USER MANUAL Pendant (Simple DECT phone for Elders) Model : OOMA-HWSP01 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTION : When using your telephone equipment, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury, including the following: 1) Read and understand all the instructions. 2) Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product. 3) Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning. 4) Do not use this product near water (for example, near a bath tub, kitchen sink, swimming pool). 5) Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result in the risk of fire or electric shock. 6) Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to Vtech under the following conditions: • When the power supply cord or plug is damaged or frayed. • If the product does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. • If the product has been dropped and the cabinet has been damaged. • If the product exhibits a distinct change in performance. 7) Avoid using a telephone (other than a cordless type) during an electrical storm. There may be a remote risk of electric shock from lightning. 8) Do not use the telephone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS Caution for Rechargeable battery : 1) The Pendant is equipped with Li-ion battery. You cannot replace it by yourself. Do not disassemble the unit and take out or replace the battery pack. 2) The use of other battery types or non-rechargeable batteries/primary cells can be dangerous. These may cause interference and/or unit damages. The manufacturer will not be held liable for damage arising from such non-compliance. 3) 4) 5) 6) Do not use third party charging bays. Package contents The package contains the following items: • 1 Pendant unit with necklace attached • 1 charger with AC power adapter • 1 User manual The maximum range between the base station and the Pendant is approximately 250 meters. Depending on the surrounding conditions as well as spatial and structural factors, the range may be reduced. The range indoors is normally less than outdoors. 1 INSTALLING YOUR PENDANT WITH A DECT PHONE First to power up your Dect phone used at home. Then power up the Pendant. Do the registration procedure with the Dect phone. See section 4, “Enter Registration Mode”. Pls use only the provided adaptor connected to the charger base. Important : Charging the Pendant unit for at least 5 hours before use. The buttons and structure : microphone LED indicator Loudspeaker 2. Functions for the Buttons : POWER/TALK ON/OFF In idle mode: Press to place a call. Press and hold to power the wireless headset on or off. During a call: Press to end the call. During registration: Press to exit the registration mode. VOLUME UP During a call: Press to increase the earpiece volume. During ringing: Press to increase the ringer volume. VOLUME DOWN/FLASH During a call: Press to decrease the earpiece volume. Press and hold for 2 seconds to do a Flash (R) to answer a second incoming call. During ringing: Press to decrease the ringer volume. M1 Short press to dial the direct Memory M1. This is for Confort 250/450 and GT350. M2 Short press to dial the direct Memory M2. This is for Confort 250/450 and GT350. RESET Use a pin to push the button, it will reset the unit when it is found mal-function. 3. Front LED Indicator functions : Purple: Steady On : Un-register Slow Flash (0.5s On -> 4.5s Off) : The unit is registered but the base is not available. Searching or out of range. Blue: 1. Steadily on: When the PENDANT is seated in the base and fully charged. 2. Steadily on 3s (On 3s -> Off) : Once the PENDANT is successfully registered, the blue light will on for about three seconds, and emit a long beep. 3. Double flashing (0.25 On -> 0.25 Off -> 0.25 On -> 9.25s Off, On for 2s when just off hook): Off hook. 4 .Double flashing (0.25 On -> 0.25 Off -> 0.25 On -> 9.25s Off , On for 2s when just off hook): Off hook but the signal is weak. Hear 3 rapid beeps in every 10s. 5. Long flashing (0.5s On -> 4.5s Off ): The unit is in idle mode and off the base. 6. Continuously flashing (0.5s On -> 0.5s Off ): The unit is ringing and can be heard through the speaker. Red: 1. Steadily on: When the unit is charging on the base. 2. Long flashing : Indicates that the battery is low, the unit is not on the base, and the unit will emit short double beeps. 3. Double flashing (0.25 On -> 0.25 Off -> 0.25 On -> 9.25s Off ): Indicates that the battery is low while the unit is in use and short double beeps will be emitted. Red/Blue: Toggling (0.5s Red On -> 0.5s Blue On) : The unit is in registration mode after press and hold Vol+ and Vol – keys for 10s. 4. Enter Registration Mode : To work as the handset extension, the Pendant must be registered to the base. 1. Press and holdon the base station, until you hear a beep and the IN USE LED on base station starts to flash. 2. Press and hold together with until the LED on wireless headset toggling between red and blue. 3. Place the Pendant unit close to the Base. 4. A long beep tone is generated and the LED on in blue for a while if the registration is successful. Note: To register the Pendant unit, the system PIN of the Dect phone base should be 0000. Or else, the registration will be failed. Remark : It will hear the voice message in below 3 events : 1. Battery low 2. Out of range 3. Not Registered 4. Use the Pendant : To receive a call with the Pendant : Press the Phone on key when receiving a call with ringer on. Talk to the caller with the PENDANT about 1 foot from your mouth. After the caller release the line, press the Phone on key to standby mode. To dial the M1 or M2 numbers stored in the Dect phone : You can press the M1 or M2 key to dial the phone number which is stored in the M1 or M2 of the Dect phone. Remarks : 1. Fine tune the speaker sound level refer to the incoming level and your hearing sensitivity, especially for elder person. 2. The microphone is on the top left side. Do not cover it by your finger when in talk mode 3. Place the unit on the charger bay after use it to make sure the battery power is full. 4. If the unit is not working even the battery is charged, use a pin to reset the unit (there is the reset hole on the rear side under the VOL - key.
