Do not bend or scratch the SIM cards. Take care when handling, installing, or removing SIM cards, and avoid exposing the SIM cards to static electricity, water, or dirt. Keep SIM cards out of reach of small children. You can instaall up to 2 micro SIM cards in your Android deviice. You can checkk to see how manyy micro SIM cards aree installed and assign activities to eaach of them on yourr device. To install SIM M cards in your Anndroid device, folllow these steps • Installing SIM card or Mem mory card In your phonee there are two SIM M card slots; Sim 1 slot can only use SIM card, while siim 2 slot can use both SIM card or memory card. 1- Use thhe pin to open the card slot. 2- Insert the SIM card or memory card correcctly. t SIM card to thee correct position. 3- Push the Notice: Sim 2 card slot CAN NO OT insert SIM card d and memory card d at the same time e. After you install a SIM card, yoou'll be asked to asssign the activities you want to use thhe SIM card for, likke phone calls, text t messages, or using data. • Check whaat SIM cards are installed You can checck to see what SIM M cards are installeed in your Androidd device at any tim me by following theese steps: 123- Open your device’s Setttings menu Underr "SIM cards". The sccreen shows the caarrier data and phone numbeer for each SIM caard installed in the device. • Assign acttivities for a SIM card After you’ve installed SIM cardds in your Androidd device, you can c assign the activvities you want to use each SIM carrd for. These activiities include phonee calls, text messaginng, and using data.. To assign an activity to a SIM card, follow these steps: 123- Open your device’s Setttings menu Underr "SIM cards". You caan assign a SIM too an activity, such as SMS messaging. For some appps, you'll need to assign a SIM card to complete appp activities. Follow w the instructions inn the app to compleete the process. SD card • Install a micro A micro SD (Secure Digital) caard is a small devicce you can insert in your phone to exteend its storage capacity. For some appps or features on yoour phone, you'll need micro SD carrd. • Mount or unmount a microo SD card To start usingg your micro SD caard after you've innserted it, you need too make sure it's mounted. If you wannt to remove the SD card, you need to t unmount it firstt in order to remoove it safely. To mount or unmount a micro SD S card, follow thhese steps: 1- Open your device’s Setttings menu 23- Underr "Storage&USB," touch SD card. To moount a micro SD caard, touch Mount SD S card. To unmount a micro SD card, touch Unmount SD card and thenn touch OK. If youu unmount the SD card, some of yourr apps may not worrk properly until you remount the SD S card. • Erase a miicro SD card To erase a miicro SD card, folloow these steps: 12- device’s Setttings menu Open your Underr "Storage&USB," touch SD card. 3- To ejeected amicro SD caard, touch • Charge yoour Android devicce Your battery will not be fully charged when you first unpack your Android. It’s a goood idea to fully charge the battery ass soon as you get a chance. To charge your Android, follow w these steps: 1- 23- Using the adapter that coomes with the phoone, USB cable too the connecct one end of the micro chargeer port at the bottom m of the phone. Conneect the other end too the travel adapterr. Conneect the travel adaptter to a power outlet. and USB cable Important: Usse only the travel adapter that came witth your Android. Using a different trravel adapter or cabble may damage your phone. Charging your phone through a USB cable attached to another device, such as a laptop computer, takes longer than charging with a travel adapter. • Set up your O1 The first time you turn on your O1, it'll walk you through the steps to get it set up. You'll be prompted to do the following: 123- Choose the language you want your phone to use Connect to a Wi-Fi network or your cellular data network Sign in with your Google Account If you use G-mail, you have a Google Account. Just use the same email address and password to sign in here. By signing in, all of your email, contacts, calendar events, and other data associated with that account will be synced to your phone. If you don't have a Google Account, you can create one during the setup process. You can also skip this step and create one later. If you have more than one Google Account, you can add other ones later. To make sure your phone doesn't lose power during setup, it's recommended that you keep it plugged in until setup is complete. • O1 Basics me tips to get you faamiliar with your O1 Here are som device. Recennt apps: Opens a lisst of thumbnail images of apps you’ve used recently. To open an appp, touch it. To remove a thumbnaail from the list, sw wipe it left or right. • Settings an nd