USER’S MANUALFRS PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONThe Family Radio Service ( FRS ) is the newest generation in personaltwo - way communications.  FRS radios operate in a license - freeband, on one of 14 license -free channels.The OBATF-460A is a lightweight, palmsized two - way radio that youcan carry almost anywhere.  use it at shopping malls, sporting events,amusement parks, or any other activity where communications are neededfor convenience or safety.The radio provides about a 2miles range of communications - allowingyou to keep in touch with family, friends or a neighborhood watchgroup.The OBATF-460A is a fourteen channels model. You can talk to another personusing any FRS radio, provided that you can on the same frequency with button.
CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS¡¤Push-To Talk button - Permits radio transmissions¡¤Antenna¡¤Power/Volume Control - Used to turn the radio on/off, and Adjust thelistening volume¡¤Microphone - Transmits voice signals¡¤Channel programming with button - Used to program the radio channelfrequency¡¤Belt Clip - Used to secure the radio to a belt, or another convenientlocation.¡¤Battery Compartment - Houses 4 AAA size batteries which provide power to theunit.(Located on back of unit)
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS¡¤Install 4 new AAA size batteries,The (-) flat bottom of the battery rests on the (-) terminal of thebattery compartment, and the (+) top contacts the (+) terminal. Refer todrawing below for proper battery installation.Note: Always remove batteries if product will not be used for longperiods of time.¡¤Replace the battery compartment door.¡¤Turn the power on rotating the power/volume knob clockwise.The radio will sound a melody tone.¡¤To transmit,Hold the radio 2-3 inches from your mouth, Press the Push-To-Talk buttonon the radio side, and speak clearly into the microphone area of theradio. For best quality, Speak slowly and to a normal tone of voice. Thereis no need to speak loudly.¡¤When your transmission is complete,Release the PTT button and listen for a reply.¡¤When not using the radio,Conserve battery power by turning the unit off. Rotate the Power/VolumeKnob counter-clockwise to detent.
