1. Preliminary Work
… Creation of updating data CD
1] Have a blank CD-R or CD-RW medium available, as well as a system capable of
creating data CDs.
2] Download from the given location the required version of firmware to write it on CD.
(You should use the format of ISO9660 Level 1 (MS-DOS compliant).
… Updating of the firmware takes about 1 minute 30 seconds.
2. Precautions
… Updating of the firmware has no effects on the song data on the HDD.
… Check to make sure that the line voltage you are going to use matches the voltage
specified on the 2488neo targeted for firmware update.
… Pay particular attention not to accidentally interrupt the power in the process of
update.
* If the power is interrupted in the process of update, there are chances the 2488neo
cannot restart and you have to replace the FLASH ROM.
… Once the firmware has been updated, you cannot undo the updating.
3. Here is how to update the firmware.
1] Hold down both the MONITOR SOURCE and SHUT DOWN keys and switch on the
power.
2] In about 30 seconds the CD-RW drive tray automatically opens, then place an
updating CD on the tray and press the YES/ENTER key.
3] A confirmation message appears when the updating CD has been loaded, then press
the YES/ENTER key.
4] The process of the firmware update starts.
5] When updating is completed a message appears and the CD tray opens.
Remove the updating CD out of the tray, press the EJECT button on the CD-RW drive
to close the tray, and switch off the power.
6] Switch on the power again and look up the version information on the screen showing
at startup.