Quick Settingss To change yoour device's settinggs, including your network, sounnd, account, and many others, go to the Settings screeen: 1- In youur Favorites tray, toouch the All Apps 23- icon. icon and touchh it. f the Settings Look for Select the setting you waant to change q access to setttings like Wi-Fi, screen You can get quick brightness, annd others you use frequently by goinng to Quick Settinggs 12- Swipee down from the toop of the screen witth one finger to pull down the notifications shadee. Touch it to expplore additional options, often includinng a Help item thaat provides more information about that screen. CONNEC CT TO WI- FI NETWO ORKS You can connnect to Wi-Fi netw works with your device, as well as add networks you use often or remove nettworks c also change thhe you don't usee any longer. You Y can find them m at any time when yoou touch the Homee button. • Add apps and widgets to yoour Home screen w of an You can add apps and widgets ("at-a-glance" view mportant informatiion) to your Home app’s most im screens so yoou can easily find them. To add an appp or widget to a Home screen: Go to the Hom me screen where you y want to place the t app or widget. 12 123- Touchh the All Apps iconn Swipee up, if necessary, to t find the app or widget you want. To renname a folder, toucch its name. 13 MAKE & RECEIVE E PHONE CALLS • Make, receeive, and block ph hone calls You can place calls from the Phhone app , Coontacts app , Peoople app , or other apps or widggets that display contact informationn. Wherever you see a phone numbeer, you can usuallyy touch it to dial. • Make a ph hone call To open the Phone app, touch the t Phone icon on your mobile devicee. Wherever you see s a phone numbeer on your screen, you y can usually touch it to dial. Youu can use the Phonee app to make a phhone call in the folllowing ways: 1- Dialpaad: Touch the Diallpad wheneveer you want to t use the keypad to t manually type inn a phone number. Type thee number, then touuch the Phonee icon below the keeypad to make a caall. If you tyype a wrong numbeer, touch 14 backsppace 2- 3- 4- to erasee digits one by one. To at the end a call c in progress, toouch end call bottom m of the screen. Speed dial: Touch the "S Speed dial" tab forr onetouch dialing for your faavorites and numbeers you call freequently. Just toucch the contact in thhe list and thhe call will start. Recennts: Touch the "Reccents" tab to view your call log and select a conttact or number thaat you recently called. Contaccts: Touch the "Coontacts" tab to seleect from the listt of all your contaccts. Once you select a contacct, touch their phonne number to placee a call. • Manage in ncoming phone caalls When you recceive a phone call,, you'll get a notifiication that you havee an incoming call.. If the caller is an existing contaact in your Contaccts app or People app, you may see addittional informationn about the caller. You can choose too answer or dismisss the phone call annd send a text messagge to the caller. c in the followinng way: You can mannage an incoming call wer or dismiss the call You caan choose to answ from within the notificattion simply by touchiing Answer or Dism miss. 2- For moore options, touch the notification too open it, thenn touch the white phone icon, and sliide over one o of the followinng icons: o Answer call: Touchh the green phone icon to annswer the call and start talking to thee caller. 1- 15 o Send to voicemail: Touch the red phoone iccon to direct the caaller to leave a voiccemail message. Send a text messagee to the caller: Touuch the message icon t open a list of quuick to shhort text responsess or the option to write yoour own message and send it to the caller im mmediately. You can c edit text responnses frrom within the Phoone app by touchinng the menu icon thenn selecting Settingss, Other Settings and then Quick responses. To block a caall, follow these steeps: 12- Open the Contacts app w to block or addd that Touchh the contact you want contacct. 34- Touchh the menu icon Checkk the box next to "B Block incoming caalls" uring a call • Options du During a call, you can touch thee following icons in i the Phone app: 1- Touchh to switch too the dial keypad. 2- Touchh to turn the speakerphone on or o off. If a Blueetooth headset is coonnected, this funcctions as a thhree-way switch am mong the built-in earpiece, the speeakerphone, and thhe headset. The icoon 16 changees to indicate the current output. Touuch and hold too see a three-way menu. 3- Touchh to mute youur microphone. 4- Touchh to put the otther party on hold.. 5- Touchh to switch too another call in progress. 