1Before operating the monitor please read this manual thoroughly. If themonitor falls, it can injure a person and cause serious damage to theappliance. Use only a cart or stand recommended by the manufactureror sold with the monitor. If you mount the monitor on a wall or shelf, usea mounting kit approved by the manufacturer and follow the kitinstructions.?Slots and openings in the back and bottom of the cabinet are providedfor ventilation. SWIVEL BASETo attach the swivel base to the monitor, do the following:?Carefully turn the monitor on its side or upside down. ( see figure 1 )?Locate the cavities at the bottom front of the monitor.?Insert the pegs on the swivel base into these cavities. This monitor has a universal power supply that allows operation in either100/120V AC or 220/240V AC voltage area ( No user adjustment isrequired. )3. Connect the power cord into your monitor’s power input socket, and thenplug the other end into a 3-pin AC power outlet. The power cord may beconnected to either a wall power outlet or the power outlet socket on yourPC, depending on the type of power cord supplied with your monitor.     VIDEO CABLEConnecting the Video Cable:  the monitor comes with a built-in video cable.Plug the signal cable?s 15-pin connector into the computer's video port andtighten the two screws on the cable connector. (see figure 2)Caution: Don’t bend the signal cable, otherwise it will break the inner wire.Connecting the Power Cord: Plug the power cord into the monitor's ACpower socket. 7OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS   The other control knobs  are located at the base of the monitor (See Figure3). 9   FRONT PANEL CONTROL?Standby power key :When pressed, the monitor enters the off mode, and the LED turnsorange. Press again and hold to restore normal status.?Shuttle Knob :The Shuttle Knob is used to control the monitor  functions.  Rotate toswitch functions or adjust settings.   Press to select or execute afunction .?OSD Key :The OSD Key is used to activate the OSD window, or to exit the OSDwindow and save the settings.?Power Indicator :Green    —    Power On mode.Orange  —    Stand-by mode, Suspend mode, or Off mode.  SWIVEL BASE CONTROL (7GlrA ONLY ) :?Audio Power ON or OFF Audio Power?Power IndicatorGreen     —    Audio Power ON.?VolumeAdjustable Audio volume.  NOTES?Do not install the monitor in a location near heat sources such asradiators or air ducts , or in a place subject to direct sunlight , orexcessive  dust or mechanical vibration or shock.?Save the original shipping carton and packing materials, as they willcome in handy if you ever have to ship your monitor.?For maximum protection, repackage your monitor as it was originallypacked at the factory.?To keep the monitor looking new, periodically clean it with a soft cloth.Stubborn stains may be removed with a cloth lightly dampened with amild detergent solution. Never use strong solvents such as thinner,benzene, or abrasive cleaners, since these will damage the cabinet. Asa safety precaution, always unplug the monitor before cleaning it.
10   1. Press the Shuttle Knob or OSD Key to make the OSD window appear.See figure 4.2. Rotate the Shuttle Knob to select the desired function. See figure 4.3. Press the Shuttle Knob again to select the function that you want toadjust.4. Rotate the Shuttle Knob to change the settings of the current function.5. When the OSD window is active, it shows the input signal  timing. The"H" stands  for the horizontal frequency and "V" for the vertical frequency.6. To exit and save, either press the OSD Key, select the exit function, orleave the monitor alone for 10 seconds. ROTATION Adjust the picture tilt to horizontal position.13. 6500°K/9300°K( COLORTEMPERATURE )The color temperature for 6500°K is x=0.313,y=0.329 and 9300°K is x=0.283, y=0.297. Itpresents two different color sets on thescreen. You can select 9300°K or 6500°K bypressing the Shuttle Knob.14. USER COLOR( Red / Blue  ) If the 9300°K  normal white or 6500°Kwarmer white  do not satisfy your desire,properly adjust R . B GAIN controls to obtainyour optimum whiteness level.15. DEGAUSS If  color impurity occurs when moving   orswiveling the monitor, press the ShuttleKnob  and degauss  to fix the picturecondition.16. MOIRE REDUCE Moire is the result of interference betweenthe phosphor layout and the video signal. Insome cases, you may find the moire verynoticeable. Press the Shuttle Knob to enterin the moire reduce setting.  Please adjustthe level to the optimum condition. Note: Toohigh of a setting  will cause the picture toshake.17. RECALL Press RECALL to restore the monitor tofactory settings.18. EXIT Close  OSD  window.

