This product is designed to provide years of service if handled properly. Follow these
precautions for safe usage:
1. This remote sensor has been designed for residential use and should not be used
for industrial purposes. The units should be installed and used in accordance with
the instructions contained in this manual.
2. Read through these instructions before installation. Follow the instructions
carefully and carry them out in the correct order. Keep the manual on hand for
future reference.
3. Never immerse either the home receiver or the remote sensor in water. This can
seriously damage the product.
4. Do not tamper with internal components on the unit.
5. Do not mix old and new batteries.
6. Do not use rechargeable batteries in this product.
7. Remove the batteries if storing these units for a long period of time.
8. Do not make changes or modify these units in any way. Unauthorized changes
may void your warranty.

INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of this Remote Sensor. This unit provides updated
information on outdoor temperature, and operates within a 100-foot radius (Open Area)
of the home receiver. Up to three remote sensors (sold separately) can be utilized to
monitor temperatures in various areas of your home (e.g., outdoors, a child’s bedroom, a
wine cellar, etc.). It’s easy to connect and install the unit, following the simple
instructions contained in this User’s Manual.

GETTING STARTED
Battery Installation and Information
Batteries are not supplied with this product. You will need two AAA batteries for the
remote sensor. INSERT BATTERIES IN THE HOME RECEIVER FIRST, BEFORE
PUTTING BATTERIES IN THE REMOTE SENSOR.
Note: Do not use rechargeable batteries with this product.
Installing Batteries in the Remote Sensor
1. Lift off the bracket stand on the remote sensor and loosen the four screws with a
small screwdriver.
2. Insert two AAA batteries (sold separately), carefully following the marking inside
to ensure the batteries are inserted properly, with the + and – ends in the correct
positions.
3. Replace the battery compartment cover and tighten screws.
Battery Disposal
Replace batteries with the same type of battery recommended by the manufacturer.
When disposing of old batteries, respect the law and the environment. Dispose of
batteries in an environmentally friendly manner.
Setting Up the Remote Sensor
The WETR1000 is shipped with one remote sensor. Up to three remote sensors can be
used with the home receiver to obtain temperature readings from three different areas of
your home (Additional remote sensors sold separately).
To set up the remote sensor, follow these steps:
1. Once batteries are installed in both units, press the Tx button underneath the cover
on the back of the remote sensor to trigger transmission. The outdoor temperature
appears on the home receiver.
2. Set the first remote sensor to CH 1 using the CH switch. If you use additional
remote sensors, set them to Channels 2 and 3, respectively. (Up to three remote
sensors can be utilized with this home receiver.)
3. To verify transmission, press the Tx button again on the remote sensor. The red
LED light on the remote sensor flashes when it transmits a signal. The
temperature reading from the remote sensor is updated and displayed on the home
receiver and the remote sensor.
To replace batteries in the remote sensor, follow these steps:
1. When replacing batteries, it is necessary to clear the corresponding channel of the
home receiver. To do this, press the CH button on the front of the home receiver
to access the channel you wish to clear.
2. Hold the CH button down for three seconds to clear the registration for that
channel. This clears the channel corresponding to the remote sensor that needs a
battery replacement.
NOTE: Removing the batteries on the home receiver clears all settings and
registrations on all remote sensors.
Positioning the Remote Sensor
Position the remote sensors for maximum results by following these steps:
1. Place the sensor out of direct sunlight and out of the line of direct moisture.
2. Place the sensor within 100 feet of the home receiver.
3. Position the remote sensor to face the main receiver, minimizing obstructions
such as doors, furniture and walls.
4. The remote sensor should not be placed near metallic or electronic objects.
5. Position the remote sensor close to the home receiver during colder months as
below-freezing temperatures may affect battery performance and signal
transmission.
6. Experiment with various locations to get the desired results.
7. Secure the remote sensor in the chosen location, using the wall mount or the table
stand.
DATA TRANSMISSION
Data is sent from the sensor(s) to the home receiver every 31 seconds, if there is a change
in temperature. If there is no change in temperature, the remote sensor updates the
transmission to the home receiver every 2.5 minutes. The LED indicator light, located on
the front of the remote sensor, flashes when the transmission is occurring to ensure that
the remote sensor is functional, even though the information on the LCD display may
remain the same. Information from that transmission is displayed on the outdoor
temperature area of the home receiver screen.
Note: Signals from household electronic devices such as doorbells, electronic garage
doors and home security systems may cause temporary reception failure. This is normal
and does not affect the general performance of the WETR1000 Remote Sensor.
Reception resumes once the interference stops.
Selecting Fahrenheit or Celsius Readings
The default reading on the remote sensor is Fahrenheit.
To select Celsius reading on the remote sensor, follow these steps:
1. Take the back cover off the remote sensor.
2. Press the button that says C/F. Pressing this button toggles back and forth
between the Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature reading method.
