use with the Sentrol 4000 Series Wireless System and
compatible ZX Control sold separately. The 4300
Series provides the following lectures:
Diagn atlc mode allows you to check the detector's
sensitivity with the Alarm/Diagnostic LED
Low current operation allows the detector to run on
two lithium batteries (included) tor up to 5 years
Clo-"Ma” Salt-dilunoatlca monitor! its own sensitiwry
and operational status. It the detector drifts out at the
UL listed sensitivtty range or tails internal diagnostics, it
extinguishes its LED and sends a trouble Signal to the
control panel as required by NFPA 72
Built-In drltt compenltatlon automatically adiusts
sensitivity up to t own to compensate tor dust and dirt
buildup
Optional ban tamper sends a trouble signal to the
control panel when the detector is removed tram its
mounting base.
Optional asue temporal sounder provides additional
protection With a sounder that protects an ANSI tempo
ral rhythm until smoke has cleared or the detector Tesl/
Silence button is pressed.
Optional integrated llxad 135‘F temperature and rate
at rlae heat detector otters double protection Either
the heat detector or smoke detector trips alarm transmit»
tar and internal sounden
Optional Iaolated tlud temperature and rat- oi rtla
heat detector provides an ideal smoke detector tor
kitchens and hotel/ motel/donnitory rooms where smelting
is allowed. The 'smolte‘ detector only activates the
internal soundarflocal alarm) but does not transmit an
alarm to the control The independent “heat" detector
activates the LED and alarm transmitter.
Optional low temperature supervision sends a low
temperature supervtsion signal when the ambient
temperature around the detector reaches approlimataly
43°F (8°C), Seeerale transmitter signal (second
transmitter address lD) is assigned to a Critical Condi-
tion monitoring zone.

SELECTING A LOCA‘HON
Selecting a suitable location is critical to the operation at
smoke detectors. Consult the Local Authority Having
Jurisdiction (AHJ) and NFPA 72 tor specific installation
intormation regarding smoke detector spacing, placement,
and spemal applications
The 4300 series can be mounted on ceilings or walls.
Use the lollowtng guidelines to select a suitable location
lor the smoke detector:
- Locate ceiling-mounted smoke detectors in the center
at a room or halhuay at least 4 inches irom any walls or
partitions.
- Locate wall-mounted smoke detectors so the top oi
the detector is G to t2 inches below the ceiling.
- Locate In a suitable anvuonment as lotlows:
- Temperature between 40°F and IUO‘F
- Humidity hatwem D and 95% non-condensing
- Locate away tron-i air conditioners, heating registers
and any other ventilation source that may intenere
with smoke entering the detector
- Mount smoke detectors on a firm permanent surtace.