6- Touchh to merge seeparate calls as a siingle conferrence call. her incoming calll • Answer orr respond to anoth To answer annother incoming caall while you're alrready in a call, touch the t white phone iccon and slide to ansswer, respond with a text message, orr send the call to voicemail. If you answerr, the first call willl be put on hold. Iff you respond with a message or sendd to voicemail, youu return to the first call. MANAG GE YOUR C ONTACTS AND CA ALL LOG • Manage yoour contacts Favorite conttacts, contacts you call often, and conntacts you star will show on the screenn when you open the Phone app. Open your Phone appp by touching your mobile device. on To go to a contact's card, simplly touch their namee from your list of coontacts. You can manage your contaacts in the followingg ways: 17 2- Searchh: If you're lookingg for a specific conntact, you caan search your conntacts or for nearbyy places in the Search bar at the top t of the screen. Add a contact: To add a contact touch the menu 3- , then touch New w contact and add the icon contacct's information. Iff you're signed in too a Googlle Account, the new w contact will sync with your account. Favoriite: To make a conntact a favorite, touuch the 1- 4- 5- star icoon on a contaact's card and it wiill show up u in the speed diaal tab when you oppen the Phonee app. Organnize: You can organnize the contacts on o your screenn in your speed diaal list by touching and holdinng them to move thhem around. Edit: To T edit a contact, touch the edit 6- icon on a contact's card. Share:: To share a contacct or place it on a Home screenn for easier access, select it from the 7- contaccts list, then touch the menu icon Removve: Touch and draag contacts to the toop of the scrreen to remove theem from the grid. • Use the call log You can see a list of all the callls you’ve placed, received, or missed in the Receents tab in the Phonne app. It's an easy way w to redial a num mber, return a call, or add a number to your contacts. To use the caall log, follow thesee steps: 18 123- 456789- Open the t Phone app on your device. Touchh the "Recents" tabb. You'll see a list of o your most recent incoming annd outgoing calls. Touchh View full call hisstory to see more calls. Touchh "Call back" to diaal the number. 10- Touchh the trash icon your call c log. to delete the calll from 11- Touchh the the menu iconn , then Edit numbeer to make changes to the call back number. SEND & RECEIVE TEXT MESSAG GES • Open messsaging From a Homee or All Apps screeen, touch the Messsaging icon The Messaginng screen opens, where you can creaate a new messagee or open an ongoinng conversation. 19 To read the messages in an exissting conversation, touch the conversattion. A list of its messages appears. Touch & hold a messsage to take any of o these actions: 12345- Copy the messsage text. Copy text. Forwaard. Forward the message to one of your contaccts or another recippient. Lock. Prevent the messaage from being delleted if you reeach your storage limits. View details. View inforrmation about the message and the sender. Deletee. Delete the messaage from the conveersation. • Delete a coonversation 1- While viewing the list of conversations, toouch & hold a conversation to seelect it. 2- Touchh the Trash icon converrsation. to delete the To delete all conversations, go to the main Messaaging screen and touch Menu > Delette all threads. • Search Meessaging To search forr a specific word or contact do the following: 1- 2- Touchh the Search icon i. The T Search Messagging field appears at a the toop of the screen. Use thhe onscreen keyboaard to type your seearch terms. 20 • Premium Text message warnings Apps may sometimes send text messages using premium services that cost you money. To alert you to such charges, Android detects any attempt by an app to send a message on your behalf. If it looks like the message may cause you additional charges, you'll see a dialog indicating the name of the app, the address to which the text message is being sent, and a warning. When this happens, you can choose to cancel the message or send it anyway. From a Home or All Apps screen, go to Messaging > Menu > Settings. • Storage settings 1- Delete old messages. Check to delete older messages in a conversation when limits are reached. Uncheck to keep all messages. 2- Text message limit. Touch to set the number of text messages to save per conversation. When the limit is reached, older text messages are deleted if Delete old messages is checked. 