Users Manual
This document describes procedures to perform the following tasks:
•Install and remove the eZGo Anywhere
™
Standard On-Board Unit (OBU) in your vehicle.
General Installation Information
Placement: For optimum performance, your eZGo Anywhere OBU must be installed at least 2 inches (5.1 cm)
from the metal of the windshield frame and 1 inch (2.5 cm) from the rearview mirror support post. See the eZGo
Anywhere Standard OBU Placement Guide to ensure that the OBU is installed on the windshield correctly. This
guide is included in these instructions.
Metallized Windshields: Some vehicle windshields contain a metallic treatment that could prevent an interior
windshield-mounted OBU from working correctly. If you have a vehicle with a metallized windshield, you may
need to install an exterior eZGo OBU on your vehicle instead of the interior windshield-mounted OBU. Contact
your local OBU customer service center for more information.
Tinted Windshields: Some vehicles have a metallic tint across the top of the windshield that might interfere with
reading the OBU. If your windshield has this metallic tint, install the OBU at least 2 inches (5.1 cm) below the
tinted area. Nonmetallic tint does not affect OBU performance.
Metal Sun Visors: Some vehicles have an exterior-mounted sun visor that might interfere with reading the OBU. If
your vehicle has this visor, mount the OBU at least 2 inches (5.1 cm) below the visor.
Required Supplies
•The eZGo Anywhere Standard OBU Placement Guide included with these instructions
•Commercial glass cleaner for cleaning windshield

To install the eZGo Anywhere OBU
The eZGo Anywhere OBU is supplied with 3M
™
Dual Lock
™
mounting strips.
1. Determine the OBU installation location for your vehicle using the
eZGo Anywhere Standard OBU Placement
Guide
for your vehicle.
2. Use glass cleaner to clean the interior surface of the windshield where the OBU will be located.
3. Peel off the double-faced barrier on the mounting strips and press the OBU against the windshield for 10
seconds.
Note: When you install the OBU on the windshield for the first time, leave it in place for at least 48 hours to allow
the adhesive to cure.
To remove your OBU from the windshield, grip your OBU at the top and bottom sides. Gently lift the OBU away
from the windshield on one end until the OBU is free from the windshield. Be careful not to hit the rearview mirror.
Note: This equipment may not be modified, altered, or changed in any way without permission from TransCore,
LP. Unauthorized modification may void the equipment authorization from the FCC and will void the
TransCore warranty.

eZGo Anywhere Standard OBU Placement Guide
Choose this option if your mirror post is
attached low on the windshield.
Use this placement guide to locate the approximate
position of the standard OBU. If the upper portion of your
windshield is tinted with aftermarket-conductive tint, use
the next option. Follow the installation instructions to
mount the OBU.
Choose this option if your mirror post is
attached high on the windshield.
Use this placement guide to locate the approximate
position of the standard OBU. If the upper portion of your
windshield is tinted with aftermarket-conductive tint,
place the OBU at least 2 inches (5.1 cm) below the tinted
area. Follow the installation instructions to mount the
OBU.
Choose this option if your mirror post is attached
to the headliner.
Use this placement guide to locate the approximate
position of the standard OBU. If the upper portion of your
windshield is tinted with aftermarket-conductive tint,
place the OBU at least 2 inches (5.1 cm) below the tinted
area. Follow the installation instructions to mount the
OBU.
