Please read this manual carefully before using your System so that you are flilly familiar with the
operation of this latest vasion of Two-Way System and can take the full advantage of every
marvelous feature provided by Boomerang System.
Proper wire connections and components placement are essential for optimum System performance.
Due to expertise and complexity required for proper installation ofthe Boomerang System, we highly
recommend that the installation be done by an authorized dealer.
Thank you.
Brief look at each device
1-1. Main control module
This module is a main computer of the Vehicle Alarm System. It is usually installed under the bottom
of the vehicle dashboard.
1-1. Communication module
Transmits and receives RF signals with the Remote Control. Stanis LED Lamp and a Valet button is
built into the Module
At the lefi side is a tuning screw for adjusting the range of Proximity door unlock sensing.(l] See 649,
page 2677) It mounts to the window blind of the driver's seat with a clip.
14. Shock sensor
It senses the impact to the vehicle body. When an impact is applied to the vehicle, The sensor signals
the Main Control Module to set ofi‘ the Horn/Siren alarm sound and to activate the Remote Control’s
audio and visual warning signals,
1-4. Siren

1-5. Paging I Temp. Sensor (optional-Not available 1 US model)

the temperature of the passenger compartment for displsy on the LCD screen ofthe Remote Control.
Brief look at each device
1-6. Remote Control ~
The Remote Control consists of TX/RX electronic cirwits, LCD screen, quartz clock, melody buzzer
and s vibrator.
'l‘hree.rectangulsr buttons at the bottom of the LCD screen are used to program the System, The three
lower round buttons are used to operate each function of the System.

Each graphic icon displayed on the LCD screen and each different melody/beep tone emitted from
the Remote Control gives you both visual & audio infomtstion on the vehicle's status, every
operating status / process of the System or System's present status.
The [ED screen is illuminated for approximately five seconds when you press button a or if the
vehicle is tunpered with. To make sure of each button pressure, each distinctive melody/beep sounds
whenever you press the buttons.
Points to noted for your better use
1-1. About Two-Way transmission
The System uses two-way signal transmission, so the time required for communication takes longer
than usual when communicating remotely either to operete the System or to check the operation
result A That’s because a lsrge amount of infomtion (bytes of signals) is exchnnged between the TX
part and RX part of the System with one press of a button.

2-2. Battery replacement
The Remote Control is powered by a l.5V type LR03 AAA alkaline battey. When the battery power
begins to weaken, 7? icon displays on the LCD screen.
When the old battery is replaced to new one, three beeps sound firm the Remote Control, the ICD
screen is illuminated for approximately five seconds and the Remote Control vibrates and the clock
on the LCD screen returning to AM12:00 sher displaying all icons.
Correct the time and be sure to press button a one time in Inning stems before using.
2-3. About LCD screen
The LCD screen on the Remote Control displays graphic icons or figures. It provides you visual
information on any trigger of the sensors and around the clock surveillance of your armed vehicle as

each fisnction by checking corresponding graphic icon or figures displayed on the LCD screen.

It is recommended to press the button in between beeps
on the Remote Control to make sure of shut-down.
In the event that you lock the doors with the Remote Control while any
of the doors are not closed completely, a little longer chirp sound will
be emitted and alarm sound will he activated approximately ten seconds later
although the doors are locked.
In arming status, the red Status LED lamp indicator on the Communication Module
flashes once in a second, showing that the System is actively protecting your vehicle,
El Ifan optional relay is connected to the dome light, the dome light
continues flashing while alarm is being activated.
3-2. Door unlock & disarm the Vehicle
1. Press button E in arming status,

If you do not open the vehicle within approximately 30 seconds after
disarming the vehicle with the Remote Control, the doors look again
automatically and the vehicle returns to arming status.

‘ when you unlock/disarm the vehicle with the Remote Control, it means that
one of the doors was forced to open while you were out of transmission range.
If the turn signal lights flash three times with three chirp sounds
when you unlock/disarm the door with the Remote Control, it means that
the Shock Sensor was triggered while you were out oftrunsmission range.
CI 2 stage door unlock
It requires a simple programming of the System to enable the feature and consuh with your dealer/Z7
1. When you press button T in arming stamr, only the driver’s door is unlocked.
2. When you press button T again, all other doors are unlocked.
3-3. Trunk release
1. Press button SET.
2. Press button sand the trunk opens.

Even in arming status or when the vehicle is remotely starting, the
tmnk can be opened with your Remote Control. The Shock Sensor is
bypassed for one minute afier opening the trunk and so long as
you close the trunk within one minute otter pressing the button, the
impact of trunk shut-down will not trigger the Shock Sensor.
However, during above sequenoe, the door trigger or other sensors
are ready to activate normally.
3-4. Emergency panic alarm
Ifyou feel threatened at any time, you can trigger Hour/Siren alarm sound fi'orn anywhere within the
Remote Cornrol's range, even item within the vehicle and while in driving, whether or not the
System is armed.