3- Multimedia message limit. Touch to set the number of multimedia messages to save per conversation. When the limit is reached, older multimedia messages are deleted if Delete old messages is checked. • Text message (SMS) settings 12- Delivery reports. Check to receive a delivery report for each text message you send. Manage SIM card messages. Manage text messages stored on your SIM card. 21 • Multimediia message (MMS S) settings 1234- Deliveery reports. Check to receive a deliveery report for each multimeddia message you seend. Request too receive notificatiions Read reports. that yoour message was read by the recipiennt. Auto-rretrieve. Check to automatically retrrieve multim media messages thhat you receive. Roamiing auto-retrieve. Check to automatiically retrievve multimedia messsages while roamiing. • Notificatioon settings 123- Notifications. Check to display message notificcations in the statuus bar. Soundd. Touch to select a ringtone for message notificcations. Vibratte. Touch to have your phone vibratee when messaages are received. TYPE TE EXT BY SP PEAKING You can speaak to enter text in most m places that yoou can enter text witth the onscreen keyyboard. 1. Touchh a text field, or a location in text youu’ve alreaddy entered in a textt field. 2. 3. Touchh the Microphone key on the onsscreen keyboard. When you see the microophone image, speaak what w to type. you want Say “comma,,” “period,” “questtion mark,” “exclaamation mark,” or “exxclamation point” to t enter punctuation. (Spoken punctuatiion is currently suppported 22 in English, French, German, Italian, Russian, and Spanish.) When you pause, what you spoke is transcribed by the speech-recognition service and entered in the text field, underlined. You can touch the Delete key to erase the underlined text. If you start typing or entering more text by speaking, the underline disappears. To improve processing of your voice input, Google may record a few seconds of ambient background noise in temporary memory at any time. This recording remains on the device only fleetingly and is not sent to Google. RELAX WITH GOOGLE PLAY Google Play brings together all your favorite content in one place – movies, TV shows, books, music, magazines, and more – so you can reach it from any of your devices. If you purchased content on Google Play in the past, you'll automatically have access to this content on other Android devices - just make sure you're signed in to the same account you used to purchase it. • Use Google play widgets These widgets are available for your Home screens: 1- My Library: Displays your most recently used music, books, and so on. Touch any of the images to see your content. 23 2- 3- Recom mmended on Play: Suggests music, movies, and otther content that may m interest you. Toouch the sugggestion to learn more about it. Recom mmended apps: Reecommends apps thhat you can addd to your Home sccreen. Touch the recom mmendation to learnn more about it. touch & holld, then let go and drag To resize a widget, the blue dots.. To remove it, touuch & hold, then drrag it to the Remove icon at the top of thhe screen. To add anothher Google Play wiidget, touch the All Apps icon, thhen Widgets, and swipe from right too left until you see the one you want. Then touch & holld, and let go in the Home screen location you want. Play • Shop on Google To open the Google Play Store app, touch the Plaay Store icon on a Hom me or All Apps scrreen. Most things you y purchase on Google Play are avaailable from your com mputer as well as from any of your 24 Android mobile devices. (Android apps are one exception – they run only on Android devices.) Sign in to play.google.com to get your entertainment from anywhere • Google Play Support For more detailed information about Google Play, including phone and email support options, visit: Support.google.com/googleplay CHANGE THE WALLPAPER To change the wallpaper that's displayed on your Home screens: 12- 3- Touch & hold anywhere on a Home screen that's not occupied. A list of options appears. Touch a wallpaper source, such as Live Wallpapers. You can download additional wallpapers on Google Play. To set a wallpaper, touch Set wallpaper or, for other images, drag the blue dots to determine the cropping and touchOK. To change your device's wallpaper in Settings, touch Settings > Device > Display > Wallpaper. 25 WIRELE ESS & NETW WORK SETTIN GS • Optimize data usage Data usage iss the amount of datta that your devicee uploads or doownloads in a giveen period. You cann check your data usaage in the Settings app on your devicce. You can see how you y use data and change the settingss to make sure yoou’re not using dataa unnecessarily. Important: Thhe data usage you see in your devicee’s Settings app is i measured by youur device - your caarrier could count data d usage differenntly. If you go overr your plan’s data ussage limit, your caarrier could charge you fees. Check your plan to see yoour data limits. You can turn mobile data on orr off in the Settingss app. If it's off, youu can’t use data ovver your mobile nettwork and many feaatures of your deviice and apps mightt not work correctlly. You’ll still be able a to use data