 CChhaapptteerr  11  Introduction Congratulations on your new purchase! The Bluetooth Wireless Car Kit will help make your driving experience more convenient and provide you with years of trouble free use. Product overview and features The Car Kit is designed to make driving your car and talking on the phone safe and easy. It consists of a receiver, a four-button mountable control module, a multi-directional microphone, and a speaker. When properly installed, the Car Kit en-ables you to talk freely to somebody on your mobile phone without having to lift the phone at all. The Car Kit is equipped with a mute feature, which turns the volume of your car stereo down when you are using your phone. This feature can be disabled by an installation professional.

 CChhaapptteerr  22  Getting started The Bluetooth Car Kit is designed to function with many brands of mobile phones including Nokia, Siemens and Sony-Ericsson. The Car Kit can only operate with one phone at a time. If you wish to switch phones, it is necessary to reset the Car Kit, and establish a new connection. (Refer to “Resetting the Car Kit”.) Nokia mobile phones setup This section describes setting up and using the Car Kit with a Nokia phone. Establishing a wireless connection Refer to the following to establish a wireless connection between your phone and the Car Kit. (Details on changing your phone’s settings are provided in the user’s manual that came with your phone.) 1. Turn on the car ignition, then turn on the phone. 2. Scroll through the Menu and select Bluetooth. 3. Set Bluetooth to On. Bluetooth switched on appears on the screen. Note: If you omit this step, the phone will automatically prompt you to turn on the Bluetooth function. 4. In the Bluetooth options, select Search for audio accessories. 5. A Devices found prompt is displayed, and Triamp is highlighted. Press Se-lect.
Bluetooth Car Kit user’s manual 4   6. An Enter passcode prompt is displayed. Enter the factory default passcode “1234”, and press Select. The Car Kit settings are stored in the phone’s memory. Even when disconnected, the telephone stores the settings making re-connection automatic. Disconnecting the phone The phone automatically disconnects when you are outside the 10-meter range of the junction box. To manually disconnect the phone, follow one of the methods below. Method 1: 1. Scroll through the Menu and select Bluetooth. 2. Set Bluetooth to Off.  Disconnect? Triamp appears on the screen.  3. Select OK.  Disconnected:Triamp appears on the screen. Then Bluetooth switched off appears on the screen. Method 2: 1. Scroll through the Menu and select Bluetooth. 2. Scroll to View active devices. Press Select. Triamp appears under the heading Active devices. 3. Select Options. 4. Scroll to Triamp, Disconnect and press Select.  Disconnected:Triamp is displayed on the screen.  Re-connecting the phone
Chapter 2—錯誤! 尚未定義樣式。  5 You only need to re-connect the phone if you manually disconnect it. Refer to the following to re-connect the phone: 1. Turn on the car ignition, then turn on the phone. 2. Scroll through the Menu and select Bluetooth. 3. Select View paired devices. 4. Select Triamp and press Options. 5. Scroll to Establish Bluetooth connection, and press Select. Connected to Triamp appears on the screen. Setting automatic authorization  Automatic authorization enables the phone and Car Kit to communicate without prompting you each time a connection is made. If this feature is disabled, you are prompted to enter the passkey every time you get into the car. Refer to the following to change the setting: 1. Turn on the car ignition, then turn on the phone. 2. Scroll through the Menu and select Bluetooth. 3. Select View paired devices. 4. Select Triamp and press Options. 5. Scroll to Request conn. authorization and press Select. 6. Select No to automatically connect.  Select Yes to manually connect. Using the control module
Bluetooth Car Kit user’s manual 6   The Car Kit is operated using the following four-button control module: Volume UpVolume downAnswer/DisconnectLED indicator light Redial/VoiceRecognition Control Module Functions  Answer/Disconnect Press to answer a call. Press again to hang up.  Volume Down Press during operation to lower the volume.  Volume Up Press during operation to increase the volume.   Redial/Voice Recognition Press once to re-dial the last number called.  Press and hold for two seconds to activate the Voice Recognition function. After the tone, repeat your pre-recorded voice tag: the number automatically dials.

