The VTech® Discovery Nursery Farm™ lets your baby join the barnyard jamboree while introducing animals, instruments, colors and more. Baby can learn and explore down on the farm! ON/OFF SWITCH 1 BOOK PAGE Introduction 4 ANIMAL BUTTONS 1 PUPPY SLIDE BUTTON 1 FARMER BUTTON 5 PIANO BUTTONS MODE SELECTOR INCLUDED IN THIS PACKAGE • One VTech® Discovery Nursery Farm™ learning toy • One user’s manual WARNING: All packing materials, such as tape, plastic sheets, wire ties and tags are not part of this toy, and should be discarded for your child’s safety. NOTE: BATTERY INSTALLATION 1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF. 2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the unit. Use a coin or a screwdriver to loosen the screw. 3. Install 2 new ‘ AA ’ (AM-3/LR6) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries i s re c o m m e n d e d f o r m a x i m u m performance.) 4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure. Battery Installation Please keep user’s manual as it contains important information. BATTERY NOTICE • The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance. • Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. • Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy before being charged. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES. PRODUCT FEATURES 1. ON/OFF SWITCH To turn the unit ON, slide the ON/OFF SWITCH to the ON ( ) position. To turn the unit OFF, slide the ON/OFF SWITCH to the OFF ( ) position. Product Features • Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision. • Do not mix old and new batteries. • Do not mix batteries of different types: alkaline, standard (carbonzinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium). • Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used. • Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity. • Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the toy. • The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited. • The toy is not to be connected to more than the recommended number of power supplies. • Do not dispose of batteries in fire. 2. VOLUME CONTROL The volume of the VTech ® Discovery Nursery Farm™ has three levels. Locate the VOLUME SWITCH on the bottom of the unit to adjust the volume level. 3. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF ® To preserve battery life, the VTech Discovery Nursery Farm™ will automatically power-down after approximately 45 seconds without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button. Opening or closing the book does not turn the unit back on. ACTIVITIES 2. Press the piano buttons to learn colors and music notes in Learning Mode. In Music Mode, while a melody is playing, press the piano buttons to play the melody one note at a time. The light will flash with the sounds. Activities 1. Press the animal buttons to learn about animals and instruments in Learning Mode. Hear fun instrument sounds and melodies in Music Mode. While a melody is playing, press an animal button to have that animal sing the melody. The light will flash with the sounds. 3. Press the farmer button to learn about the farmer, hear fun sound effects, talking phrases and a sung song in Learning Mode. Hear melodies in Music Mode. The light will flash with sounds. 4. Slide the puppy button to learn about the puppy in Learning Mode. In Music Mode, hear fun sound effects, talking phrases and melodies sung by the puppy. The light will flash with the sounds. 5. After a few seconds of no input, you will hear a question about an animal in Learning Mode, and a question about an instrument in Music Mode. Press the correct animal button or the farmer button to hear a rewarding sound and phrase. 7. Old MacDonald Had a Farm SONG LYRICS SONG 1 (to the tune of ‘This Old Man’) On the farm, there’s a dog. (dog barks) With a pluck of the banjo and more music, too, We can’t wait to play with you! On the farm, there’s a rooster. (rooster crows) With a pluck of the banjo and more music, too, We can’t wait to play with you! On the farm, there’s a cow. (cow moos) With a pluck of the banjo and more music, too, We can’t wait to play with you! On the farm, there’s a pig. (pig oinks) With a pluck of the banjo and more music, too, We can’t wait to play with you! CARE & MAINTENANCE 1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth. 2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source. 3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time. 4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water. Care & Maintenance On the farm, there’s a horse. TROUBLESHOOTING If for some reason the program/activity stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps: 1. Please turn the unit OFF. 2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries. 3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries. 4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
