The WS4933 is designed to monitor the CO gas levelin residential dwellings and give early warning beforepotentially dangerous levels are detected. This deviceis intended for use with a compatible wireless alarmsystem.The detector consists of an electrochemical carbonmonoxide sensor assembly coupled to a wireless trans-mitter. The Wireless Carbon Monoxide Alarm com-municates with the control panel and can send alarm,tamper and battery condition messages to the system’sreceiver.Caution: The detector expiry date is stamped on thedetector. The equipment isdesigned to be installed by SERVICE PERSONSonly; (SERVICE PERSON is defined as a person hav-ing the appropriate technical training and experiencenecessary to be aware of hazards to which that per-son may be exposed in performing a task and of meas-ures to minimize the risks to that person or otherpersons.)Failure to properly install, test and maintain a COdetector may cause it to fail, resulting in loss of life.Installation of the CO detector should not be used as asubstitute for proper installation, use and maintenanceof fuel burning appliances, including appropriate vent-ilation and exhaust systems.This carbon monoxide detector is designed for indooruse only. Do not expose to rain or moisture. Do notknock or drop the detector. Do not open or tamperwith the detector as this could cause malfunction. Thedetector will not protect against the risk of carbonmonoxide poisoning if not properly installed.CAUTION: This device will only indicate the pres-ence of carbon monoxide gas at the sensor. Carbonmonoxide gas may be present in other areas. This car-bon monoxide alarming device is designed to detectcarbon monoxide gas from ANY source of com-bustion. It is NOT designed to detect smoke, fire orother gases unless the product has been investigatedand determined to comply with applicable require-ments.Installation InstructionsBattery InstallationTo replace the battery:1. Remove the detector from its mounting base bytwisting it counterclockwise. Remove and dis-pose of the battery according to your local reg-ulations.2. To ensure proper power-down sequence, wait aminimum of 20 seconds before installing thenew battery.3. Install a new 3-volt CR123A Panasonic Lithiumbattery in the battery compartment observingcorrect polarity. If the battery is incorrectlyinserted, remove gently with a non-conductivetool and correctly reinsert.4. Reinstall the detector onto the mounting base byturning it clockwise.5. After the power-up sequence, the green LEDshould blink once every 12 seconds to indicatenormal operation. If the battery is not installedcorrectly, the detector will not operate and thebattery may be damaged.EnrollmentAt the alarm control panel, program the 6-digit serialnumber of the WS4933 (located on the back of thedetector). Please refer to your control panel install-ation manual for details.Selecting a LocationSelecting a suitable location is critical for the COdetector.
