PC INTERFACE ADDENDUM
Operating Uniden SportCat 5050 Scanner with Add-on PC Interface
The modified SportCat with PC interface has been enhanced by the addition of
an add~in board that manages the PC to Scanner connection. This interface along
with appropriate PC software allows all too memories of the $6150 to be
programmed or re-programmed as desired.
The add-in board has two modes of operation. when the scanner is turned on
with a cable connected between the scanner and PC the add-in board enters
PROGRAMMING MODE and the PC interface circuitry remains active allowing the
scanner to be programmed from the PC. If the scanner is turned with no cable PC
interface cable attached the add-in board enters POWER SAVE MODE which turns off
the PC interface circuitry to conserve battery power.
PROGRAMMING THE SCANNER USING THE PC INTERFACE
Turn Scanner OFF.
Connect PC hterface cable between scanner and PCs serial port.
Tum scanner ON.
Select 'BANK' mode on the scanner using the keypad.
Follawhstrucfionshdudedwithyoursottwareta programttuscanner.
> Select 'HOLD' mode on scanner using the keypad.
> Turn scanner OFF.
Disconnect PC interface cable.
