2 SAFETY
2.1 Lithium batteries
In addition to the battery pack that powers the handset, Artema uses Lithium
batteries in order to backup internal data. The Lithium batteries in normal usage
conditions have a 6 year life expectancy. These batteries should only be replaced by
an approved service center.
CAUTION
Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced.
Replace only with the same or equivalent type
recommended by the manufacturer.
Dispose of used batteries according
to the manufacturer’s instructions.
2.2 Safety Information
All Terminals:
Avoid immersing the device in water
RF and DataTAC Terminals:
Turn off the terminal in any area where radio transmissions are prohibitted
(such as fuel storage areas)
Not intended to be used in a moving vehicle (may interfere with electronic fuel
injection, electronic anti-skid brakes, and electronic cruise control systems)
May interfere with the functionality of inadequately protected medical devices,
including pacemakers (consult with physician or device manufacturer if you
have any questions)
Do not use with a broken antenna
Warning: To comply with the FCC RF exposure requirements, this unit must be
operated with a minimum separation distance of 1 inch (2.4 cm) between the
antenna and a person's body.
Artema is an electrical device. It must be used under normal
conditions as described in this manual.
DO NOT OPEN THIS DEVICE. This device contains no user
serviceable parts. Service by non-authorized personnel may void the