13   The power management feature of this product complies with every powersaving requirements of ENERGY STAR? and VESA DPMS when activated, itautomatically reduces unnecessary power consumption of the monitorwhen your computer is not in use.To use the feature, the monitor needs to be connected to a VESA DPMScomputer. There are three power management modes available, these aredescribed below. The required settings, including the timer setting, shouldbe made by the computer.?Stand-by ModeWhen the H-sync signal from the computer is off, the monitor enters intoStand-by Mode which reduces the power consumption to less than 15W.The screen becomes dark, and the power indicator turns to orange. FromStand-by Mode, the screen reappears instantaneously when thekeyboard or the mouse is touched again.?Suspend ModeWhen the V-sync signal from the computer is off, the monitor enters intoSuspend Mode which reduces the power consumption to less than 15W.The screen becomes dark, and the power indicator turns to orange. FromSuspend Mode, the screen reappears instantaneously when thekeyboard or the mouse is touched again.?Active-off ModeWhen both the H and V sync signals from the computer are off, themonitor enters into Active-off Mode which reduces the powerconsumption to less than 5W. The screen becomes dark, and the powerindicator turns to orange. 14  FEATURESGreen monitor?The monitor has a power saving function that conforms to the VESADPMS standard. This feature will only work if your PC is a green PC. Thisfeature is similar to a screen saver, except that your monitor will turn it offinstead of activating the screen saver.To activate this feature in Windows® 98 :In Windows® 98, this feature can be activated and customized under thescreen saver setting of the display properties.1. Right click on the desktop and choose Properties.2. Click on the tab that says Screen Saver. If your system supports GreenPC, there will be a section entitled “Energy Saving Features of Monitor.”If there isn’t a section like that, then your PC does not support GreenMonitor. The monitor will behave just like a normal monitor, so you willhave to turn it off manually to save energy.3. In the “Energy Saving Features of Monitor” sections are two boxes,Standby and Shut off. To activate either one, click the box next to eachone.4. You can specify the amount of inactive time before your monitor entersstandby mode or shuts off.Plug & Play DDC1/2B FeatureThis monitor is equipped with VESA DDC1/2B capabilities according to theVESA DDC STANDARD. It allows the monitor to inform the host system of itsidentity and, depending on the level of DDC used, communicate additionalinformation about its display capabilities. The communication channel isdefined in two levels, DDC1 and DDC2B.The DDC1 is a unidirectional data channel from the display to the host thatcontinuously transmits EDID information. The DDC2B is a bidirectional datachannel based on the I²C protocol. The host can request EDID informationover the DDC2B channel.PLUG AND PLAY
15THIS MONITOR WILL APPEAR TO BE NON-FUNCTIONAL IF THERE IS NOVIDEO INPUT SIGNAL. IN ORDER FOR THIS MONITOR TO OPERATEPROPERLY, THERE MUST BE A VIDEO INPUT SIGNAL.This monitor meets the Power Management standards as set by the VideoElectronics Standards Association (VESA) and/or the United StatesEnvironmental Protection Agency (EPA) and The Swedish ConfederationEmployees ( NUTEK ). This feature is designed to conserve electricalenergy by reducing power consumption when there is no video input signalpresent. When there is no video input signal this monitor, following a time-out period, will automatically switch to an OFF mode. This reduces themonitor's internal power supply consumption. After the video input signal isrestored, full power is restored and the display is automatically redrawn. Theappearance is similar to a "Screen Saver" feature  except the display iscompletely off. The display is restored by pressing a key on the keyboard, orclicking the mouse.  USING THE RIGHT POWER CORD :The accessory power cord for the Northern American region is the walletplug with NEMA 5-15 style and is UL listed and CSA labeled. The voltagerating for the power cord shall be 125 volts AC.Supplied with  units  intended  for  connection  to  power outlet of  personalcomputer: Please use a cord set consisting of a minimum No. 18 AWG, typeSJT or SVT three conductors flexible cord.
