INSTALLATION OF BATTERY PACK IN HANDSET

The Handset ol your W9122ls powered by a rechargeable battery pack. it charges automati-
cally whenever the Handset is in the Base Unit. The battery pack needs charging when:
The low battery icon is displayed:
A beep will be generated every 3 seconds at TALK mode only.
Handset will return to standby it Ihis Condilion lasts for 3.5

minutes.
To charge the battery pack, place the Handset in the Base Unit. The IN USE/CHARGE indica-
tor win light to show the Handset is seated properly and the battery pack is charging. it is
recommended that the battery pack should be charged tor at least 16 hours initially. Aflerr
‘ wards, 5 hours of maintenance charging should be sulticient.
To replace the battery pack, follow the steps below:
1. Remove the battery case cover by pressing on the ridged lines and sliding downward.
2. Discard the old battery pack by pulling firmly on the battery cords. Don't put the old battery
pack in a trash compactor or a tire - it could burst. Please recycle.
3. Snap in the new battery pack, WiIh the wires in the lower lelt corner. Insert the battery
plug into the socket. aligning the two holes in the plug with the sod(et pins.
4. place the cord in the caseso it rests below the battery pack.
5. Replace the battery case cover by sliding the cover upwards.
6. Place the Handsel in the cradle OI the Base Unit to allow N Is
charge lor 16 hours, a

Do not dispose ol this battery pack into household garbage. For
intorrnation on recycling or proper disposal, consult your local solid
waste collection or disposal organization.

2. Do not dispose ot the battery pack in a tire. The cell may explode.
3. Do not open or mutilate the battery pack, Released electrolyte

1. Line up the tabs on the wall mount adaptor with the holes on the bcflom ot the Base UmL
Snap the wall mount bracket firmly in place.
2. Plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet. and the DC Connectorto the back at Ihe Base
Unit. ll the Handset battery pack has not been charged previously, place the Handset in the
Base Unit cradle. and allow it to charge tor 16 hours,
3. Connect the telephone line cord (0 the jack on me back at the Base Unit, and the other end
to the wall jack.
4. Mount the Base Unit on the wall, Positl'on the Base Unit so the mounting stubs will fit into the
holes on the wall mount bracket. Slide Base Unit down on the mounting stubs until it locks
into place.

The vrg122 is also equipped with a detachable bell cttp.
Aiign the pins on the inside edge ot the bell clip with the
notches on the side of the 10-9122 handset. The bell clip
should snap securely lnIc place. Do not iorce the connec-

it only with a solt cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild soap. Do not use excess water
or cleaning solvents ol any kind:

THE PHONE DOESN’T WORK AT ALL.
' Make sure the power cord is plugged in.
- Make sure the telephone line cord is plugged firmly into the base unit and the telephone wall
jack.
- Make sure the hatteries are properly charged. lt the Low
Battery indicator is on, the battery needs charging.

' If you inIl don't hear a dial tone, disconnect lhe base unit Irom the telephone jack and
connect a difletenl phone. it there is no dial tone on that phone either, the problem is in your
wiring or local service. Call your local telephone company. 3;

NEARTHE BASE UNIT.

- Ensure that the ringer is turned on.
- Make sure the telephone line cord is plugged firmly into the base unit and the telephone jack.
Make sure the power cord is plugged in,

- You may have too many extension phones on yourielepnone line to allow all oi them to ring.
Try unplugging some at the other phones.
YOUR CALLER FADES IN AND OUT. ‘
- Vou may be nearly out oi range. Move closer. or relocate the base.
YOU HEAR OTHER CALLS WHILE USING YOUR PHONE.
- Press CHAN key to switch to another channel.
. Disconnect your base unit Irom the telephone jack, and plug in a regular telephone. it you
still hear other calls, the problem is probably in your wiring or local service. Call your local
telephone company. ‘
YOU HEAR NOISE IN THE HANDSET, AND NONE OF THE KEYS OR
BUTTONS WORK.

- Your base unit and handset may not be operating on the same channel. Place the handset in '

4. Connect power to the base.
5. Install the handset batlery padfi
5. Put the handset In the base to re-irlilialize. II the handset has not been recently Charged,
allow 16 hours betcre use.
