The doors unlock, the parking lights flash, the horn sounds (if connected) as confirmation. (1) Never remotely start the vehicle with the vehicle in gear, and (2) Never remotely start the vehicle with the key in the ignition. Starting the Engine:1. Press and release the remote control button.2. The engine will START and the parking lights will turn on. The 7213A (2-way) remote will also emit tones.3. The parking lights stay on as visual confirmation while the engine is ON. The default runtime is 12 minutes and can be shortened or extended by the installer. If a remote start configuration issue prevents the engine from start-ing, the parking lights flash a Remote Start Fault report to identify the fault. See the online guide for details.If you wish to warm or cool the vehicle interior set the climate controls to the desired temperature prior to starting.

Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the run (not start) posi-tion.4. Step on the foot brake. The remote start is disabled and the park-ing lights turn off.5. Begin driving.Note Some Push-to-start vehicles do not offer the key takeover function, instead the vehicle shuts down when the vehicle door is opened and the car needs to be started as normal. All rights reserved.Battery InformationThe 1-way remote controls are powered by a single coin cell battery (CR-2032), and the 2-way remotes are powered by two coin cell bat-erries (CR-2016) that can be purchased at most retailers. Operating range diminishes as battery charge depletes.Battery Replacement1. Unscrew the hardware on unit rear and remove from housing.2. Hold the unit base with one hand and gently twist and pull the main housing body with the other. This releases all parts of the housing assembly.3. Remove battery from clip and replace with a new one while ob-serving the correct polarity.4. Therefore, never operate the system in an enclosed area or partially enclosed area without ventilation (such as a garage). When parking in an enclosed or partially enclosed area or when having the vehicle serviced, the remote start system must be disabled using the installed toggle switch. It is the user’s sole responsibility to properly handle and keep out of reach from children all remote control remote controls to assure that the system does not unintentionally remote start the vehicle. THE USER MUST INSTALL A CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR IN OR ABOUT THE LIVING AREA ADJACENT TO THE VEHICLE. You must read this Owner’s Guide to familiarize yourself with the proper procedures regarding manual transmission remote starters. (“Directed”) promises to the original purchaser to repair or replace (at Directed’s election) with a comparable reconditioned model any Directed unit (hereafter the “unit”), excluding without limitation the siren, the remote transmitters, the associated sensors and accessories, which proves to be defective in workmanship or material under reason-able use during the lifetime of the vehicle provided the following conditions are met: the unit was purchased from an authorized Directed dealer, the unit was professionally installed and serviced by an authorized Directed dealer; the unit will be profession¬ally reinstalled in the vehicle in which it was originally installed by an authorized Directed dealer; and the unit is returned to Directed, shipping prepaid with a legible copy of the bill of sale or other dated proof of purchase bearing the following information: consumer’s name, telephone number and address; the authorized dealers name, telephone number and address; com-plete product description, including accessories; the year, make and model of the vehicle; vehicle license number and vehicle identification number. All components other than the unit, including without limitation the siren, the remote transmitters and the associated sensors and accessories, carry a one-year warranty from the date of purchase of the same. ALL PRODUCTS RECEIVED BY DIRECTED FOR WARRANTY REPAIR WITHOUT PROOF OF PURCHASE FROM AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WILL BE DENIED. This warranty is non-transferable and is automatically void if: the unit’s date code or serial number is defaced, missing or altered; the unit has been modified or used in a manner contrary to its intended purpose; the unit has been damaged by accident, unreasonable use, neglect, improper service, installation or other causes not arising out of defects in materials or construction. Cuando la batería comienza a debilitarse, se reducirá el rango de operación.Reemplazo de batería1. Retire los tornillos de la parte trasera de la unidad y sepárela de la carcasa.2. Mantenga presionada la base de la unidad con una mano y gire suavemente y retire la carcasa principal con la otra. Esto libera todas las partes de la carcasa.3. Quite la batería del clip y reemplácela con una nueva mientras observa la polaridad correcta.Vuelva a unir las partes de la unidad y asegúrelo con tornillos. (“Directed”) le promete al comprador original que reparará o reemplazará (a elección de Directed) con un modelo comparable reacondicionado, cualquier unidad de Directed (en lo adelante, la “unidad”), excluyendo, pero sin limi-tarse a la sirena, los transmisores a remoto y los sensores y accesorios conexos, que demuestre estar defectuosa en cuanto a su mano de obra o materiales bajo un uso razonable durante la vida útil del vehículo, siempre que reúna las siguientes condicio-nes: La unidad se compró de un comerciante autorizado de Directed; la unidad fue instalada y mantenida profesionalmente por un comerciante autorizado de Directed; un comerciante autorizado de Directed reinstalará la unidad profesionalmente en el vehículo en el cual fue instalada inicialmente, y la unidad se devuelve a Directed, con los gastos de envío pagados por anticipado, junto con una copia legible del compro-bante de venta u otra prueba fechada de la compra, con la siguiente información: el nombre, número de teléfono y dirección del consumidor; el nombre, número de teléfono y dirección del comerciante autorizado; una descripción completa del producto, inclui-dos los accesorios; el año, la marca y el modelo del vehículo; el número de licencia del vehículo y el número de identificación del vehículo. Todo otro componente que no sea la unidad, incluyendo, pero sin limitarse a la sirena, los transmisores a remoto y los sensores y accesorios conexos, conllevan una garantía de un año a partir de la fecha de compra de los mismos.