if you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network. Keep in mindd that you need to have a SIM inserteed in your device too see the mobile data d option. You neeed to assign cellulaar data usage to a SIM S before adjustiing data usage settingss. To turn mobile data usage on or off, follow these steps: 123- Open the Settings menu on your devvice. Underr Wireless & netwoorks, touch Data usage. Move the switch next too "Cellular data" orr "Mobiile data" to the On or Off position. Iff you're turningg data off, touch OK. 26 • Check you ur data usage To check how w you much data you y use on your deevice, follow these steps: 12- Open the t Settings menu on your devvice. Underr Wireless & netwoorks, touch Data usage: - In the Mobile tab, you can see how much data you usse on your carrier'ss data network or networks. If more than one o is displayed, toouch the tabbs at the top of the screen to switch betweeen them. - To seee Wi-Fi usage, touch the menu icon in the topp right corner of thhe screen. Check thhe box next too "Show Wi-Fi usaage." In the Wi-Fi tab on the maain screen, your deevice will show hoow much data you use over Wi-Fi connectionns. 3- wing settings : You caan check the follow - Checkk current data usagge: By default, youu’ll see the date range of your most m recent data usage cycle. You can see how much data you’vee used in thatt time period simplly by looking in beetween the tw wo vertical white linnes on the graph. - Checkk data usage from different time periodds: Move the verticcal white lines on the graph to the time periodd that you want to view. Then check to see how much data you useed duringg that period of tim me. - Checkk total data usage: You Y can see the tootal data usage for the time period you select below the graaph. - Checkk data usage by appp: You can see how w much data eaach of your apps iss using below the graph. 27 Apps are a listed in order of how much dataa they’vve used. • Set data ussage Warning You can set a warning to alert you y when your devvice uses a certainn amount of data. This T feature is onlyy available if yoou have mobile daata. To set a data usage warning, foollow these steps: 123- 4- on your devvice. Open the Settings menu Underr Wireless & netwoorks, touch Data usage. In the graph that shows your data usage, drag the line byy its right side to thhe level where youu want to receeive a warning. When your data usage reeaches this level, you'll receivve a notification onn your device. • Set data ussage limit on your device You can set a limit to the amouunt of data that youur device uses. When your data ussage reaches that liimit, mobile data on o your device will turn off automatiically and you'll recceive a notificationn. Many features on your device might not work correctlyy when data is turnned off. i only available iff you have mobile data. This feature is To set a data usage limit, follow w these steps: 123- Open the Settings menu on your devvice. Underr Wireless & netwoorks, touch Data usage. Turn on o Set cellular dataa limit or Set mobbile data limit depending on yourr version of Androiid. 28 456- When the dialog box apppears, read the meessage, and toouch OK. Drag the t line at the top of o the graph by its right side too the limit you wannt to set. When your data usage reeaches this level, mobile data onn your device willl turn off automaticcally and yoou'll receive a notification. To turn mobile data back on, foollow these steps: 123- on your devvice. Open the Settings menu Underr Wireless & netwoorks, touch Data usage. Move the switch next too "Cellular data" or "Moobile data" to the On O position. • Change yoou data usage setttings You can adjuust your data usagee settings to optimiize the data that you use. Some apps usse data only when you’re using them. Other apps use dataa in the backgrounnd, even if you’re not actually using the app. You can conserve data usage byy changing how annd when apps you use access data You can consserve data usage byy turning off accesss to data while yoou’re on your mobiile network. If youu do this, you wonn’t be able to get anny data over your mobile network, but you’ll still be ablee to use data when you connect to a Wi-Fi network. To turn off daata access over youur mobile networkk, follow these steps: 29 1234- Open the t Settings menu on your devvice. Underr Wireless & netwoorks, touch Data usage. Use thhe switch next to "C Cellular data" or "Mobile data" to t turn it off, then touch OK. To turrn mobile data backk on, simply movee the switchh to the On positionn. ming • Data Roam Data roamingg allows your devicce to send data oveer other carriers’ netw works when you leaave an area that is covered by yoour own carrier’s networks. You cann conserve dataa usage by turning off data roaming.
