INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the VTech® Hammer Fun Learning
TruckTM!
The Hammer Fun Learning TruckTM is an interactive hammer toy for
busy little hands! Tap on the pegs to hear letters and objects identified,
phrases and fun sounds. Press the buttons on the side of the truck to
hear the colors identified and fun traffic related phrases. A fun ‘find it’
game will ask toddlers to find, then press or hammer a specific object.
Cheerful melodies and playful songs add to the fun.

WARNING: All packing materials, such as tape, plastic sheets,
wire ties and tags are not part of this toy, and should
be discarded for your child’s safety.
GETTING STARTED
BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the
bottom of the unit. Use a coin or a
screwdriver to loosen the screw.
3. Install 2 new “AA” (AM-3/LR6)
batteries following the diagram
inside the battery box. (The
use of new alkaline batteries
is recommended for maximum
performance.)
4. Replace the battery cover and
tighten the screw to secure.
BATTERY NOTICE
Install batteries correctly observing the polarity (+, -) signs to
avoid leakage.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not mix batteries of different types: alkaline, standard

(carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium).
Remove the batteries from the equipment when the unit will not
be used for an extended period of time.
Always remove exhausted batteries from the equipment.
Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
Do not attempt to recharge ordinary batteries.
The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
Only batteries of the same and equivalent type as recommended
are to be used.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF RECHARGEABLE
BATTERIES.
PRODUCT FEATURES
1. ON/OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH
To turn the unit ON, slide the ON/
OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH
to the PLAY ( ) mode or the
MUSIC ( ) mode position. To
turn the unit OFF, slide the ON/OFF/
MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to the
OFF ( ) position.
2. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the VTech® Hammer Fun Learning TruckTM
will automatically power-down after approximately 40 seconds
without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any
button. Please note, pushing the truck and inserting or removing
the hammer from the truck quickly, will not turn the unit back on.

ACTIVITIES
1. Slide the on/off/mode selector
switch to choose a mode of play.
You will hear fun sounds, a song
and a phrase. The light will flash
with the sound.
2. Press the dog button to hear fun
sounds, phrases and a song in the
play mode. When the dog button is
pressed for the third time, you will
hear a random question. Press or
hammer the pegs to answer the
question. Press the dog button in
the music mode to hear a sing along
song or melody sung by the dog.
The light will flash with sound.
3. Turn the spinning gear to hear a
song, fun sound effects, phrases
or short tunes, depending on the
selected mode. Spin the gear when
a melody is playing to increase the
tempo of the melody. The light will
flash with the sound.
4. Press the color buttons to hear fun
sound effects, a phrase and a short
tune in the play mode. You will hear
sing along songs or melodies in the
music mode. The light will flash with
sound.

5. Remove the hammer from the truck
to hear fun sound effects and a
random question. Press or hammer
the pegs to answer the question.
Insert the hammer into the slot on
the truck and hear fun sound effects
and a phrase. The light will flash
with the sound.
6. Press or hammer one of the pegs, to
hear a phrase introducing the letter
and object or a fun phrase and a
related sound in the play mode. You
will hear a related sound or a melody
in the music mode. The light will flash
with the sound.
7. Press or hammer two or more of
the pegs at the same time, to hear a
random melody. While the melody is
playing, press the pegs or any other
button to hear a sound effect play
over the melody. The light will flash
with the sound.
8. Push or pull the truck to hear a variety
of fun phrases, sing along songs and
random melodies. The light will flash
with the sound.

9. If there is no input after approximately 6 seconds, you will hear a
random question and a sound effect. If there is still no input after
another 15 seconds, a phrase and a sound effect will play. If there
continues to be no input after another 10 seconds, you will hear
a sound effect, a phrase and a short tune. If there is still no input
after another 10 seconds, you will hear “Bye-bye” and the unit will
power down. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any
button. Please note, pushing the truck and inserting or removing
the hammer from the truck quickly, will not turn the unit back on.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat
source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit will not be in use for an
extended period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit
to moisture or water.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the program/activity stops working, please follow
these steps:
1. Please turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
5. If the product still does not work, replace with a new set of
batteries.
