. En cas de besoin, contactez votre fournisseur d'acces
Internet (FAI).
1. Vérifiez que vous avez une connexion Internet. Lorsque vous connectez
votre ordinateur directement au modem cable ou DSL ou Prise jack Ethernet

3. Configuration du routeur sans fil
Remarque:
1. II est recommandé de configurer |e routeur sans flI depuis un ordinateur céblé.

Guide de I'utilisateur. Le guide de I‘utilisateur se trouve sur Ie CD-ROM fourni.
1. Ouvrez votre navigateur Internet,

1. Mettre un mot de passe empéche
que les autres utilisateurs aient
accés a la configuration du
TEW-GSQBRV.
2. Nous conseillons de saisir un
nouveau mot de passe. Si vous
décidez de modifier ce paramétre,
veuiIIez inscrire Ie nouveau mot de
passe.
3. Le mot de passé est Iimité a 9
caracteres
6. Sélectionnez votre fuseau horaire
et cliquez sur Next (Suivant).

9. Vous devrez configurer Ies

Network ID (ID réseau) (SSID): Le
SSID est Ie nom de votre réseau

nom que vous reconnaitrez

des réseaux sans fil disponibles.
Channel (Canal): Dans Ia majorité
des cas, I‘indication par défaut
devrait étre correcte.

Pour protéger votre réseau de tout accés non autorisé, il est recommandé
d'activer Ie cryptage sans fil.
Les exemples ci-dessous concernent Ia sécurisation WPA2-PSK. Si vous
sélectionnez WPA2-PSK ou WPAZ-PSK, assurez-vous que vos adaptateurs
sans fil supportent Ie WPA ou Ie WPA2. Si vos adaptateurs sans fil ne
supportent pas Ie WPA ou Ie WPA2, sélectionnez Ie WEP.
. Le cryptage WEP prend uniquement en charge Ia vitesse 802.11b/g jusqu‘é
54Mbps.
. Lorsque Ie cryptage est active sur Ie routeur, chaque ordinateur et
périphérique sans fil doit étre configuré avec la méme clé de cryptage.

2. Installation der Hardware
Hinweis:
Notieren Sie sich zuerst aIIe erforderlichen Angaben [Iber Ihre
Internetverbindung. Wenden Sie sich bei Bedarf an Ihren Internet Service
Provider (ISP).
1. Priern Sie, dass eine Internetverbindung besteht, sobald Sie Ihren Computer
direkt mit dem Kabel- oder DSL-Modem-oder Ethernet-Stecker verbinden.
Offnen Sie Ihrweb browser (2. B. Internet Explorer) und tippen Sie ein URL

TEW-GSQBRV und stecken Sie es
in eine Steckdose. Stellen Sie den
Einschalter auf “Ein”.
7. Schalten Sie das Kabel- oder DSL-
Modem ein. Warten Sie, bis die
LEDs anzeigen, dass das Modem
vollsténdig hochgefahren wurde.

8. PrUfen Sie, dass die folgenden
Anzeigen Ieuchten: LAN (der Port
(1,2,3,4), an dem Ihr Computer