3-6. Vibration mode
This is usefiil when you are in a noisy place and it is difficult to hear beep semid from the Remote
Control In this mode, the Remote Control vibrates if your vehicle is tampered with.
1. Press and hold down button PROG for
approximately three seconds.
2. The Remote Control will be in vibration
mode and, onthe LCD screen, the 777
icon displays.
To return to sound mode, press and hold down button FROG for
approximately three seconds.
3-7. Indoor temperature check (Not available in US model)
It is useful when you want to check the temperature in the passenger compartment before cooling or
heating of your vehicle.
1. Press button FROG.

3-9.Bntton lack mode
If you wish to disable the signal transmission fimction from the Remote Control, you may implement
this fimction, to lock out any other button operation.

1-10. System's status check
When you want to check the System's present status on the LCD screen, press button
approximately two seconds in arming status. With one melody sound, the LCD screen illuminates
approximately five seconds. By pressing button A approximately two seconds, you can also check if
your Remote Control is within range of transmission or not. Ifwithin the range, a light melody sound
emits with 77? icon displayed on the LCD screen. lfyou are out ofrange, five warning beeps emits.
3-11. Personal alarm call
Ifyou set time and activate the alarm mode, the melody continues sounding , when the time arrives,
for approximately 30 seconds to remind you of the appointment time or to wake you up.
Afier set the time you want,

Alarm functions
$1. Alarm by door, hood or trunk open sensing
The System goes into arming status if you lock the doors afiel- exit him your vehicle and arm the
System with Remote Control alter the elapsed preset delay time. (El See 9—4, page 777) In arming
status, if the doors/hood/trunk are opened without using Remote Control, the Horn/Siren slnrm
sounds and the tum signal lights continue flashing while the System immediately reports the
triggered alarming status to the Remote Control, On the LCD screen, Hoof, Hood‘ or ‘ OPEN’
indication is displayed according to the triggered point with simultaneous icon flash 777, 777 or 777
respectively and warning beeps continue sounding from the Remote Control,

4-2. Alana by shock sensing
Ifany external impact is applied to the body of your vehicle , the Horn/Siren alarm sets off and turn
signal lights continue flashing while the System immediawa reports the triggered alarm status to the
Remote Control.

D Dual-stage shock sensing
When any lighter impact is applied to the vehicle, Hom/Siren slam sets off for approximately five
seconds and tum signal lights continue flashing to warn away any potential intruders. If heavier
impact is applied again, Siren/Hom alarm shall blast ofl’l‘or the duration of your set time.(D See 9-5,
page 77736) The dual-stage sensing feature may reduce ‘false‘ alsnn.
4-3. Hidden alarm (alarm sound Oil)
It‘you program the alarm sound mode to OK mode [I-Io OF] (El See 8-1, page 7729), the vehicle's
Horn/Siren will be silenced and turn signal lights will not flash even if my of the sensors are
triggered in the arming status. However, loud warning beeps oontinue sounding from the Remote
about the emergency state of the triggered alarm.
Therefore, in secret, you can immediately detect any unauthorized violation to your armed vehicle.
This will also eliminates potential 'false‘ alarms which can be a nuisance in a residential area.
4-4. Engine start disable in sharing status (optional)
Il’this optional feature is incorporated, the vehicle's engine will not start, in anning status, even with
your ignition key. No prior an up is required if the option is installed as part of System installation in
the vehicle. Consult with your nearby dealer.
4-5. Auto rearming
The doors are locked automatically and the System returns to arming status by itself if,
Cl the doors happened to be unlocked by pressing the button of the Remote Control inadvertently or
El you do not open the door within approximately 30 seconds alter disarming the vehicle with your
Remote Control.
4-6. Auto lighting of dome light (optional)
The dome light stays turned on for approximately eight seconds afier you unlock the doors with the
Remote Control. It is convenient when you approach your vehicle in the dark at night.
When the Horn/Siren alarm is set off, the dome light in the vehicle also flashes to draw added
attention ofthe passers~by. To enable this function, consult with your nearby dealer.
4-7. System trigger cheek

in approximately six seconds,

During the remote start time, turn signal lights
continue flushing every two seconds. From the
Remote Control, an icon showing the gns
emission flashes on the LCD screen and melody
sound emits every two minutes to remind you of
running engine.
To shut down the engine. press button E . Or unlock and
lock the doors by pressing button E of the Remote ControL
Blower fan , air conditioner or heater starts to operate approximately
one minute afier engine start. Before your last exit from your vehicle,
make sure that the control switch of the air conditioner or heater
is tumed on to your desired temperature and the blow San should be
turned on too in advance.
The remote started engine will shut down automatically when your
set time is elapsed( D See 9-2, page ?734 for programming engine
running time) even if you do not shut down the mmsing engine,
It‘the engine has failed to mn at first attempt, the System repeats
cranking up to three times with approximately three seconds delay
between each attempt.