Resetting the Car Kit When changing phones it is necessary to reset the Car Kit and establish a new connection. Refer to the following: 1. Press and hold the Volume Down button. 2. With the Volume Down button pressed, press the Answer/Disconnect button. The LED will turn off. The Car Kit is now reset. Important! To ensure a successful reset, do not turn off your car ignition while resetting the Car Kit.
Bluetooth Car Kit user’s manual 8   Notes on using voice recognition Voice recognition is a feature of your phone which enables you to dial a number by saying a pre-recorded “voice tag”. Normally when you set a voice tag, you speak directly into the phone. When accessing this feature with the Car Kit, you may find it necessary to re-record the voice tag while you are in the car. This will set not only the way you say the voice tag, but also record a familiar background noise.  Since Nokia phones are in continual contact with the Car Kit, it is possible to use the included Car Kit’s microphone to record the voice tag. Locate the feature on your mobile phone, and when prompted for the voice  tag, speak clearly from a comfortable position in the driver’s seat. Troubleshooting  My Nokia mobile phone can’t make a connection q Make sure the bluetooth function on your phone is enabled. q Make sure the car ignition is on. q Reset the Car Kit and try again. q Turn your Nokia mobile phone off and on again, and try the proceedure for connection once more. When my Nokia mobile phone is ringing and I adjust the volume, the call is disconnected. qWith some Nokia phones, adjusting the volume before the call is initaited will disconnect the call. Wait until the call is answered, then adjust the volume. My phone doesn’t recognize my voice tags for voice recognition. qRe-record voice tags using the Car Kit’s supplied mircophone while you are in the car. qClose your windows while using voice recognition. qSpeak clearly in the same manner in which the voice tag was recorded.

Establishing a wireless connection Refer to the following to establish a wireless connection between your phone and the Car Kit. (Details on changing your phone’s settings are provided in the user’s manual that came with your phone.) 1. Turn on the car ignition, then turn on the phone. 2. Scroll through the Menu and select Connect. Press Yes. 3. Scroll to Bluetooth and press Yes. 4. Scroll to Receive item and press Yes. 5. The Assign a personal phone name prompt appears.  Assign a personal name if you wish, or press No. 6. Ready to receive Infrared and Bluetooth appears. 7. Scroll to Connect and press Yes. 8. Scroll to Bluetooth and press Yes. 9. Scroll to Discover and press Yes. 10. Scroll to Triamp and press Yes. 11. The prompt Add to paired appears. Press Yes. 12. Enter the factory default passkey number 1234 and press Yes.
Bluetooth Car Kit user’s manual 10   13. The Triamp name appears on your screen. To exit this screen without chang-ing the nametag, press No. The Car Kit settings are stored in the phone’s memory. Even when disconnected, the telephone stores the settings making re-connection automatic. Disconnecting the phone The phone automatically disconnects when you are outside the 10-meter range of the junction box. To manually disconnect your Sony-Ericsson phone, follow the procedure below. 1. Turn on the car ignition, then turn on the phone. 2. Scroll through the Menu and select Connect, then press Yes. 3. Scroll to Bluetooth and press Yes. 4. Scroll to Paired devices and press Yes. 5. Scroll to Triamp and press Yes. 6. Scroll to Delete and press Yes twice. Re-connecting the phone You only need to re-connect the phone if you manually disconnect it. Refer to “Establishing a wireless connection” steps 6 to 12, to re-connect the phone: Once you manually remove the Triamp device from your phone, you must follow the procedure for connection again, starting from step six.

Pressing this button once will activate communication between the phone and the Car Kit. Your car stereo will mute and the LED will turn on, but there will be no phone call placed. To turn off the communication between the Car Kit and your phone, press the “Answer/Disconnect” button on the Control Module. Press and hold for two seconds to activate the Voice Recognition function. After the tone, repeat your pre-recorded voice tag: the number automatically dials.  LED indicator light The LED is only on during calls. Resetting the Car Kit When changing phones it is necessary to reset the Car Kit and establish a new connection. Refer to the following: 1. Press and hold the Volume Down button. 2. With the Volume Down button pressed, press the Answer/Disconnect button. The LED turns off. The Car Kit is now reset. Important! To ensure a successful reset, do not turn off your car ignition while resetting the Car Kit.

Establishing a wireless connection Refer to the following to establish a wireless connection between your phone and the Car Kit. (Details on changing your phone’s settings are provided in the user’s manual that came with your phone.) 1. Turn on the car ignition, then turn on the phone. 2. Scroll through the Menu and select Connectivity. Press Select. 3. Scroll to Bluetooth and press Change to activate Bluetooth. Then press Op-tions. 4. Scroll to Search for …  and press Access. 5. Scroll to Triamp and press Select. 6. You are prompted to enter the PIN number. Press OK. 7. Enter the factory default passkey number 1234 and press OK. The Car Kit settings are stored in the phone’s memory. Even when disconnected, the telephone stores the settings making re-connection automatic.

LED indicator light The LED is only on during calls. Making a call Refer to the following to make a call: 1. Press and hold the Answer/Disconnect button until the LED turns on. 2. Dial and send the call from the phone.  3. When the call connects, press the Answer/Disconnect button. 4. Press the Answer/Disconnect button to end the call. Bluetooth Car Kit user’s manual 20     Warranty information Please retain the sales receipt as proof of purchase. During the one-year warranty period, the product is eligible for replacement in case of defects in material and workmanship. In such cases, the defective unit will be repaired or replaced by the manufacturer or an authorized distributor. However, this warranty does not cover damages caused by improper use or from unauthorized modifications by third par-ties. In addition, this warranty does not cover expendable materials and defects, which constitute as normal wear and tear.
