3Managingpower Removing/swappingthebattery Ifyourelyonbatterypowerforalongperiodoftime,considerpurchasinganextendedlifebatteryoranadditionalstandardbatterytouseforbackup. Thetabletcomputerisfittedwithaninternalbatterythatmaintainsnormaloperationforareasonableperiodoftimewhiletheexternalbatteryischanged.However,Trimblestillrecommendsthatyousaveallworkbeforeyoureplacetheexternalbattery. Toreplacethebatterywithabatterythathasbeenchargedoutsideofthedevice,dothefollowing: 1. DisconnectthetabletcomputerfromtheACpower.2. Unlockthebatterycompartment,andremovethebattery.3. Insertthereplacementbattery,andlockthebatteryinplace. YouMUSTlockthebattery;thebatterychargestatusontheDesktopdisplaysanerrorifthebatteryisnotlockedin,and,ifthetabletcomputeristurnedoff,itwillnotturnon. Checkingthechargelevelofthebattery Tocheckthelevelofbatterycharge,ontheDesktop,taptheBatteryiconintheNotificationsareaatthebottomrightofthescreen. Powermanagementandpower‐savingtips Thepowermanagementfeaturehelpsreducepowerconsumptionextendingbatterylife. TheTrimbleKenaitabletcomputersupportsACPI(AdvancedConfigurationandPowerInterface)forpowermanagement.Powersupplytodifferentcomponentsiscontrolledonanas‐neededbasis.Thisallowsmaximumpowerconservationandperformanceatthesametime.