or programmed starting, the engine will shut down and the Ham/Siren

While the engine is running remotely, the System senses the door pin
switeh's trigger although the shock smsors trigger is bypassed.
5-2. Engine start memorizing for standard transmission vehicles
The System senses the neutral transmission gear position and there is no prior setup required,
The System in the standard transmission vehicles runs as following process to sense and memorize
the neutral transmission gear position before you exit the vehicle However, if the vehicles are of
automatic transmission gear, this process is omitted,
l. The engine will continue mnning for fisrther one minute even afier you pull off the ignition key
from the key cylinder.
2 Exit from the vehicle within one minute after pulling olf the
ignition key. The engine continues running, which is normal
operating process.
3. Close all the doors and press button
4, The engine shuts down immediately and the System is now
ready for next remote (or programmable) engine start.
To cancel shove prior memorizction process for the remote
or yrognlumed engine start lequence,
Pull off the ignition key while the driver's side door is opened and the
dome light stays turned on. Then, the engine shuts down immediately
and prior-menwriution for the next engine start is cancelled.

Pull off the i nition key before your exit from the vehicle and then
press buttonfi of the Remote Control while you are inside the vehicle.
Then, the engine shuts down immediately and prior-memorization
for the next engine start is cancelled.
5-3. To enter the vehicle after starting engine
1.Press button m while the engine is running
2.The doors are unlocked, the System is dissrmed and the flashing
turn signal lights stops simultaneously.
If you enter the vehicle while the engine is mnning and turn the
ignition key to '0N' position within one minute sfier unlocking the
doors, you do not need to crlnk the stutter motor lgain for driving.

5-4. Programmed engine start

Remote Control and also should he in arming status with all the doors locked.

Convenience features
6-1. IG auto door lock & unloek
Approximately three minutes alter turning the ignition key to the 'ON position, the doors are
automatically locked. When you turn ofl‘ the engine, the doors are unlocked immediately.
The red struts LED lamp on the Communication Module starts blinking when the IG door lock
sequence starts. It stops blinking when the doors are looked approximately three minutes later,
The 16 lock function will be disabled if you turn on the ignition key while the doors stay open.
Therefore, he sure to turn on the ignition key alter closing all the doors to enable the 1.6. lock
function.
Ifthe vehicle has factory-equipped speed sensing door lock system, you should make sure to disable the
function by programming the System to [dr OF] mode. (D See 8-3, page 7730)
This is useful in the event that someone wants to page the driver of the parked vehicle.
It‘someone tries to page you by tapping the Paging (lorock) Sensor which is usually mounted on the
bottom part of the front window, the paging melody sound continues sounding from your Remote
Control and 'C.4LL' indication flashes on the LCD screen.
1. To shut down the pag‘ng melody sound from the Remote Control,
press button 2? or .
2. It is recommended to press the button while the melody sound from the Remote Control
is on hold.
D When tapping the Paging(knook) Sensor, one chirp sound emits from the vehicle.
D The function works only in arming status.
6-1. Automatic recharge ol'vehicle'a battery
With this feature selected to 'bA ON' in the System Programming 1 mode (D See 8-6, page 7732), the
System mna the engine automatically for the preset time in arming mtus in the event that the
vehicle's battery voltage drops below “V to prevent the vehicle‘s battery li-orn complete discharge.
The fianction oper‘tes only one time until the next start of the vehicle‘s engine.
6-3. Operational error warning
The Remote Control emits wanting beeps if you operate the System inadvertently, for instance, by
praising the engine-start button of the Remote Control while the vehicle is in disarming status or
when pressing buttons beyond the transmission range.
6-4. Cold weather start
This firnction protects the vehicle's engine from the severely cold weather. No extra setup is required
ifprogrammed according to the process in the System Programming 2 mode. (D See 9-3, page 357?)
Ailer setup, simply park your vehicle afler arming the System and the engine will start rututing and
shut down automatically for the set time at every 1 hour, 2 hours or 3 hours' interval aocording to
your set time.
Not available in US model 6-5. Temperature check
You can monitor, from the LCD screen, the present indoor temperature of the passenger
compartment before cooling or heating your vehicle. (D See 3-7, page 1577)
6-5. Turbo engine charge
To protect the engine and assure efficient shut—down of vehicles with Turbo engines, this firnction
continues running the engine for an additional 1 or 3 minutes even though you remove the ignition
key and lock the doors lflef exit li'om your vehicle.(D See 9-1, page 7734)
Not available In US model 6-12 Ute ofone-way Remote Control
The System can be conth by the one-vary Remote Control separately supplied. Refer to article
in page 42 k 43 for the details of available function and memorize the node to the System according
to the code memorizing process before using it.
6-6. Proximity door unlock
It'you set this firnction to 'Ad ON” 7777? mode in the System Programming 1 mode (D See 8-7, page

Before entering into above progrsm setup mode, you should enter a default password (33) and make
the System in Valet mode as in the following steps;

3. Turn the ignition key to ‘OFF’ position.
