Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the AmpliFi™ Teleport System.
This Quick Start Guide is designed to guide you through
installation and also includes warranty terms.

Router Front
The front of the AmpliFi Router features an
adjustable, full‑color touchscreen display.
The bottom of the AmpliFi Router features an
adjustable LED that is fully lit by default when
the Router is configured and ready for use.
The brightness settings of the touchscreen and
LED are configurable using the AmpliFi app.
Router Back

Four Gigabit Ethernet ports available to
connect 10/100/1000 Mbps wired network
devices to the internet.
Connects to the broadband modem provided
by your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
Reserved for future use.
The Power Adapter connects to this port.

Installation of the Router
The AmpliFi Router can be installed using one of the
following methods:
• AmpliFi app for iPhone®
• AmpliFi app for Android™
• Connecting to the default AmpliFi wireless network
(SSID) from a computer or tablet.
App Users
Download and install the AmpliFi app from the App Store
or Google Play™ Store.
If you are not using the app to install the AmpliFi Router,
please skip step 1.

Launch the AmpliFi app.
iPhone Users: Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled.
Android Users: Ensure that Wi-Fi is enabled.
Power off your broadband modem.

Connect one end of the Ethernet Cable to your
broadband modem and the other end to the
Internet port on the AmpliFi Router.

Connect the Power Adapter to the power

App Users Follow the on-screen instructions to
configure your AmpliFi Router.

Non-App Users Perform the following steps:
Tap the touchscreen on the AmpliFi Router.
Use a computer or tablet to connect to the unique
wireless network (SSID) displayed on the screen of
your AmpliFi Router.

Launch a web browser to trigger the following
AmpliFi Wi-Fi Setup Wizard. When prompted, name
your wireless network and create a password.
Click Save & Continue.
Connect to the new wireless network you created in
the previous step.

Installation of the Teleport
1 Using the mobile app, connect to the AmpliFi Router
wireless network that you created in the AmpliFi Setup
Wizard on page 13.
Tap the Teleport icon and select Test Connectivity.
If any portion of the test fails, please refer to
amplifi.com/teleport/guide for assistance.

Connect the Teleport to a power outlet and wait for the
LED to start flashing with a full circle.
Connect your mobile device or computer to the wireless
network named Teleport XXXXXX, where XXXXXX
represents the last six characters of the Teleport’s MAC
address, which is located on the device label.
When the setup portal opens (tap Sign in to Wi-Fi
Network or manually browse to http://amplifi.lan, if
necessary) configure the wireless network you will use to
access Teleport in the future. It will replace the wireless
network described in step 4.

Select the network you will use to connect Teleport to
the internet.
Teleport will reconfigure as needed and
connect to the network you selected.
Connect to the wireless network you configured in step
5 to continue setup (tap on Sign in to Wi‑Fi network or
browse to http://amplifi.lan if the setup portal doesn’t
open automatically).
If the network you selected in step 6 has a
guest portal, you will be redirected there for
authentication, after which setup will resume
(this can take longer on some devices, but you
can speed it up by reconnecting to Teleport).

Using the mobile app, tap Yes, pair this Teleport to pair
the Teleport with the AmpliFi Router after verifying that
its MAC address matches the device label.
Teleport will connect to your home network. The setup
portal may close during this process.

Verify that setup was successful by browsing the web or
checking Teleport’s status in the mobile app.
It is recommended that you enable Remote
Access on the router. (See page 20.)
If you selected your home Wi-Fi in step 6,
relocate Teleport to a different network. This
may include a different home, office, hotel,
public Wi-Fi, or mobile hotspot.
You can reconfigure your Teleport at any
time by opening http://amplifi.lan in your
browser.
The pairing between the Teleport and your
router can be cancelled at any time by
resetting either of the devices. This is useful
if the Teleport is ever lost or stolen.

Resetting to Factory Defaults
Factory defaults can be restored to either device. Using
an object such as a straightened paper clip or pin, press
the Reset button located on the bottom of the AmpliFi
Router or Teleport device for approximately 10 seconds
until the LED turns off.

App Features
Remote access can be enabled using your Facebook or
Google account. To enable remote access, go to the side
menu as shown on page 20.
System
Performance

The system dashboard is displayed
in the System window. It provides an
overview of the AmpliFi Wi-Fi system
including network status, number of
connected clients, and active
download/upload speeds. Tap devices
to display/edit settings.
Tap Start Test on the Performance
screen to run a speed test that will
provide your download speed, upload
speed, and connection ping time. Swipe
left on the throughput section to view
additional data. A history of recent tests
is displayed at the bottom.
Guest
To provide guest access, determine
the number of guests, select a time
limit for their access, and tap Start.
Guests simply connect to your wireless
network named with the -guest label. No
password is required. As guests connect,
the number of users connected will be
displayed in the app. Tap Stop at any
time to turn off the guest network.
The Family Profiles feature allows you
to create profiles for family members,
groups, or areas of your home. Assign
devices to the profile, schedule quiet
time (when Internet is not accessible),
and pause the internet at any time.
The Diagnose option will check
your WAN link, IP settings, internet
connection, and MeshPoint status.

Side Menu - 24/7 Live Chat Support
Tap the menu icon in the upper left corner to access
additional options. Tap Live Support for 24/7 live chat
support. Remote Access can also be enabled from this
menu.
Live chat is also available at help.amplifi.com by
selecting Chat with us in the bottom right.

Limited Warranty
UBIQUITI NETWORKS, Inc (“UBIQUITI NETWORKS”) warrants that the product(s) furnished hereunder (the
“Product(s)”) shall be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the
date of shipment by UBIQUITI NETWORKS under normal use and operation. UBIQUITI NETWORKS’ sole
and exclusive obligation and liability under the foregoing warranty shall be for UBIQUITI NETWORKS,
at its discretion, to repair or replace any Product that fails to conform to the above warranty during
the above warranty period. The expense of removal and reinstallation of any Product is not included
in this warranty. The warranty period of any repaired or replaced Product shall not extend beyond its
original term.
Warranty Conditions
The above warranty does not apply if the Product:
(I)
has been modified and/or altered, or an addition made thereto, except by Ubiquiti Networks, or
Ubiquiti Networks’ authorized representatives, or as approved by Ubiquiti Networks in writing;
(II)
has been painted, rebranded or physically modified in any way;
(III)
has been damaged due to errors or defects in cabling;
(IV)
has been subjected to misuse, abuse, negligence, abnormal physical, electromagnetic or
electrical stress, including lightning strikes, or accident;
(V)
has been damaged or impaired as a result of using third party firmware;
(VI)
has no original Ubiquiti MAC label, or is missing any other original Ubiquiti label(s); or
(VII)
has not been received by Ubiquiti within 30 days of issuance of the RMA.
In addition, the above warranty shall apply only if: the product has been properly installed and used at all
times in accordance, and in all material respects, with the applicable Product documentation; all Ethernet
cabling runs use CAT5 (or above), and for outdoor installations, shielded Ethernet cabling is used, and for
indoor installations, indoor cabling requirements are followed.
Returns
No Products will be accepted for replacement or repair without obtaining a Return Materials
Authorization (RMA) number from UBIQUITI NETWORKS during the warranty period, and the Products
being received at UBIQUITI NETWORKS’ facility freight prepaid in accordance with the RMA process of
UBIQUITI NETWORKS. Products returned without an RMA number will not be processed and will be
returned freight collect or subject to disposal. Information on the RMA process and obtaining an RMA
number can be found at: www.amplifi.com/support/warranty
