RR1000 Handheld Reader Installation and Use
The RR1000 Handheld Reader comprises the following components:
• Electronics Box
• Handheld Antenna
• Antenna Cable
• Battery Charger
• Power Cord
• USB Cable
Software (see your WaveMark representative for access to software)
The RR1000 Electronics Box is a battery-operated RFID reader and is equipped
with internal batteries that are capable of running the reader for up to 15 hours on
a charge. The batteries are concealed within the box. They are shipped to the
customer partially charged. When the power switch is turned “on”, a charge-level
indicator on the front of the Electronics Box shows state-of-charge. A full green
display indicates that the batteries are fully charged. A single bar or blank display
indicates that the batteries are very low and should be recharged. Do not continue to
operate the RR1000 with a blank charge display.
Use only the charger that is supplied with the RR1000. The RR1000 should only be
charged with the power switch turned “off”. Plug the charger into the RR1000
Electronics Box and plug into the wall. The RR1000 will charge even though the
power switch is “off”. Do not use the RR1000 to read RFID tags while it is charging.
A full charge will take approximately 6 hours, but shorter charging cycles will
provide a partial charge. It is OK to leave the charger connected to the RR1000
longer than 6 hours. The charger will automatically switch to a reduced trickle
charge when the batteries are fully charged.
