Quick start guide

NOTE: Use only the power adapters supplied with
your VTech telephone or equivalent.
NOTE:
For complete feature instructions, please refer to your
user’s manual.

STEP 1 Connect power to telephone base and
chargers then connect telephone line
to telephone base
Plug the connector into the power jack at the bottom
of the telephone base and chargers then plug the
power adapter into an electrical outlet not controlled
by a wall switch.
Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the
telephone line jack at the bottom of the telephone
base. Then plug the other end of the cord into the
modular wall telephone outlet.

STEP 2 Install the battery
• Align the two holes in the plug with the socket
pins matching the color-coded label in the battery
compartment of the handset, then snap the plug
securely into place.
• Place the battery in the compartment with the wires
in the upper right corner.
• Position the battery compartment cover and slide it
towards the unit until it clicks into place.
• For optimal performance, we recommend that you
charge the handset for 16 hours. Note that the new
battery may have enough charge for some calls.
STEP 3 Make, receive, and end calls
Make a call
• Press /FLASH or /SPEAKER to ensure there
is a dial tone, then dial the telephone number.

For predialing:
• Dial the number (press MUTE/REMOVE or
OFF/CLEAR to backspace, or press and hold
REDIAL/PAUSE to insert a pause).
Press /FLASH or /SPEAKER if you want to
use the speakerphone function.
Receive a call
• Press /FLASH or /SPEAKER or any dialing
keys (0-9, #, *) if you want to use the speakerphone
function.
End a call
• Press OFF/CLEAR, or put the handset in the
telephone base or charger.

STEP 4 Set the answering system clock
Press CLOCK to listen to the current clock setting.
Press CLOCK again to change the settings.
Press /SKIP or /REPEAT to change the year,
hour, minute, or date.
When the correct setting is announced, press CLOCK
to advance to the next setting.

STEP 5 Turn the answering system on and off
The answering system must be turned on to function.
If the answering system is turned off, the telephone
base light will be off.
To turn on/off the answering system:
• Press ANS ON/OFF to choose between on and
off.
STEP 6 Record outgoing announcement
(optional)

” To replace the default announcement:
• Pre ss A N N C an d t he s yst em a nn ou nc es
“Announcement, press PLAY or press RECORD.”
• Press RECORD to record, and the system
announces
“Record after the tone. Press STOP
when you are done.”
• After the tone, speak towards the microphone at the
front right of the telephone base from about nine
inches away.
• Press /PLAY/STOP when finished and the
answering system will automatically playback the
newly recorded announcement.
STEP 7 Charge the battery
The battery may have enough charge for a short
call. For best performance, charge the battery for at
least 16 hours.
To charge the handset, place it in the telephone
base or charger.
The CHARGE light on the telephone base or
charger will be on when the handset is properly
positioned. See Troubleshooting in the user’s
manual if the CHARGE light is not on.
For installation and use of the belt clip and the wall
mount bracket, please consult the user’s manual.

PASO 1 Conecte el suministro eléctrico a la

Enchufe el conector en la conexión eléctrica en

PASO 2 Cómo instalar la pila
• Alinee los dos oricios en el tomacorriente con las
puntas del enchufe equivalentes con la etiqueta con
los códigos de colores en el compartimiento de la
pila del auricular, después conecte con rmeza el
enchufe en su sitio.
• Coloque la pila en el compartimiento con los cables
en la esquina superior derecha.
• Coloque la cubierta del compartimiento de la pila en
su lugar y deslícela con rmeza hacia la unidad hasta
que quede en su sitio.
• Para obtener el mejor rendimiento, le recomendamos
que cargue el auricular durante 16 horas. Es posible
que la pila nueva tenga suciente energía para hacer
unas llamadas.
PASO 3 Cómo hacer, recibir y terminar llamadas
Cómo hacer una llamada
• Oprima /FLASH o /SPEAKER para escuchar
el tono de marcado, después marque el número de
teléfono.

Marque el número (oprima MUTE/REMOVE o OFF/
CLEAR para retroceder, u oprima continuamente
REDIAL/PAUSE para poner una pausa.
Oprima /FLASH o /SPEAKER si desea usar
la función del altavoz.
Cómo recibir una llamada
• Oprima /FLASH o /SPEAKER o cualquiera
de las teclas de marcado (0-9, #, *) si desea usar
la función del altavoz.
Cómo terminar una llamada
• Oprima OFF/CLEAR, o coloque el auricular en la

PASO 4 Cómo congurar el reloj del sistema
para contestar llamadas
Oprima CLOCK para escuchar la conguración
actual del reloj.
Oprima de nuevo CLOCK para cambiar las
conguraciones.
Oprima /SKIP o /REPEAT para cambiar el año,
hora, minuto, o fecha.
Cuando escuche la conguración correcta, oprima
CLOCK para avanzar a la siguiente conguración.

PASO 5 Cómo encender y apagar el sistema
para contestar llamadas
El sistema para contestar llamadas debe estar
encendido para que funcione. Si el sistema para
contestar llamadas está apagado, la luz de la base
del teléfono estará apagada.
Para encender/apagar el sistema para contestar
llamadas:
• Oprima ANS ON/OFF para seleccionar entre
encendido y apagado.
PASO 6 Cómo grabar un anuncio saliente
(opcional)
El teléfono está pre-programado con el anuncio
“Hello. Please leave a message after the tone” (Hola.
Por favor deje un mensaje después del tono). Para
cambiar el anuncio congurado:
• Oprima ANNC y el sistema anuncia “Announcement,
press PLAY or press RECORD ” (Anuncio, oprima
PLAY u oprima RECORD).
• Oprima RECORD para grabar, y el sistema anuncia
“Record after the tone. Press STOP when you are
done” (Grabe después del tono. Oprima STOP
cuando termine).
• Después del tono, hable hacia el micrófono al frente
derecho de la base del teléfono desde una distancia
de nueve pulgadas.
• Oprima /PLAY/STOP cuando termine y el
sistema para contestar llamadas automáticamente
tocará el anuncio recién grabado.
PASO 7 Cómo cargar la pila
La pila podría tener suciente energía para
hacer una llamada corta. Para obtener un mejor
rendimiento, cargue la pila durante por lo menos 16
horas.
Para cargar el auricular, colóquelo en la base del
teléfono o en el cargador.
La luz de CHARGE (carga) en la base del teléfono
o en el cargador estará encendida cuando el
auricular esté colocado apropiadamente. Consulte
la sección de Solución de problemas en el manual
de instrucciones si la luz de CHARGE no está
encendida.
